Fantastic little find, we really enjoyed it, the seafood was amazing and the lemon meringue pie was to die for. The wine was pretty damn good too ! The owner was warm, cheerful and helpful and the waiter was fantastic. We really enjoyed it, by far the best meal out I’ve had for a long time, nothing to fault it , first class! Well done and thank you !

Visited the restaurant for dinner as a group of 5. The linguini, oyster, soup was great. But the seafood platter, lamb chop was disgusting. Lamb chop was very bitter and clearly burnt. Asked waiter to check with chef, who did kindly check and told it was just how it tasted, we did not bother and just left half of the dish unfinished. The seafood platter was disgusting, lobster stinks from miles away, meat literally falls apart and bity. Mussel was clearly not fresh and smelled disgusting. Asked the waiter to ask chef to smell it, chef did not even acknowledge the request and threw it straight away, then told us it was normal. We then told the waiter we just wanted to let them know it's not fresh, not requesting discount or remake, we then asked for the bill as no point going back wards and forward on this. We paid in cash and the older waitress decided to give us 15 x 20 pence coins. Clearly she was taking the mick because we complained about the food. Confronted her and said we did not have any other coins (funny no 50P, No £1, but had 15x 20 pences, did not even user common sense to ask us if all 20p is ok) However, cannot fault the young waiters/waitress, very polite and apologised for the negative experience. However the older lady at the till was incredibly rude and taking the mick by giving 14 x 20 pences. Let the pennies there and left. Would not recommend the seafood platter, and the older lady at the till is just unbelievable.

Food was absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic we were served by a French man absolutely made our experience he explained how certain food should be eaton and what with (oysters) will definitely go again.

I would definitely recommend eating out at licorella, our food was high quality, the service was outstanding. We will visit again, when we return to Scarborough. Thank you and regards David.

Unfortunately, considering the quality of food, excellent service and a truly wonderful evening , we were the only diners. Having said that we would highly recommend this “hidden gem” We will definitely return. In particular we would like to particularly thank everyone

Lovely food very tasty , we had Piri Piri Prawns and goats cheese salad for started ( plus a freebie from chef) . For mains we had Salmon & rack of spare ribs. Wine is good quality and not too expensive. Service was excellent , will definitely be going back .

Fabulous food, extensive menu, with a large selection of tapas. I recommend the unusual but very tasty Mongolian Beef. Fantastic customer service. Very attentive and engaging with us. Great selection of slightly unusual wines with the emphasis not surprisingly on Spanish wines as the Owner is Spanish. Excellent central location in the Scarborough town centre. Definitely well recommended

Our second visit this year, the food is wonderful, staff so friendly and welcoming. We will be visiting Scarborough again just so we can eat there! Special shout out for the oysters!!

Really hate writing bad reviews but my chicken came out pink and had to be sent back, put me and my family off eating the rest of our meal. Chef came out and apologised which was really nice and the young girl that served us was really apologetic too but it was a table of 7 people and cost us £199 i would have atleast appreciated a gesture of not to be charged for my meal as i couldn't eat it anyway.

Hi Amy, We find a bit hard to leave us 1* on that review, it can happen to any restaurant that meat is a bit undercook. We try our best to fix it as fast as we could on a busy Saturday Night. You mention too that you couldn't eat your meal, I do believe you ate yours as all plate of that table back empty. Regards Licorella Team
