Arrived at 6 PM for dinner (had a 6 PM reservation), but we not served our dinner until 6:50, prettt long time considering we didn’t order appetizers.
Our meal was very good, and the service was outstanding.
When we arrived before we could get a word in the host said theres a 20 min wait. I explained that we had booked a reservation through opentable. He said that the liberty hound wasnt using open table anymore. We agreed to wait but after a little bit decided to ask the bartender if we could eat at the bar. She said absolutely. She was very friendly and prompt. She waited on us. The blackened grouper sandwich was served warm and wasnt blackened at all. It was still tasty but would have been better hot. My wife's beef on weck was huge, she enjoyed it. We had a couple specialty cocktails as well. Both were good. Open table did give me extra points for this visit bc the reservation wasnt acknowledged.
The food and service at the Liberty Hound were good, but PARKING is the issue when dining at this restaurant which is INSIDE the Naval& Military Museum at Buffalo Canalside . We were lucky to get one of the very few nearby street paring spots up the block from the restaurant, It would have been a very LONG walk to the restaurant if we had not. The Lobster Roll that I had for lunch was very good!
Food was delicious and the service was great.we will be back.
I was very disappointed in the menu. It was not what I saw on line. The drinks were not good at all. Four people at my table didn't even finish them. Where we were sitting was very crowded. It was hard to get out of the chairs when we needed to. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not be going back.
The restaurant was short-staffed for the crowd. It was almost fifteen minutes before our server came to our table to greet us.
My date ordered a beer, and after three beers being "out of stock", he finally settled for one available. After 25 minutes and not receiving the beer, I asked the waiter about the status of his drink. The waiter replied that the reason he didn't bring it out is because they were "out" of that one as well, but he forgot to tell us.
Shrimp cocktail took twenty minutes to come to the table.
Food was good, but not outstanding. The grilled chicken on my salad was cold, likely having been prepared earlier and refrigerated.
We were attending a sporting event that started at 7:30PM. I made 5:15PM reservations - assuming we'd have more than enough time to walk the Navy yard before the event. However, we didn't get out of the restaurant until nearly 7PM. All we ordered was shrimp cocktail, a sandwich, and a salad. No heavy preparation.
We wanted to check it out, but now that we have, we likely won't return given the first experience.
Had a 6:00 reservation. Didn’t get seated until 6:40! The food was tasty but overpriced for what it was. The sandwiches were probably the best deal since it included one side. Although they were nothing special. But the eggplant dish was a rip off. Tasted great but came with only bread. Pasta is cheap so including a side of pasta would have been a cheap side. Our server was not attentive. Had to repeatedly ask for water and tea refills. Never did refill our iced tea even though we asked him twice. On the plus side, it is walking distance to Key Bank Center. Parking was hard to find.
Delicious food. Unique location. They were pretty busy as it was a night where there was a concert at the arena. Would like to go back and see if the service is better on a slower night.
Excellent service and great food and drinks! Server was friendly, we were a bit late due to traffic and they held our table, got our drinks and food right out
great location, food was very good, as was the service...alittle noisy, but we had a really nice experience
I would recommend that a reservation be made since inside seating is limited.
I had a reservation but was not seated until 15 min. After arrival....could not go to the bar because it was full and was not offered any other alternative (cold and rainy outside) for having a place to stand and have a drink. I am glad we were not in a hurry....
The new menu was out and it was fantastic. Love the Lady Liberty as our drink. Nice and fresh.
Very good experience all around
Overall a great place - food, service, location - just too noisy!!
Great food and atmosphere. The service was exceptional for as busy as they were. Going back in the summer for the outdoor experience.
Awesome service and food on a very busy night. Highly recommend.
Such a great lunch, as usual. Ahi Tuna Nachos are so good, even when the tuna was gone, I took the wonton chips home! Lobster grilled cheese sandwich is amazing! My mom's Liberty burger medium rare was PERFECTLY done. This is not common! Love this place!
A little noisy, but hey - it is a bar. Great Fisherman's Stew, good beer selection and great views of the Naval Exhibit - even though still a little wintry in Buffalo.
I come in for the Ahi Tuna Nachos, I love them so much I make them at home now! Yours need more tuna, it's more chips but everything else is perfect! Your salads are delicious, lots of drink options and really friendly staff!
Great food. Service wasn't good. Waiter hardly checked on us and when he did, he forgot some things we had asked for.
The waiter was rude. Brought the entrees out before we had even come close to finishing our apps let alone our soups. Timing was absolutely terrible. I commented on that my dinner would be cold and he just laughed.
Seated on time - great service as well as food. We were going to Sabre game so needed to be in and out in less than an hour.
If there is ever a time you need to clear your sinuses, I recommend getting the tuna nachos. However, there is a larger problem at hand. The host and waiter do not seem to appreciate dad jokes as much as they should, and that's problematic. After my date had dropped an absolute nuke of a dad joke, it received little to no appreciation, and I'm talking "the mother load of all bombs" type of dad joke. It just saddened my heart to have witnessed that. I left that nice establishment thinking one question and one question only, what has happened to humanity?
Food was great! Scallops were cooked perfectly! Can't wait to go back to try other menu items!
Seated when we arrived, our server was great and very knowledgeable...able to answer all our questions. Food arrived nice and hot and was delicious. Great menu choices. Noise level was a bit loud but not so bad that you couldn't talk.
We went to the Liberty Hound right before a concert and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. We added 1 to our reservation last minute and they accommodated without any fuss.
The drinks were wonderful; appetizers were delicious (get the tuna nachos), and the dinner portions were very generous. Prices were reasonable. Service was great!
Will be returning!
Gone there alot with no issues but last time the wings were under cooked for my wife and i liking
The chicken wings were the worst I've had in 30 years. I specifically asked for "extra crispy", and they arrived undercooked to a rubberlike consistency. I will not order them again, nor will i recommend them.
Gray food and huge portions at really reasonable prices. Nice craft beer menu. In the summer, this would be a great place to hang out as a stop to a waterfront walk! It is also super close to KeyBank for a meal before an event.
Great location and good specialty food! Love the variety of seafood.
Food and service was great. Parking was a little difficult and ended up paying to park in a lot. Other than that two thumbs up.
Went there before the Sabres game as it's our yearly tradition. Great food. I had the clam chowder and buffalo chicken wedge salad...delicious! My wife had chicken and brie sandwich with fries and said the same. Good mixed drinks and decent draft selection. 5th visit and will definitely be back again
Great food, cooked perfectly. Close to the hockey game and the Navy museum kept my kids happy which meant everyone was happy! Portions were huge so we would share meals next time. Looking forward to returning.
Had the chowder and the fish fry. Pretty good meal
We made our first visit to this place before a Sabres game. I had the roast beef sandwich which was very good. My wife opted for jambalaya and she liked it very much. Server was friendly and efficient.
The food was great. My broil fish was good but could have been cook more. Drinks were good my husband had the fish fry. Great portions, loved the French fries. Service was great. Told all my friends. Keep up the good work.
The baked cod was great! The Reuben special fell flat and really didn’t have much flavor.
Definitely make a reservation or you will be waiting.
Great spot on event nights!
