We had to wait about 20 minutes after our reservation time. They were packed and the service was very slow - had to ask to have water brought. Very noisy, but that was fine with us as we had a two year old with us. The food was OUTSTANDING! Best Brussels sprouts ever! Will go back.
Excellent meal and service. Mushroom ravioli was the best!
Delicious food with excellent service. From casual to gourmet choices there is something for everyone on the menu.
The lunch was very good. I had the rainbow trout fillet the other guest has the pecan crusted salmon. Both were very tasty and well presented. Service was excellent. Altogether a good experience.
Went after lunch hour, got seated immediately. Prompt service. Good interaction with staff
The staff is friendly and attentive, I really appreciate that. My drink (sidecar) was excellent. I had the ricotta and pear raviolini with duck ragout. The ragout was tasty but the raviolini were so tiny that their flavor didn’t really come through. I think regular size ravioli with more filling and a stronger cheese (Gorgonzola?) would be nice. I’d order the dish again if they changed it a little.
We dined at the restaurant at the recommendation of friends and our meals were even better than advertised. We started with the Bruschetta topped with gorgonzola, prosciutto and fig jelly. The slices of bread were large and piled high with prosciutto. I ordered the rigatoni Bolognese and my wife the sweet potato gnocchi. Both meals were delicious - the sauces rich, tasty and thick with plenty of meat in the Bolognese sauce. The only negative was the service which was unfriendly and perfunctory. I didn't feel like leaving a tip but was generous because of the quality of the meals.
I ordered a steak from the healthy menu. It was tough and chewy and not worth $28. Disappointing, Lia's.
Terrific food and service, as usual! And we appreciated being seated in the back room which was much quieter. Another lovely dinner at Lia’s!
Really great food, ambiance and service! The pre-6:30 specials are really a good bargain, but cooking is excellent and imaginative!
Fabulous food! Service was spotty, as I had to keep searching for anyone to assist.
However, the food was superb and we will definitely return.
Had a nice dinner with my parents and my family on a Sunday night. Service was great and we all enjoyed our meals!
one of a real Italian restaurant. Always enjoy their Happy Hours and especially their pizza
Great neighborhood restaurant. Pleasant, good service. They accommodated requests of changes to my order.
We come often and enjoy it.
Not the best experience, our server went away for few minutes without checking on us, table was not the best and food was okay, but nothing special.
Went for my sister's birthday brunch, first time for all of us. Parking is very convenient and was free with validation which always makes the experience better. Service was outstanding, and food was plentiful for cost, beautifully presented, and delicious. I would like to try this place for dinner sometime. Brunch had a good crowd, but the restaurant is nicely configured. Everything from coffee and mimosas, to the delicious bread, to the main entrees were wonderful. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Lia's has become one of our local favorites. We arrived 1 hour earlier than our Open Table reservation, and the manager was gracious enough to try to accommodate us. We settled in at the bar to wait for our friends and were pleasantly surprised that a table had been located on a Saturday night. The food was delicious and our server was awesome. Our kids were sad that they weren't invited to our dinner party as they looked forward to returning to Lias. Highly recommend this Chevy Chase gem.
Lia's is a favorite - never disappoints! Very interesting takes on traditional cuisine.
Fantastic food at each course with excellent cocktails and superb service
Like the ambiance, decent food not great, good service. Enjoyed it overall but didn't blow us away.
We went for Valentine's Day - which happened to fall on a Wednesday, which is Lia's half price bottle night, so we got some great bubbly to go with our meal. The food is really good. Lia's had a V-Day menu of Oyster Rockerfeller, Lobster Tortellini and a 12oz ribeye in cognac and blue cheese sauce - all very delicious. We also got an order of the fried calamari starter, which is one of my favorites, perfectly crispy and not oily! We shared an apple crostata for dessert, which was delicious! I love Lia's it is such good value for such great food. Good ambiance, always friendly service.
The food was rather uninspired particularly for the price (e.g. the ribeye was underseasoned, poorly seared, and oversauced and the potato-parsnip puree was flavorless). The music was too loud and the two-seaters felt so crammed together that there was no real opportunity for an intimate conversation that could not be easily overheard especially because we had to raise our voices to hear each other over the music. We were itching to leave rather than linger and order dessert and coffee. Two bright spots: the corn chowder was exceptional and the music playlist, despite being too loud, was great fun.
One rider late
Really enjoying this hidden gem! Look forward to our next visit!
Food terrific and waiter very attentive. Requested and got a very quiet table in back room - perfect for conversation.
Terrific service. Two people in our party (including me) had birthdays that night, and the evening was wonderful, in no small part because of the service, promptness of delivery, good recommendations and amenities. Would definitely recommend Lia's to anyone.
Always reliable for an excellent dinner, with attentive service and excellent wine!
Nice, casual dining. Friendly service. Good food. The noise level was low and allowed us to have a nice conversation with a friend we haven't seen in awhile. An enjoyable experience that was worth the 45 minute drive.
Lia's is always a great place to go for good dependable food at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and responsive to requests. Don't like the accompaniment to your main course? They will, within reason, replace it with something more to your liking. I think that we are there at least once a week. We really like Lia's
Lia's dining room is bustling. Went for dinner - there was a steady crowd and we know why. The food is delicious! There are creative selections for every palate. Recommend the salmon, the crispy brussel sprouts and the risotto - incredible. The service is also great - attentive and friendly. Can't ask for more. Love Lia's!
Excellent service, delicious food beautifully served. Will go again.
Long time friends from graduate school. My club sandwich with sweet potato fries was so good I had no room for dinner!
Food was excellent. Service was fantastic.
I met a friend at Lia's, and we enjoyed a very pleasant lunch. My friend -- who prefers to be gluten-free -- was pleased that a gluten-free menu was available and had many tasty options. We both ordered salads and were pleased with them.
Always enjoying eating here with the family. Food and service are excellent.
Food was good but the waitress was absent for most of the meal and then she decided to give herself a 30% tip by not bringing any change from the bill. Seriously??
The food was good and they have a gluten free menu even during restaurant week. But they offered bread to the table NOT gluten free. When I inquired about gluten free bread they wanted to charge me $3.00. They did not charge the table $3.00 for the pumpkin bread. Not Your Average Joes provides gluten free and regular bread to the table at no charge. Lias needs to step up. If you offer a gluten free menu then there should also be gluten free bread offered with the other bread to the table.
My husband and I had three guests. One canceled at the last minute and the other 2 arrived 15 minutes late. Servers were patient and did not pressure us. The restaurant was not full.
Except for the pizza and the bruchetta on the menu, most of the entrees didn't seem to be Italian. The crab dumplings were excellent; however, the eggplant appetizer was very dry and had too much breading. Also, the pieces of duck in the salad entrée was more breading than duck. The trio of sorbets for dessert would have been nicer if each one was a separate flavor. As it was, three large scoops of the sorbet was boring. The service was quite slow; two hours for lunch. Even though it was Restaurant Week, we were there later in the afternoon and the service did not pick up although the waiter was friendly.
Waited 50 minutes past reservation. Food was so-so. Coffee watered down.
