The seasonal private dining menus capture the warmth of Lidia’s cuisine, evoking an authentic Italian meal in a lovely environment. Italian favorites are highlights of our three to four course dinner options along with our antipasti rustic buffet settings.
View Private Dining DetailsDisappointed in the taste of the food. Not flavorful at all. I've had better food at cheaper, less famous restaurants. Won't be going back.
The service was fantastic and so was the food! The octopus appetizer was delicious and the pasta sampler memorable.
Many gluten free choices for those who have a gluten allergy.
We were visiting PITTSBURGH and being a Lidia fan wanted to give it a try. We weren't disappointed!
My mom was born in Naples Italy and I watch Lidia a lot and her recipes are the type I was brought up on. DELICIOUS
Sunday reservation after attending a program at Heinz Hall. Service was great. I ordered the Osso Bucco and was very pleased. My wife ordered the eggplant parm and was also pleased. They also make a great Old Fashion.
Always enjoy Lidia’s. Pasta is so light. Great atmosphere and wonderful service!
Everything from the food to the service was wonderful!
The service was fantastic and everyone who works here is charming and kind. We just weren’t impressed with our food choices. We felt all of the dishes were bland and lacked any flavor. Zero flavor. It was disappointing. From the spreads on the breads to the seafood couscous dish, we just didn’t feel the meals stood out. Even adding some garlic or pepper would have helped! Just felt they added zero spices.
Lidia's continues to be a wonderful restaurant to bring friends and family to for a lovely night out or a special occasion. The service was excellent throughout the evening. Laurie, our server, was attentive and checked in on us frequently without being intrusive. The food was, as usual, very good. I look forward to my next visit.
We feel that Lidia’s is excellent. When visiting Pittsburgh, we always dine there. The food and service are consistently at the highest level.
food was not great - chewy steak for $42 - three people, five cocktails - $250 - not worth it imo
Except for the spaghetti and meatballs on the children's menu all the entree portions were too small to satisfy and adult. The gnocchi with duck ragu had very little flavor. The Eggplant parmigiana was small and also weak on flavor. Lack of flavor were also true for the calamari and the lasagna. The high point of the meal was the martini, it was spot on perfect.
Sunday brunch was phenomenal! I enjoyed the pasta trio and recommend this highly. All of the other dishes on the buffet were excellent as well as the desserts. I give this establishment 5 stars
You always know what you're getting at Lidia's. The food is consistent and tasty.
We had enjoyed dining at Lydia's in the past. On this visit we were seated upstairs which does not match the ambience of downstairs. The service was marginal, the area was loud and a bit threadbare, and the food average. It was quite a disappointment after our first successful visit.
Food was great. The atmosphere upstairs is not very interesting and less "special" that the room downstairs.
The food was delicious. Godd service. A little slow but the atmsphere made up for that.
A perfect Italian setting in downtown Pittsburgh. Th people were so well trained and charming. From the hostess Hannah to the bartender Anon and waitress Danielle it was perfect. They had a whole bass, my favorite, and my friend had the trio which was out of this world. I had just come from Giada and this is way better. An Italian A.
The food was fantastic. The smashed pea toast was fresh and delicious. The fava bean salad was fresh, light and seasoned impeccably. The frica was crispy and definitely comfort food. The meatballs were spot on. The budino was decadent, rich and full of flavor. The panna cotta was light and creamy. The cookies were crispy and full of flavor. The wait staff is wonderful, accommodating and friendly.
Beautiful locale, Pittsburgh friendly, great food, love the ambience
Couldn’t be happier with our decision to go to Lidia’s while in Pittsburgh for a conference. Our server, Laurie, was attentive and fun and made the experience memorable and enjoyable
Nice place, not dying to return, however I will in the future.
Honestly probably the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Very attentive and friendly staff.
Lamb chops were disappointing. Wafer thin with hardly any lamb. The gnocchi was good. Service was somewhat attentive but appeared to be new. This was a preset menu for the Easter holiday. Not worth the price.
Was very unsatisfied with our dining experience. The food was just average and the price exorbitant for what was included. None of the items on the menu with the possible exception of the lamb chops were premium dishes.
The shrimp in the farfale pesto were so small that they would have been expected at a Golden Coral buffet.
The glass of chianti I ordered was no where near a 6oz pour and we were never offered another drink even though all drinks were mostly gone by the time the main course arrived. I waited a good 15 minutes for another serving of pasta after the waitress asked if I would like more.
The deserts were average and we were never offered coffee either.
This was my second time at Lydia’s with the first time being a great experience. After Sunday’s Easter meal, I likely will never go back.
For $45 per person and the fact that none of the dishes warranted anywhere near that price, you would expect that it would be staffed sufficiently to offer an adequate level of service.
Had the price not been so high, I would have shrugged it off but at that price I feel Lydia’s needs to justify both the quality of the food as well as the service and in both categories it was a fail.
Lidia's is a fine Italian restaurant. Our experience there for an Easter dinner was wonderful, if a little pricey (fixed-price Easter menu). The food, as expected, was excellent as was the service.
Easter brunch was expensive, but outstanding.
We were at Lidia’s for Easter lunch. It was not the experience we had had on prior occasions at the restaurant. It was a fixed menu. The appetizers and desserts were uninspiring. And nothing about the desserts were Italian. The staff did not seem like the A-team. Disappointing except for the ravioli.
We have been to Lidia's many times and also always for Easter nad hav always enjoyed it. This past Easter my husband and I wer so very disappointed. The service was "scattered". Our waitress showed up only to ask "how is everything?" After taking our order, others served us, removed dishes (if we could find someone to ask). My husband had the Pasta Trio and enjoyed it. I had the Chicken Gratin which was 2 tiny chicken breasts, each with a thin slice of zucchini on top and MAYBE some parmesan cheese that was to be the gratin, all swimming in a tomato-y brothy liquid. The appetizer and dessert plates were so-so and not very appetizing looking. A real disappointment.
We were celebrating Easter. The choices on the price fixe menu were excellent, particularly the ravioli. We will dine there again.
Went for Easter pre-fixe at Lidia's Pittsburgh. First visit ever to a Lidia's restaurant. While food was good, service was slow. I realize it was a holiday but the restaurant was not full to start and there was plenty of staff. Did not get bread as other tables were provided, the pasta trio that said all you can eat - well, it took forever for the server to come back and serve seconds... the servers would spoon out the portions from their pan... and only server ever showed up with a second spoonful of pasta. The rest of my family was already done eating while I ate my seconds and then the dessert plate arrived while I was eating... The dessert plate was very small - while there was an assortment of 4 choices, each was super mini in size ... especially the biscotti - like 1 inch long microscopic biscotti... The server did not even ask if we wanted any coffee/tea and just promptly brought the check so the next round of guests could arrive. For a $210 meal for a family of 4, we left hungry. Sigh!
The food was good and the service was outstanding.
We felt it was a bit overpriced. But overall we were satisfied.
We were really excited that eat at Lidias having been fans of her show for years. The restaurant is really nice and the service from “Chenzo” and the other servers was great. We were a bit disappointed with the food however. I order the house special that included a Caesar salad, the pasta trio, and a dessert while my daughter ordered the Caesar and the short rib dinner. Our salads were large with slices of fresh Parmesan and crispy croutons, but was overdressed and the Caesar dressing was very vinegary. The short rib was OK, a decent portion of meat with mashed potatoes and a
nice flavor. By the description, the pasta trio sounded delicious with the server describing the various components and flavors of each pasta, and while the fettuccini pasta with spinach and ricotta tasted like fresh past, the flavors promised seemed lost in dishes which came across pretty bland. The one exception was the tiramisu which was exceptional. It would be great thanks know if Lídia only lends her name to the restaurant, or is actually involved in the dishes and ever visits to see if the quality and flavors meet her expectations.
Not our first visit to Lydia's so we were familiar with the prior menu however the daily specials were a real nice addition. The veal chop was tender and delicious as was the short rib dinner. We were seated as soon as we arrived in spite of the restaurant being very busy. Service was friendly and helpful.
We have stayed in the Strip District many times and have had success at other restaurants
in the area. I decided to try Lidia's since we could walk there from our hotel and I thought my parents would enjoy it. From the moment we walked in till the time we left it was wonderful.
There have been some comments previously about the service being slow and inattentive which made me slow to make a reservation. The service was wonderful, the food was fabulous and it really is not expensive compared to other places around. The tasting menu is lovely and the beet and blood orange salad is a nice beginning
The service was professional and friendly. Pastas were delicious. Staff accommodated my daughter’s request for basil and tomato on her grilled mozzarella from the kid’s menu.
Food was amazing. Absolutely loved everything we had!
We have been to Lidia's many times. Never disappointed. Food is tremendous and the service is excellent. It was a special dinner with our son and his wife from out of town. It is one of their favorites, also.
We enjoyed our visit, this was our first time to Lidia's. it was a special occasion as we surprised our son with tickets to see his favorite hockey player that evening..Sidney Crosby, and we are visiting from Ontario Canada too. Thank you to all staff who took care of us that evening to make it enjoyable!
We went for the Brunch. Our server Lori treated us like family. She was super accommodating to our requests, made suggestions, and made sure that we were able to taste everything we wanted. So much food! The brunch was to die for, all fresh fresh fresh, authentic Italian dishes. The manager came to our table to make sure we were pleased with everything (we were) and we had a great conversation.
We cannot wait to go back. Well worth the $ for a really special meal.
I really enjoyed my meal - the restaurant was very accommodating with my dietary needs! I came for an anniversary with my boyfriend and we loved it. It was our first time there and we were very impressed with the staff and food. Definitely bringing my family here when they come to visit me!
