Established in 1995.

Library Alehouse was opened as one of the first craft beer bars in the Los Angeles area, and continues to serve some of the best, most unique and rare beers from California, the US and beyond.

Library Alehouse offers brunch, lunch and dinner. A variety of salads and sandwiches are on offer, including the shaved ribeye sandwich and the alehouse burger featuring a beef patty on a brioche bun, smothered in arugula, onions, gorgonzola and garlic aioli. The roasted beets salad makes a pleasing accompaniment. Other popular dishes at the Library Alehouse include alehouse fish 'n chips, vegetable curry and grilled fish tacos.

Library Alehouse has a great selection of beers - which was my main motivation to come here (was highly recommended by a friend). Come to find out the food is also very good! I would recommend coming to Library Alehouse.

The back patio is the only way to go. At first when we arrived, we entered the crowded bar and was a bit worried by the crowd. We had a reservation for the back patio, which was quaint, comfortable and covered. We were there on a colder night, so the heaters were on. Service was prompt, burgers, salads and fish was good. Great for friends or casual night out.

We sat outside in the back. We had a really nice, calm evening where I was able to talk and catch up with my boyfriend over good beer. Food was good too!

Greasy food with a mediocre beer selection. Had this place been classified as a regular pub instead of gastropub, I might have given it a slightly higher rating. As a gastropub, the food options are limited - primarily burgers, enchiladas, dips- and the few interesting options (like roasted cauliflower) , lacked finesse, using way too much vinegar. Unpalatable! This food was also one of the worst I've had in the (Venice/ Santa Monica/ Marina Del Rey) area, which has a vatiety of gastronomically rich options. So I've also considered the quality of other local haunts when rating this one.

The don't have the oxtail Poutine any more, which is a shame. Replaced it with chili fries which pretty good as well. Good service. Good bar food. Good beer.

Met an old friend and spent several hours catching up. Service was fantastic, steak salad was excellent, veggie burger was praised by companion. Great election of beers with knowledgeable staff.
