Liberty Prime Steakhouse
Really poor food experience, the steak was tasteless and the garlic fries were undercooked, for the price it was a very disappointing meal. The service is the only positive for the this restaurant.
Brought in my New Year here with family and we absolutely loved everything. From the Hostess, bartender, waiter, and the food was perfect. Thanks for kicking my new year off with a great start.
By far the worse steakhouse I have been to in the area. The steak had gristle and was fatty, the soup was lukewarm, and the flourless chocolate cake was falling apart.
My boyfriend and I went for the pre-fix dinner on New Year’s Eve. The food was spectacular! We expected a busier than usual atmosphere due to the holiday but the entire restaurant seemed over crowded. Though each course was amazing, the evening felt rushed at times even with waiting more than ten minutes for each round of drinks. The complimentary champagne was a nice touch and an appreciated gesture.
Beautiful restaurant with great food, excellent service, & a very good bar.
I can't wait to go back to Liberty Prime! Awesome service and a beautiful restaurant!!
Excellent food and value. Service solid but not top notch.
Enjoyed my experience at Liberty Prime Steakhouse. The food was amazing and our server was outstanding. As someone who loves Christmas, I was in awe at the Xmas decorations. I would highly recommend this establishment. I cannot wait to return.
We had a great meal but we did spend more than $235 for lunch for two. A bit much for lunch but we did enjoy it. Then we went on to have a few more drinks at the bar after. We like it. Going to check out Sunday brunch today.
I'm going to give the place a second try. Overall the place is pitch dark, the service was fine not over the top. I don't understand when waiters don't ask how the meal is, so far. It came down to the steak. We asked for it medium rare and it was rare, even many cold bites. Unfortunately, we were enjoying ourselves too much to be bothered with complaining. The sides were fine, desserts were better, good fine for decent to high prices.
Good service. Wine list online does not resemble in house list
Never had peppers and onions in shrimp scampi
Steaks were good but not up to the standards of the better City steak houses
They don’t have the same high heat broiler that the city has so the steaks don’t get the true char broiled taste
Great steaks alserved family style. Perfect for a big table.
Steak was bland and not cooked to appropriate temperature, server cursed within a few minutes, food was overpriced. Ambience and music are both very nice, but I won’t be going back.
The food and service were outstanding! The staff was very attentive and never felt intrusive. Food was excellent - had 3 different steaks which were all cooked perfectly and plenty of sides. My one small gripe would be the Wine List. I wish there was a lower price point, because IMO it would provide more choice and offer a break on the overall cost of the meal. Still that being said, I will definitely go back again!
We took my mother here for her birthday. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The cocktails and the desserts were also a treat. The key lime pie was a special favorite!
Great place to celebrate my husband's birthday. Confirm reservation, great service, amazing food. Really recommend this restaurant.
Very good steakhouse find while visiting the greater NYC area. Excellent steaks and friendly service. Decent wine list. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for
Great service; great food. Great venue; last May our wedding rehearsal was there; and again an amazing food and drink experience.
Unfortunately two steaks weren’t cooked correctly. Had the send them back and got back something tasting like microwaved steak.
Food was good but noise level high + wait staff not very professional.
Expensive but very nice
Great Meal. Awesome fillet minion. Expensive, but worth the price.
Great white linen steak restaurant in downtown Jersey City. Very good food with lots of good selections. First class service. I have been there 4 or 5 times now. It's a favorite
Our first impressions of this restaurant was wow, really cozy and elegant. However, they did not offer us the menu for restaurant week until we asked for it about 10 minutes after we sat down. We thought it was kind of like a hidden deal and it kind of ruined our first experience there, it was kind of dishonest not to offer it. It was totally separate from the menu on a separate sheet of paper. Free advertisement and hiding it afterward was not cool.
Also the dessert although okay was also a surprise and it was only a donut with some ice cream. For this type of restaurant I expected a higher level of dessert, not a pre purchased donut for Krispy Cream.
The steak and potatoes was not great either. It was 2 spoons of potatoes and a rubbery kind of meat. My husbands salmon was good.
It was okay in my opinion. I might return but not for a long time. I’ve had excellent experiences around this area that actually beat Liberty Prime Strakhouse.
Steaks are not great and for that quality are way overpriced. They are charging Del Frisco’s Rockefeller Center prices at a lower jersey rent and lower quality steak. I don’t give this place much longer.
Great expensive steak restaurant. Food and drinks are top quality and taste.
I normally don't write reviews but felt compelled to write one about this restaurant because I was so disappointed. I went here with my husband and two children while visiting NYC/NJ for a long weekend. Our waitress was completely inattentive, never came back to check on us once except to bring the food and the check. My husband and son's steak were almost too rare to eat. It was restaurant week in Jersey City, and I had to ask for the special menu - it was never offered to us. My meal arrived with cold french fries, not the "steak frites" I was expecting based on the menu description. Dessert was a Krispy Kreme donut with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall I paid a lot of money for an extremely crappy dinner! Horribly disappointed - don't waste your money here!
Strake was good
Hudson Restaurant Week for lunch
Very things are good except steak and not hot.
The restaurant week menu definitely did not want me to come back. The chef's dessert was a Krispie Kreme donut with ice cream. It's a steak house so I think it's worth not participating in restaurant week versus throwing out a sub par menu.
Petit filet was tough and chewy. Not worth the money. I was disappointed because ambiance was nice-just not enough to go back.
I would like to commend the staff last night (7/14/18) who handled our complaint with style, generosity, and grace. 3 of us went to the restaurant for a special celebration. The Prime Board (cheese, prosciutto, Soppressata with with 3 amazing sauces), was DELICIOUS, as was the shrimp cocktail (some secret ingredient in the sauce that we loved). Unfortunately, the steaks we ordered were not so great. We spoke to the manager who apologized and sent the day's special cookie dough dessert, a lemon tart, and a chocolate cake to our table. OH MY GOD! THEY WERE AMAZING!
Thanks to the waiter and the manager, we had a lovely evening, left happy and full, and definitely wanting to return to and recommend Liberty Prime Steakhouse (Liberty Prime Steakhouse & Events.
PS: The table next to us left a cell phone behind which I brought up to the hostess stand. She literally ran down the street to find the people it belonged to. Prime Steakhouse Team--A true class act!
it's always a pleasure there very welcoming with the customers.
Food was amazing
Service was excellent
The restaurant itself was beautiful
Finally made it to Liberty Prime. Very impressed with the menu. Steaks were excellent as expected but even appetizers were exceptional. This truly made Fathers Day special for my husband.
Liberty Prime always delivers a wonderful meal that includes appetizers and entrees. Have not had dessert there. The service is attentive and accommodating. We drive in from Queens for special occasion meals with our Jersey daughter. Always enjoyable.
I went for steak with my friends. Two of us felt serious stomachache after the lunch.
We have also been charged 16 dollars for water without any notice from the waitress. After we sat down, the waitress asked if we want anything for drinks. we told the waitress that we just want water, then the waitress asked us if we want bottle water or tap. We said bottle and then she brought the water to us. Until we saw the check, we didn’t know it’s 8 dollars/bottle.
I won’t come back again.
Father’s Day dinner
The food just wasn't that good; and I'm finding that steakhouse, even the good ones, aren't taking their steaks and cuts seriously. A $50-$80 steak should be perfectly trimmed and barrel cut (flat top, flat bottom. NEVER serve the butt ends or filet or ribeyes, never. More and more I get a flat side and the butt end down on the plate like the chef is trying to fool the customer or the manager or something. I got a butt end filet that was already cut, like somebody cut it to see the temperature, I sent it back. My second steak was better. Creamed spinach, was like eating baby food, just a little too watery - like a pesto. Hash browns too, soggy, not a crispy morsel in the serving bowl. The wedge was adequate.
