Lidia’s Pittsburgh opened in March of 2001, only two years after Lidia Bastianich and her son Joseph Bastianich opened the popular Lidia’s Kansas City, their first venture outside of Manhattan.

Lidia’s Pittsburgh menu concept is a combination of the New York restaurants, Felidia and Becco.

Lidia's is located downtown in the strip district near the Heinz History Center, Benedum Center, Heinz Hall, Byham Theater, PNC Park, and PPG Paints Arena so it's the perfect place to enjoy a great meal before your event.

The menu features a daily pasta tasting, with homemade pastas that incorporate the season's freshest ingredients in addition to hearty Italian favorites such as the osso bucco, a braised heritage pork shank with barley risotto, the scallopine of chicken breast with roasted lemon, capers, and olives, and grilled salmon filet with seasonal contorni.

The wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive, but not overbearing. I had the chef's three pasta special, which changes daily. All three pastas were delicious, and it was more than reasonably priced. If you want Italian head to the Strip District for a great meal.

Service was inconsistent. Food quality good. They corrected mistakes; seems restaurant had eventful evening. Desserts were very good. Would consider again

Our brunch waitress Laura was wonderful - attentive, knowledgeable, warm personality and genuinely wanted us to have our best possible experience.

Pasta was to die for, as was the dessert bar. Laura didn't bat an eye when we asked for tweaks to the pasta due to preferences.

We loved it, and look forward to returning the next time we're in PGH.

we had an excellent dinner and the staff was attentive, but not hovering. We were seated at our reservation time, and our waiters were friendly, helpful and very efficient.

Service, value and ambiance was very good. Food was good, but felt overall 3 stars. Nothing really wowed me. Seems like a nice Italian spot. Def the pasta trio sampler is the way to go. Will visit this place again. I liked the experience and good selection and good priced bottles of wine.

Was good, I'd say just OK. With a little moe effort, could be much better. Food was OK, service was average, initial seating and greeting was poor, for example, had reservation but valet wasn't even there.
