Located in Midtown Village, Libertine is Derek Davis’s contribution to the Philadelphia food scene and celebrates the history and future of our great city. Chic, sophisticated and playful, the indoor dining and bar area with seasonal outdoor seating running along the entire length of the property at Spruce and 13th Streets.     Went for restaurant week! Loved the peach and blueberry salad and the chicken. Got the apple pie for dessert, just wish it was warm! Stormy Daniels drink was sooo good!

    The meal was delicious from beginning to end. The pastrami short ribs were as good as they sound, if not better, and they didn’t skimp on portions. The drinks, apps, and dessert were also creative and delicious. This place is an all-around winner.

    Everything took way too long to get to the table. We should have finished dinner an hour earlier. Staff did the best they could, but they seemed overwhelmed. Food was hit or miss depending on the plate. The lobster bisque was cold, the apple pie was cold, the funnel cake was hard. I picked this place for my co workers and I am embarrassed. I hate writing poor reviews, but it’s the truth. This place could improve.

    The drinks and dessert are positively awesome. I'd go back just for those! Dinner was good but by far the drink and dessert menu stand alone. Great ambiance and wonderful staff.

    I love Libertine restaurant. We've tried many dishes from dinner and brunch menus, and none have disappointed. I'm especially a fan of the secret recipe chicken, which I'd amazingly tender and juicy.

    Early dinner before a show. The drinks were fabulous, particularly the Wilt Chamberlain. The salads were quite good. The Lobster Bisque, a restaurant week feature was tasty but the portion is surprisingly small.

    Our 2nd pre-musical dinner there in a row and we have no complaints. We ate every bit of our delicious entrees and desserts. We like sitting indoors right next to the big open window.

    We had a great meal, attentive service, and they were very friendly and acknowledged my timing concern due to theater tickets at 8 pm. Our table was ready before we even arrived and they sat us immediately upon arrival. They had us on our way with plenty of time to make the walk to the theater but we never felt rushed during our meal. We will try to get back here again the next time we are in town.

    This was a nice little place to grab a bite. The cocktails were delicious, the food was good (although the portions were a little small for the price) and the service was excellent. Not sure why it was so empty on a Friday night but I'd definitely go back!

    Food is always creative and well executed. The romaine salad with grilled chicken was delicious with just the right amount of dressing. The orichette with asparagus cooked perfectly and appropriately proportioned.

    Food was good but not fantastic. Probably a little overpriced for what it was. The main thing I noticed was how overly salty items were. I like salt, but these were on the edge of being salty enough they would need to be sent back.

    Super convenient if going to a show at the Kimmel, John was an excellent server. Food was okay, not spectacular. Nice drinks and a good deal with $5 Bloody Mary or mimosa during brunch.

    We had a wonderful dinner celebrating my sister in laws birthday. It was also our first time taking our infant son to dinner and the staff was so accommodating and kind. The food, drinks, and service were excellent and we look forward to coming back! Don’t skip on dessert.

    Review is for brunch. -there was a major issue with the table and they refused to move us, despite many open tables that stayed empty during our visit. - the toast bar had no tongs and patrons had their hands all over the baked goods. - food was cold & not as described on menu. For example, pastrami hash was made with bacon, and not much of it. - dishes served with sad, sugary, canned fruit. - waiter was overbearing and interrupted us often. -This place has forgotten about hospitality. The terrible weather was the only reason we stayed. Will never go here again. With so many other superior choices for brunch, it’s not worth risking the bad experience here.

    Wow! So sorry to hear about your experience. I can assure you this is not the norm. I will look into why you could not be moved and will also seek to understand why there were no tongs or deli paper on the toast bar. Trust me, we cut the fruit fresh daily and it is never canned PLUS I personally make the Pastrami for the hash and can assure you it was not bacon. Please give us another try, on me.     Our reservation was for 4 on OpenTable, but they had us down for 2. They were kind enough to provide us a free round of drinks while we waited and were quite apologetic about it. Shrimp appetizer was like rubber; saying it was overcooked would be an understatement. However, even after that, the rest of the food was really good and the atmosphere was great. The noise level was just right - conducting a conversation was no problem. Also, the staff was quite friendly.

    Lovely place to have refreshing and unique cocktails. Would definitely go back for the cocktails. Our appetizers were ok. The grilled shrimp were tough. My dinner (crab cakes) were so salty, I couldn't eat them. The chef agreed and kindly took it off our bill. Josh our waiter was amazing and so kind. He felt badly about my dinner and gave us a coupon for a complimentary cocktail or appetizer.

    The wait staff was lovely and the sangria was refreshing but my “pappardelle” was in fact over cooked fettuccine with a watery and tasteless bolognese sauce. Disappointing.

    Stopped here for brunch with some friends. Food and service were quite good. I had the pepperoni pizza skillet which, while seemingly simple, is something I'd come back for again and again. Dinner menu looks good; I'll be sure to try that.

    This place is a hidden gem. Chef Derrick has interesting menu choices & the happy hour selections & prices can't be beat. The staff really makes this place, though; Nancy, Dylan Josh & Derrick always take time to talk. A wonderful place to eat.

    Great meal, lovely restaurant, excellent ambience.... but. Our server did not seem to be in a good place to be working, nearly threw an entire meal over one of us, was erratic and confused at times, and became belligerent and unreasonable when we tried to pay the bill. This was largely down to her confusion. We gave her a 20% tip on a very large bill and she became very angry that is was not enough. Eventually it became clear that she could not do the math. Spoiled on otherwise great evening.

Repeatedly, the server you had mentioned has some of the nicest comments, so I am miffed at what happened with you. Could you have possibly been a larger group that asked for separate checks? This scenario is always likely to confuse a server. Again, I'm sorry for your experience and hope you will find your way to see us again.

    For a restaurant in a mid-level hotel, Libertine is amazingly good. The red snapper fish of the day was excellent, and the roast chicken was moist and served with seasoned fries that did not disappoint. Save room for dessert....the house-made ice cream is smooth and tasty and served with a buttery chocolate chip cookie.

    Libertine accommodated our very large group, even with a last minute increase to the party size. Our server Josh was attentive, helpful with the menu, and really engaging with our table. We really enjoyed our time!
