Lidia’s Pittsburgh opened in March of 2001, only two years after Lidia Bastianich and her son Joseph Bastianich opened the popular Lidia’s Kansas City, their first venture outside of Manhattan.

Lidia’s Pittsburgh menu concept is a combination of the New York restaurants, Felidia and Becco.

Lidia's is located downtown in the strip district near the Heinz History Center, Benedum Center, Heinz Hall, Byham Theater, PNC Park, and PPG Paints Arena so it's the perfect place to enjoy a great meal before your event.

The menu features a daily pasta tasting, with homemade pastas that incorporate the season's freshest ingredients in addition to hearty Italian favorites such as the osso bucco, a braised heritage pork shank with barley risotto, the scallopine of chicken breast with roasted lemon, capers, and olives, and grilled salmon filet with seasonal contorni.

    I used to LOVE Lidia's. Recently though not only has the food been less than mediocre but the service as a whole has been sub par. A dining experience is not only about the food but is about the overall experience. The wait staff needs to be properly trained. I won't go back.

    This is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. The pasta trio and homemade ice cream were excellent. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

    Delicious food and excellent service. We were celebrating an engagement and they were so nice to us and really treated the group with excitement. Excellent wine choices.

    Arrived at 5:40 for 6pm reservation. Waited at the bar for our table. Was not seated until 6:25 when my wife went up to the hostess to see why we haven't been seated yet. Waited another :15 for a waitress after being seated. Ordered the pasta trio. Had to wait for refills. This was our 5th trip to Lidias. The first 4 were outstanding. This one was less than desirable. The food was excellent, but the wait times were unreal. Hoping this was just a bad day as this is one of mine and my wife's favorite special places to eat.

    Very cool interior. Sorry 2 say food was ok but I expected so much more. We had the osso buco & the tasting menu. I will give it one more try.

    My wife lived in Italy and raves that this is the most authentic Italian food she has found in the States. We drove over from Cleveland specifically to dine at Lidia's. Well worth the time and we look forward to a return visit.

    I had high expectations because of the reviews, however my meal was not as good as expected. I would give it another shot though.
