The service was great and we really enjoyed our meal.
Excellent food. It's tough to please everyone at the table equally, and Lia's did. Very good value. A neighborhood favorite.
The food at Lia's has always been good. The waiter this time seemed overwhelmed and it may have been because it was Thanksgiving. This would not deter me from returning to the restaurant
Our servers April and her team excelled beyond our expectations. All were friendly and competent.
Excellent salmon, terrific hamburgers, amazing desert of donuts
I responded to the intriguing email marketing of their Thanksgiving dinner, and decided to "eat in." I'm glad I did, because the setting is very pleasant and the staff was terrific (accommodating, just the right amount of attention, etc.). I chose the cauliflower steak for the appetizer and it was unusual and absolutely delicious. The main course - the Thanksgiving dinner - was ample but not nearly as good. Oh well. I still enjoyed the day, the cauliflower steak convinced me they have an interesting kitchen, and I will be back for more.
3 star experience overall. The crispy calamari & cauliflower steak were the best part of the meal. The turkey dinner was missing the stated mashed potatoes, when this was brought to the kitchen’s attention, we were served a bland, pasty serving of the potatoes. The Brussels were overdone, the turkey breast meat was better than the dark meat! On the whole disappointing, as was the mushroom gnocchi, absent truffle flavor, with copious amounts of mixed mushrooms & dense mushroom gnocchi. Of the dessert choices the apple crisp was adequate & the pumpkin pie was delicious. Brionna provided attentive service. So the 3 stars-1 each for the appetizers, dessert & service. I would return for the cauliflower steak!!!
Sat outside. With two heaters we were very comfortable.
A very pleasant experience. Interesting menu. Food and service were great. Conveniently located in Friendship Heights.
Poor food quality
Grilled fish and salads were great. Desserts too.
We loved the cauliflower appetizer! To our great surprise, it came lathered with a glaze-like sauce, flecked with pine nuts, raisins and mushrooms. And the main course--a large tuna steak, thin-sliced and rare (at our request)--was fabulous! We also appreciated the chef's willingness to substitute green vegetables (I had spinach and my friend had broccoli) for the usual potatoes.
Best of all, we were seated in a quiet alcove in the backroom, which we were able to avoid the almost deafening sound of the noisy dinner crowd in the main diningroom. As a result, we were able to have a quiet conversation despite the popular hour. Of course, the price of this was infrequent appearances of our waiter, with long waits for wine and bread, but all in all it was worth it!
All the dishes were great, including the short-ribs, tuna with a range of tasty mushrooms and the pastas. Service was attentive. Only challenge is that when almost full, the room is very noisy- they need some sound adsorbing material on the ceiling. Brussel sprouts were good appetizer to split.
Always have a fabulous time when we go to Lia’s. The managers make their rounds and are so helpful. Liz always stops by our table for a quick chat and checking everything is in good order.
Lia’s is wonderful - the food is always good and the ambience is wonderful.
The staff work as a fantastic team that creates a great high-spirited energetic atmosphere to ensure guests are happy and enjoy the experience. Food is delicious and a great value in the DC / MoCo area.
Food was great, service was fantastic and the ambiance was perfect. It was our first time there and will not be our last!
Lovely brunch. We ate indoors because too nippy and no one was
there so we were very covid comforable. The staff was very helpful and the food good.
Lia’s is always our favorite place for special occasions and every day dining! We sat outside under cover with a heat lamp on each side of our table and were delighted with the ambience, the food and the service that we have grown to count on! We will return!
Great as always. Just noisy.
As usual, the food was consistently excellent at Lia's. The lamb burgers, the salmon, the salads with calamari were all great. Service was terrific--Thank you Lila!!! And our late lunch (2:00) in the back room was nice and quiet where the two in our party with hearing issues could have a great conversation and not worry at all about being heard or hearing others. We are delighted to have Lia's in our neighborhood!!!
Lia's is one of our favorite restaurants. It has good food, good service, good ambiance, and good value. What more could one ask of a restaurant?
Celebrated birthdays. Great place for evening out
Great food and service.
First time and the experience was amazing! Not too crowded and fast and fresh food. Not as much seasoning on the food as I’d like but it didn’t diminish the quality or flavor of the food at all! Plum bourbon was awesome, too! I’ll definitely be back!
Always consistently good. Awesome food choices and always tastes superb. Service is one of the best I have experienced. Never fails to be a great place to dine.
We were delighted to obtain an outdoor table for an early dinner and, as requested in advance, had a heater located next to us.
Servers were pleasant and the food at Lia's is reliably good.
However, two of us (total of 4) had salads and asked for bread. The bread, which servers kept saying was "baked to order," did not arrive until we were finished with our meals.
It was frustrating and disappointing.
Moreover, about 2/3 of the way through our meal someone walked over and whisked away the heater without inquiring if that was ok. It was getting darker and cooler and was NOT ok but we did not say anything about it.
We are fans of Lia's and regular customers. This was an unpleasant experience that I hope will not be repeated.
Easy and delicious dining in our neighborhood
We love Lias
great food and nice service. highly recommend for Saturday brunch. They also stamp parking ticket. A plus for the neighborhood.
Food is mediocre. Like an Italian chain restaurant.
Wonderful server on the lovely patio.
Server was outstanding. She is a star and please make sure you take care of her.
Great food and atmosphere. Lia's is consistently a wonderful dining experience
After years of loving Lia’s, yesterday was a big
Super food. Servers were attentive. The outdoor patio was wonderful- umbrellas for shade and sun if you wanted it. Lovely day!!
Food fair service not great. I was disappointed.
Service was terrific. Food not so much. Surprising that items I have ordered many times were just not right. Chef must have been off last night. Fried calamari were dry and overcooked. Salad was limp spinach. Pizza was soggy
Good food options, well prepared and served with attention and a smile.
The food was DELICIOUS! However, next time I’ll do take out instead because service was lousy. We tipped our server very well understanding the COVID-19 environment, but we had to constantly ask for new utensils and plates and we were given steak knives and tiny coffee plates instead and no serving utensils came with our dishes althoigh wr made it clear we were sharing everything. We order several dishes and had to add a 2-seater table to accommodate our small table but we had to do this on our own. We also ordered take out and also explained what was for whom and our server did not care.
