My husband and I just got married on New Year's Day and we are still in the honeymoon stage. We really enjoyed the afternoon tea . My husband has never experienced this and I thought it would be something fun for us to do together which it was.
Afternoon tea with a long time friend at Liberte Lounge was very pleasant. Friday afternoon was obviously a busy time and we were seated in the restaurant area, not the lounge. Tea assortment was pleasant and the assortment of tea sandwiches and sweet treats were tasty. We stopped in late in the day, 3 pm. The bread for all of the sandwiches as well as the deviled egg had obviously lost moisture sitting all day. It would have been courteous to check if we'd like more tea and we were satisfied with things. Service was largely unnecessary once tea treats were served.
The service was great, food tasty. We went the year before also but it was better this year. Food was up scaled and customer service was friendly and personal. Will go again.
Had an excellent time at high tea. Had a 3:00 reservation, was significantly early and they accommodated us with no problem. Excellent selection, attentive waitstaff. Will go again
We totally enjoyed the Afternoon Tea at the Sofitel. Our waiter, Miguil, was incredible - very efficient and very charming. The array of items offered - scones, tea sandwiches, pastries -- as well as gourmet tea itself - was ideal. Very enjoyable meal!!
We loved it! Great selection of teas! Macaroons were great!
My friend had never been to high tea, and she was pleased with ours. But I've been to several high teas, and this wasn't the "event" it should be. While the food was good, my pot of tea was lukewarm when it arrived, and the scones were tiny compared to the large bowls of clotted cream and lemon curd on the table.
Service was great. Very polite and tentative
Tea was hot and delicious
Tiered tea cakes/sandwiches were sub par
Overly dry scones, sandwiches nothing I would eat again (egg was well done)
Desserts on the bottom were very sub par, a pumpkin roll in February? The macaroon was the winner. The donut hole was dry and when dipped in the Hershey's sauce was worse if possible.
Great idea for tea for two but food was lacking
My friend and I came for the afternoon tea on a Sunday. The staff and service was great. The ambiance could've been better. The food was mediocre. The savory items were better than the sweet. There was four savory items, two biscuits, and four sweet items. They all came in twos so we can each have one. I got the toffee tea and a glass of champagne - both okay. Nothing stood out to me. I probably won't be back. I'm glad I had a coupon.
When we arrived to this location the were no longer serving the full menu. Save yourself a trip if you are interested In the full menu.
Fine, but probably wouldn't go back, there are just so many better options in philly. The ambience and decor are great, service was great, and I really liked the signature Liberte cocktail, but the food was just fine.
Excellent food. Very pleasant and charming waiter who was efficient and knowledgeable. Not a Victorian atmosphere tea room--more sophisticated hotel modern style. Delightful time and will return. Used a discount coupon which made it reasonably priced. Without it, would have been expensive. A drink --mimosa or similar, made it special, and was included.
Staff was fantastic. Nice setting and ambiance. Food was disappointing at best. Cheese appetizer was poorly done. The pear spread wasn’t even completely cooked as it was mainly pears in a granular brown sugar mess. The pasta itself was well prepared as far as texture but the mushroom sauce was pretty much tasteless brown water. Disappointing is the nicest way to describe this dining experience. Reminded me why I usually don’t dine in hotel restaurants
It was a nice afternoon tea experience with friends!
My husband & I visited this restaurant for an early Valentine's afternoon tea. The service was wonderful as well as the whole tea experience.
Had another lovely afternoon tea experience at the Liberte Lounge! Service was excellent--the staff was attentive and good humored. The tea service was delicious. I wish they'd described the tea sandwich options in case we wanted to make any substitutions. I also wish there had been a slightly wider variety of teas. There were only a few choices that were decaffeinated. The scones were delicious, as well as the macaroons!
reserved through open table for afternoon tea at 2:30. Changed the reservation to 5 successfully through open table. Got there at 4:55. Was told that tea hour ends at 5 and they could not seat us. There was no remediation . Horribly poor service.
I purchased a discounted Afternoon Tea from Travel Zoo for me, my sister, my mom and my son's girlfriend. We had so much fun and the food was delicious. This is something we would definitely do again. The only thing we noticed is that the tea is not served in authentic tea cups :-(
Went for afternoon tea with a coupon. Overall a surprising good tea and we left full and satisfied. A nice variety of scones, small sandwiches, and dessert. Tea was an excellent quality and we had a champagne, mimosa, or Bellini toast. We went at 1pm on a Sunday and were the first people to arrive so it was really quiet, but I think the kitchen was surprised by our reservation as we were told the reservations usually start at 2pm. Still they readied for us with all haste and we had a lovely afternoon,
Lots of highs, and a few slight annoyances:
Staff (Great job) - super friendly staff, remembered my name from the reservation throughout lunch, gave me utensils when I took the dessert to go. everyone was super friendly. Minor thing - waited about 1 minute, maybe 2, to be seated as there was no one at the podium when I came in.
Food (Very good) - All the food looked amazing.
App: the tuna was very buttery in texture (and I wish I could have slurped up the sauce/broth it was immersed in). Slightly under-seasoned for me, but still very good.
Entree: the duck confit was good, some parts were super tender, other parts of the duck leg harder to chew. The arugula salad with the crispy duck skin instead of croutons was AMAZING!
Dessert: still in my fridge, looked amazing.
Price - it was restaurant week... I love restaurant week!
Thanks for the quiet delicious lunch!
When we walked in there was no hostess to greet us. After a while longer a waitress came to advise us that the hostess will be with us shortly. He did not appear until about another 10 minutes. We were then seated and waited another 20 minutes for the waitress to ask us if we wanted any drinks. We decided to order our meals, because we did not want to have our drinks and not order in another half an hour. Our meals arrived cold! I ate it because I did not want to wait another second. The waitress barely checked on us. My husband had to take the silverware from another table, because the waitress forgot to give us eating utensils for our desserts, which when we finally tasted it was pretty good. The meal was cold so that was not good.
The food was delicious and the waitstaff very friendly and professional. Atmosphere was elegant and cozy.
Worst service - SLOW
This place was amazing. Probably hands down the best duck confit I’ve ever had. Would definitely come back here again.
Pleasant staff and most importantly succulent food with great sides pairings.
Fully satisfied 👌🏻
The food and place was great but the service was very slow. We were there for two hours. The first course came out pretty cool but the second and third course too a very long time.
Service was great. Tea sandwiches were not ones that I enjoyed. They were a little different from the norm.
We had a tea for my friend’s 50th birthday. It was great! The food was fabulous and the staff was great!
50th birthday party for a friend. It was great fun and the food was wonderful! Sarah and the staff were fabulous.
The sandwiches, desserts and tea are terrific! This is a annual Travelzoo favorite.
On DEC 31st the restaurant was not doing tea service that day so we never go the change to dine.
excellent tea-- fresh made with hot enough water from excellent loose tea selection. food just ok and not worth the money. ambience excellent
We had great service from Shanika.
Apps were tasty and priced right.
Great customer service! Ask for Miguil and Sharita. They will make sure that you feel special for any occasion. I will def. visit again!
The staff were genial and our greeter was a hilarious but brief chatter which was welcomed while we awaited the arrival of our superb afternoon tea. I will definitely make a return visit in the near future.
Went there with a friend for Christmas eve and although the food we ordered was good, the limited menu prix fixe (the only thing available) was a overall disappointing. Excellent pork belly appetizer, so-so Prime rib with over-heavy sauce on top. Yule log cake (white and dark chocolate )the only choice (neither of which of interest to me).
Venue was lovely, maitre d excellent. Waiter not very attentive.
I'd try it again for a regular meal, but never this particular prix fixe.
Afternoon tea with coworker
Our Server went above and beyond!! They accommodated me after I made a mistake on the reservation and gave my friends and I a wonderful afternoon!!
The high tea is just not worth it. It wasn't very good and the chocolate sauce was very watered down.
Went for afternoon tea and had a wonderful time! Food was delicious and our server, Miguil was amazing!! Will definitely go again!!
Chris, the manager, was very accommodating to our group of 7. The food was great and it was quiet enough to hear each other. It's a great spot for a group.
