Lidia’s Pittsburgh menu concept is a combination of the New York restaurants, Felidia and Becco.
Lidia's is located downtown in the strip district near the Heinz History Center, Benedum Center, Heinz Hall, Byham Theater, PNC Park, and PPG Paints Arena so it's the perfect place to enjoy a great meal before your event.
The menu features a daily pasta tasting, with homemade pastas that incorporate the season's freshest ingredients in addition to hearty Italian favorites such as the osso bucco, a braised heritage pork shank with barley risotto, the scallopine of chicken breast with roasted lemon, capers, and olives, and grilled salmon filet with seasonal contorni.

The eggplant parmesan came out cold, it was sent back and then return to us slightly warmer but never sufficiently hot., the Osso Buco is average. The Frico appetizer was wonderful.
We both ordered the Pasta Sampler. The farfalli was supposed to be in an olive oil and garlic sauce - it had neither but appeared to have been simply drained of water and placed on the dish. The tagliatelle arrived with the wrong ingredients - it was supposed to be a sauce with short ribs, but rather had mushrooms with no short ribs! We were told by staff that the cook forgot to put on his/her glasses when preparing the dish!!??!! The wait staff was excellent and the sommelier was very informative.
We have been to two of Lidia’s restaurants in New York. Those were excellent. This experience was very, very far from that.
Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The pasta
Was disappointed. Service wasn’t great and food was tasteless.
Having long been a fan of Lidia Bastianich, I was thrilled to find her restaurant when visiting Pittsburgh! We enjoyed drinks at the bar before our dinner reservation and were seated in a quiet corner of this lovely space. Our server was very professional and knowledgeable, very attentive and offered menu suggestions. We enjoyed the Bastianich red wine with dinner, shared the spinach salad with strawberries and white wine vinegarette, the pasta trio served table side were delicious and baked ziti with meatballs was amazing! With just enough room for their nutella dessert, we left feeling pleasantly fed and the cost was surprisingly affordable for such a high end styled restaurant. This is a DO NOT MISS place for an outstanding, homemade Italian dinner!
Everything was incredible. From the service to the appetizers and main dishes. The baked ziti was incredible, but I would have no problem skipping a meal just to eat the Nutella dessert. It did not disappoint!
Food was fine but bland. Service and attentiveness by staff was poor.
My wife and I both enjoyed the Pasta Trio for dinner. We will definitely be going back sometime soon to enjoy another fantastic meal.
Poor menu choices. Pasta over cooked, chicken liver dish had dew livers. Never again!
Terrible experience. The restaurant was beautiful, but the food was bland. My dinner was cold and the manager seemed uninterested in having my food reheated.
Save your money and go somewhere else.
My niece wanted to have dinner there Christmas 2017. Was totally booked, so this time I made reservations early. It was great, service was great our servers were amazing. Food was great. Absolutely would go back.
Our second visit was disappointing. Service was not the best, the waiter that filled our water glasses was the most attentive. Food was lacking flavor. The endless pasta trio was difficult to get additional servings.
This is the second time I’ve been to Lidia’s and truly enjoyed my meal with my husband!
We watch Lidia every Saturday on pbs in Cleveland and we’re truly thrilled to be able to go to one of her restaurants!
Calamari appetizer had zero calamari in it. Entrees took over 2 hours to be served. Waiter tried to make up for it; he was friendly and courteous. Empty table next to us sat uncleared for the almost the entire meal, which was close to 3 hours due to the wait on our food.
We had a 7 Pm reservation. When I asked at 7:05 if we would be seated soon ( there were many open tables). The hostess told me that they were trying to seat the large groups first even though they were walk ins. We waited an additional 15 min and were seated after all of the walk in groups came in.
Our server took 10 min before we even got our drink orders in. We finally got our order in and waited an additional 30 min before our incomplete order arrived. When our server returned, we were almost done eating. I mentioned our vegetable that didn’t arrive and she apologized and ran back to the kitchen before I could ask her to cancel it.
My Zupa de pesce was mediocre with a piece of fish that was 2”. X 2” and maybe 1/2” thick. Next time I’ll go to Ciopinos for seafood when in Pittsburgh. Food and service is much better there.
I ordered the Rucola Salad, which was tasteless and wasn't dressed.
The waitress that delivered the food just threw all
the plates of food on the table. The Pollo al Limone had 15 to 16 cloves of garlic on my plate, it was outrageous. We are huge fans of Lidias show and we were underwhelmed with the entire experience.
The food is wonderful and service is nicely attentive. My second visit. I love Lidia’s
the food was mediocre; my entree came to the table cold, needed to send back; pasta did not have much flavor; service was fair - not high on my list to return
Family style for apps and dessert does not allow you to get your money’s worth
Loved Lidia’s in Pittsburgh. The food, ambiance, and service was wonderful. Fined on a Friday evening with 3 other ladies who loved the experience. We all sampled the pasta trio and calamari. Sheer perfection. So glad we came.
Parking in this area has become horrible. I hope the dining locations can adjust. The section needs a 20 floor parking garage.
I believe our waitress did everything she could to satisfy Us but she received no support from the kitchen. I made the reservation for 11 of us and the service was so slow I was embarrassed. I had several of our company executives in attendance and they weren’t pleased . She mentioned that she would have the managers stop over but that did not happen.
I have used LYDIA‘s each time I have a group coming into town and have always been satisfied. That’s why this was such a surprise. The only reason we got was that you were not that busy typically on a Monday night. As I said we did have a reservation. I would like some assurance that this will not happen again if I continue to use LYDIA says might go to restaurant for the first night of an event.
Went for the Sunday brunch and it was amazing. Had the grilled octopus and it tasted like shrimp out was so good. Server suggested abs so glad he did. It was sweet yet slightly salty and the texture was not gummy it was perfect not overly firm. Like perfectly done shrimp. I was floored about how good or was. Other 2 in my party had the pasta trio. The goat chesse and chive was light and delicious. The pesto was good and the "ragu" was really tasty. They had about 4 servings since it's all you can eat on the pasta. The buffet had so many choices between salads dinner foods and of course desserts. The bread is out of this world and the provide 3 different flavored butters on the table.
Our waitress was good but the rest of the staff came across very unfriendly. The food was just okay.
I loved the special pasta dish with a sampling of 3 of the chef's daily pasta specials. It was a great way to try different dishes. The atmosphere is nice for a date night.
Lidia’s is a real treat. Our server was fun and friendly. The pasta trio is delicious! We are foodies and this was a fun way to spark food conversations.
The food was fantastic, portions were generous. I definitely didn't leave hungry. My server Lorie was OUTSTANDING! She was extremely helpful and made recommendations that made my meal decision so much easier. I will definitely go back again when I'm in town visiting.
The restaurant was crowded. Our server rushed. We got no bread even when we asked for it. The carbonara listed in the website menu was not offered anymore. The pasta sampler was mostly vegetarian. This was not clear from the menu. The food was just fine. We expected something better dor the name and the price.
Lovely restaurant. Every time we visit Pittsburgh, Lidia's is our choice for a special occasion.
Sunday brunch. Antipasto and deserts were good but entree was so greasy that I couldn’t finish it and it left an aftertaste that was with me all day
Our party of 4 had a wonderful experience. All of our entrees were excellent, as were the appetizers. Casey, our server, was a delight. She was very knowledgeable about the menu items. She was there when we needed her, but did not hover. Had a really nice time.
I have always recommended Lidia's for someplace special to go and it was special in the past, but has become less so. I have never had a bad meal. The environment isn't what it once was and I feel someone has lost the attention to detail.
We planned to stop in Pittsburg and go to Lidia's restaurant. We have been planning since last year. In the way back to Toronto Canada from our condo in West Palm Beach FL, we booked a hotel in Pittsburg so we could go to Lidia's.
The experience was good, but not what we expected. The restaurant was very nice decorated but very big, lacking the warmth of a cosy Italian restaurant. The food was good but not very Italian, I expected a more home stile taste, same as her cooking show.
I am a native Italian and I am very aware of the true Italian cuisine.
This cuisine was more Americanized. Also the restaurant is listed as a $$$, should be a $$$$, and the wine was very expensive starting at $55
For a bottle of basic wine. We ordered two glasses of Chianti at $9 each for about 3 ounces of wine in each glass. The service was a bit slow, overall was ok. I also like to add that there is only valley parking at the restaurant.
The last dinner we had at the Bellagio in west Palm Beach, was a superb experience, true Italian flavor, with in house Calabrese bread, and they paid for our parking. The basic wine there was$36 per bottle.
Will I return to Lidia's, probably not.
I like my home cooking made from Lidia's recipes better Lol
Our server was wonderful and was able to accomodate my vegan companion. However, my entree must have been under the warmer much longer than hers and had slightly cooled and the cheese on top had hardened.
We had a nice meal at Lydia's. I ordered the lasagna and it was excellent. The portion was large enough for 2 meals. My husband had the eggplant parmesan which was good. We ordered the barata for an appetizer and it was fair, as well as the arugula salad. The dessert we had was the apple crostada. It was disappointing. We should have ordered the tiramisu. From this experience, Lydia's pastas seem to be a sure bet and we should stick with that!
It was amazing! The highlight of my weekend.
Service was slow for drinks and food. Pasta, fish and lamb were good. Steak was not seasoned. Spending hundreds on dinner and being charged for valet is petty.
Always good. We had not been there for many years because we moved away. Back in town and went straight to Lidia’s. Would highly recommend it.
Party of 7- great meal out and outstanding service! Great wine recommendations from our server, too!
