Perfect place to meet friends and enjoy a great meal! Chef Derek Davis does not disappoint! Plenty of outdoor seating and the big open windows bring the outdoors in!
Great food!! Loved it!
The food was divine, everything was prepared beautifully, and is definitely a must-visit restaurant in Philadelphia.
Really enjoyed our brunch - food was good, mimosas were a great price, the place was cute and the service was good!!
The food was fine. They were out of crab cakes which was disappointing. I was given one of two crab cakes but charged for two. My friend ordered steak salad. Some of the steak was overdone and some of it was significantly underdone.
Very very good. You should go here. Great balance of flavors.
The server, host and the entire staff were very pleasant and hospitable! Apps and entrees were a little on the bland side except the filet with chimichuri and grits. That was out of this world. Desserts were decadent and to die for. Service was slow. Now they were short staffed like the rest of the world and had a server leave early due to an emergency and we felt it. Manager presence was lacking and probably could have saved the service. A simple table visit with an apology would have sufficed. Food was prepared excellent just Bland. Need to revisit the basics. Would probably try again on a week night.
tried few drinks and didn't like it, pure sugar. service was really bad. waitress was confusing tables. food being brought from kitchen and wondering around tables asking who ordered what. good luck if table next to you ordered the same thing. i ordered beer and it never came. we were there during restaurant week and nobody offered regular menu. tried some dishes that are not on regular menu and it wasn't good, my stake was drowning in oil (no exaggeration).
Even though they were understaffed, our server(Alexis) was awesome.
The staff was very friendly.
Nice to be out again in Center City and Libertine was fun, welcoming and a nice restaurant week find.
Have wanted to try the old 'Westbury space' for awhile now. Believe it had been closed for a bit, like many places during Covid. We had a nice time, dining outside, on a very nice Friday May night. My only complaint, like others, is that the service was VERY slow... Believe the owner has commented on that, but there didn't appear to be any info shared while we were dining (sorry, food will be out shortly, etc.). There didn't seem to be any issue as far as the staff was concerned, but we waited a very long time after getting drinks, to ordering, then a VERY long time until our food came out (just sandwiches). I would definitely try this place again, especially as the world returns to normal...
This place was cute, clean and the food was fresh.
I will def come back.
Our experience was great. The waiter was awesome and our food was delicious!
For starters we got roasted beets and the burratta/tomatoes & split both.
We couldn't decide so we got a Crabcake appetizer and a Crabcake sandwich for mains.
All was excellent.
Bartender makes the tonic for G&T! And the LizTaylor cocktail with gin & prosecco was so good we had a second round.
The experience at Libertine was awful. From the moment we walked in, the staff acted extremely disgruntled and unethused. When we sat down, it took fifteen minutes for us to see our waitress and put our drink orders in. We sat for another thirty minutes after receiving our drinks, waiting to put our food orders in. After being seated for a total of fifty minutes and not having seen our waitress since receiving our drinks, we left cash at the table and left to go to Bud and Marilyn’s, where the service was amazing and we were able to eat and drink in a timely manner. We were extremely disappointed with the service at Libertine and we could tell neighboring tables were having an equally awful experience. I would not recommend and will never return.
To put it lightly, we are mortified by your comments. True, like everybody else in this world we are having trouble staffing our restaurant. Each day gets a little better but after being closed for a year we are certainly having a hard time getting up to speed. I so apologize for your experience and pray that you will find it in your heart to give us another try. Please ask for me when you come in and I will take care of you personally! Derek Davis
Not good, but the staff understood and were having issues that night. But overall, yikes!
True, we had many issues the night you dined with us. Obviously, we , like most other restaurants are understaffed and we are hoping to hire more folks. Hopefully as the covid restrictions lift and the younger people all get vaccinated we vcan get up to speed. Please, when you return, ask for me and I'll make double the effort to ensure you have a wonderful time. Derek
Its a safe bet for a last minute reservation. I believe they had just reopened from CV-19 shutdown and i think our servers was the only server on that day. Previous visits had been better.
You are correct, we had just reopened and we are having trouble, just like the rest of the world, hiring staff for the right levels. Hopefully with the young people being fully vaccinated the hiring shortage will alleviate. We sure hope to see you again!
Food and drinks were delicious and the staff was friendly, kind, and responsive. My only complaint was I got the burrata appetizer and it had the tiniest little sliver of burrata so I had to ask for more because it was ridiculously tiny. Otherwise everything was absolutely wonderful and I’d highly recommend.
Great happy hour and very friendly service! Will visit again.
This is the best restaurant in the area right now! Food is exceptional, service is so amazing and it’s nice and open to the street!
Cute place and was looking forward to it. I love the colors. Wait staff was super nice. Unfortunately I found a hair in my food. They were quick to correct but kinda turned me off. Also, was a large bday party there and they of course had a right to be there but just makes it super noisy.
Amazing ambience amazing atmosphere and most of all amazing food and great customer service
We are so happy that Libertine reopened! It is one of our favorite neighborhood places. Casual and classy. Great small plates and wine list. Awesome happy hour with all wines half price. Chef Derek and staff are super friendly. Highly recommended!
I have only been there for Brunch and it is always delicious. The owner is very pleasant and seems to make sure he talks to everyone in the restaurant.
Fun venue with terrific servers. Great pre-theatre or concert.
I've eaten here three times and never had bad service or bad food. The food, in fact, is incredible. This is our go-to restaurant after seeing the Philly Pops. It's a block from the Kimmel Center and a block from a PATCO station. But it would definitely be worth the trip even if it was a hike. Love the food, the wine selection, and the staff. We will keep coming back. I have recommended Libertine to two different people and they both loved it, too.
Excellent dinner. Fire roasted eggplant was outstanding. Small intimate venue with great service.
Enjoyed thoughtful and delicious cookies on the way out!
Innovative casual menu.
Fabulous brunch - best in Philadelphia
My first time eating at this restaurant. I am vegetarian and have a restricted diet as well. They were so accommodating, it made the meal l even better for me. The food was delicious, everything was fresh and as described on the menu. Other people I dined with thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. I got the autumn roasted vegetables, which was delicious, not oily at all. My main entree was the ravioli and that was fabulous! We also had dessert, I had the gelato-tasty and not too heavy. My friends had the S'mores, which they said was like a lava cake with marshmallow, plus the graham crackers brought it all together. Definitely will return.
The crab spaghetti is so good. We also had lamb meatballs and French onion soup. All so delish and the servers were very attentive. My husband had a beer that comes with a shot - he said it was really good.
I had a reservation for 2 and changed it to 3 when we got there. The hostess was very pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely return on our next visit to the area.
First time to this restaurant. Nice, small and cozy with very friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious; all courses. This is a great place to go before any show on the Avenue of the Arts. Service was efficient and timely and then a short walk back to just about any venue.
Excellent good, wonderful service. We'll be back for sure.
Initial greeting by the seTver took at least 15 minutes. The pace of the meal was also slow. We arrived at 5:30, but found ourselves having to double-time it to the theater for a 7:30 curtain. Disappointing. But the food did not disappoint.
Great food, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service. Enjoyed everything. Definitely will be returning to try the rest of the menu!
Everything was great. I highly recommend ordering the Charlie Sheen!!
Great experience all around, from being greeted and seated by Derek himself, to the fabulous friendly and personal service by Fred,we had a wonderful meal and felt special treatment all night long! We’ve been fans of Derek since his Manayunk days, and he continues to deliver delightful comfort food in a cozy setting where you’re made to feel like houseguests and not just customers. Will go again and again. Particularly for the secret chicken, the drinks, the roasted eggplant appy, and the real conversations with the man behind the meals.
Chef Derek was awesome! You could tell he really cares about his business and customer experience. The food was awesome, the drinks were awesome, and the service was awesome!
