Lidia's is located in the historic Freighthouse-- a beautiful 19th century building. The stunning decor includes three hand-blown chandeliers, a three-story slate fireplace, and cozy, New York style seating.

Unlimited pasta not good enough to want seconds.
Incredible dining setting and the food to match. Kansas City is spoiled with amazing Italian cuisine. Definitely recommend. Sit with Wojo.
Birthday dinner. Very packed but quality of food seems to have dropped. Service was very very slow.
Food was good.
Great food and service. It had been a long time since we’ve been there
Great service and attention to our dining needs. We ate outside with a great view of downtown at dusk.
Great evening and the Gnocchi with Duck and the trio platter was great.
The physical building is beautiful and that’s about where the good ends. The meals tasted pre fixed and the bread was cold. I was so sad that we picked this place for our anniversary dinner. We are not local so please if you are visiting take these reviews seriously. The food is subpar at best. I got the seasonal dish, and it was horrible. The only freshness was 4 tiny chopped up, rock hard pieces of zucchini that they garnished with at the top. Hate to say this but this restaurant is literally an Olive Garden in disguise.
Main dish was late coming out of the kitchen because they lost our ticket.
I have eaten at Lidia's Restaurant in the past and love to follow her on YouTube. The place, itself, if beautiful. Our food was not good at all. Chicken was tough, other items just had no flavor or poor presentation. Not at all what it should be. We have heard rumor that it will be closing, so this may have something to do with our experience.
Gave it 1 star for the atmosphere although it was FREEZING inside. I am not a complainer and try my hardest to never send food back. That's my only regret!
Ordered wine and a cocktail. Safe.
Fried calamari- odd, flavorless and cold.
Got bread and dipping pesto and black bean dip. Bread was cold - dip not great.
Food came out a second after ordering. Quick but it was cold. Probably already cooked and in trays waiting to be served. I ordered Carbonara. Cold and flavorless. Server brought me grated Parmesan cheese. Did nothing for flavor.
Husband ordered lasagna. Cold, noodles dry and sauce tasted like spaghetti-o's sauce. We are NOT picky eaters. We just couldn't eat it. Sever walked by several times and saw our plates were full. Had someone else take our full plates away and ask if we wanted boxes. May have been a buser? Seemed like their MO. I feel as though a server should check up on you several times during dinner and should have pressed the issue of us not wanting to go boxes and our plates full but didn't. In and out in 30 mins. Do not recommend.
Incredible food and service in a great atmosphere.
In this time of pandemic, it was nice to be able to eat outside at a nice corner table. I had the pasta trio, which is always a treat.
loved our server outside on the patio. food was so good as usual! short rib and pasta trio. management was not so nice. wait staff, amazing.
Sadly, Covid has made some changes and has affected overall food quality and service. One bread option instead of the former three great choices.
Dinner was supposed to have pine nuts, but they were missing off both entrees. Wrong dessert brought, had to wait 10+ minutes for the correct one to be delivered. Just not near our former experiences at Lidea’s.
Outside seating on a nice fall afternoon was wonderful. Meals and service did not disappoint.
This was my fourth visit and it was just as amazing each time! The pasta trio does not disappoint. We had the Arranchini, so creamy and delicious! We also order the pork chop! Super thick and tender....delicious! Until next time.
Food was outstanding as always. Social distancing practices were being utilized. Service was wonderful.
We were pleased with our outdoor dining experience. We felt the staff took pains to make sure that we were safe with clear COVID guidelines in place. Food, service and ambience were terrific.
Lidia’s is such a great place to celebrate. Their food is always fresh and outstanding. I always get the daily pasta trio. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Excellent as usual. I always her the Bistecca which I still contend is possibly the best steak in Kansas City. Is a huge 2” think ribeye seasoned to perfection with fried potatoes and veggies. The wife usually gets the pasta trio which changes all the time but she loves every combo every time.
It was average. I expected more.
Love the lighting and ambiance, and the food was delicious.
Italian trio dish was delicious.
Great anniversary dinner!
We came here for our anniversary and loved it. The house wine was delicious and reasonably priced. The food was excellent, as well as the service. Definitely recommend!
Food was amazing as usual! Loved sitting on the patio and enjoying the sunset. One of my favorite spots in KC.
Fantastic as always
My daughters birthday
Appetizer was lacking. We ordered the Fritos Misto appetizer but there were only 2-3 calamari in the dish....very disappointing.
Very good meal, as always!
Amazing food and atmosphere!!! Staff were awesome!! Will definitely return!
Excellent service & atmosphere. Food was delicious as always.
Lovely atmosphere & great food
Had a party of seven for a birthday celebration. Everything was perfect. Everyone was happy.
Wonderful service, our waiter Matthew was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. No complaints here!
OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND FOOD FLAVOR AND DISPLAY....
Very disappointed in what we assumed would be “ authentic “ Italian food. The bread service and spreads plus the caprese salad was phenomenal! The pastas were were the disappointing factors. I believed I thought what might be an outstanding carbonara was only “ meh”. My husband’s gnocchi was bland, even with the duck ragu.
Perhaps we were spoiled by eating outstanding pasta dishes in Italy so imagine our excitement to hear Lidia’s is to be authentic Italian approach. Nope.
Sorry, we would only return apprehensively.
The manicotti and the gnocchi were excellent. My wife enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana, which was not breaded and had just the right crispiness. Best of all was our server, WoJo. She made sure we had everything the way we liked it, and even introduced us to a new drink: Baileys and Frangelica. Great memories!
We usually like Lidia's but the service that night was not good. The waitress was too busy with a 2 top that was obviously more important than we were. Kind of disappointing as we really like this restaurant and were their to celebrate a birthday. We had to ask twice for seconds on the pasta. Also waited almost 20 minutes to get service when we were seated.
The food was bland. Nothing terrible, just not very good.
