I would definitely recommend Lia's to friends. However, I would also recommend they stop somewhere else for dessert! They were not worth wasting calories on. One was 'freezer burned' and another was undercooked. Not a pleasant way to end a nice meal.
Very good selection, food was delicious. I came for dinners previously. Service was more professional and timely during the dinner time visits althught the restaurant was more busy at that time. Overall, great restaurant to eat and have a conversation with friends.
It was after our regular evening workout that we arrived at Lia's. The bar was had a few seats open, so we decided to sit there for dinner. Service was very attentive and professional and the food was very good. The menu selections are plentiful and the food is obviously carefully prepared and presented.
Great deal for DC restaurant week! Food was delicious, would come again!
Our server only interacted with one person at the table. As a result, we had to repeat every request, which subsequently increased our wait time for everything. The manager comp'ed our drinks as a result of the delay. Who doesn't appreciate a free drink, however, no one wants to be ignored either.
The food was very good as was the service. The first table we were given was in a very drafty location. We asked to move and that was taken care of very quickly but I'm not sure why the restaurant was not set up to have a curtain or some other partition as it was a cold evening in January. The girls at the desk must have been freezing as they were getting hit with a blast of cold air every time someone came in.
Food was just ok. Pear and cranberry crisp dessert was so overly sweet it was an unpleasant way to end the meal
Food is good and the restaurant week special is an actual good deal.
The Restaurant Week lunch was an unbelievable bargain. I took the middle course home for my dinner.
We did not have a great experience at this restaurant week lunch. The service was not attentive and was extremely slow - so slow that we ran out of time and had to leave before dessert. I found myself wondering if the kitchen was short staffed, and maybe the dining room staff too. While the Brussels sprouts starter was quite good, I wasn’t wowed by anything else. It was fine but for the price not impressive. I think the food at Panera is just as good and a whole lot cheaper. Perhaps over time, Lia’s is sliding.
Went there for restaurant week (they have the best RW option as they open up almost their entire menu for RW). The food was good. Our server was friendly and attentive. Thank you
They make their pasta on site so it is always the best.
The Restaurant Week deal is terrific -- everything on the regular menu is among the options. It was mobbed at lunch, but despite that the service was excellent and the waiter was attentive. Mac and Cheese appetizer and entree salad with Maple Salmon were very good; dessert -- pear and cranberry crumble -- was overly sweet and a bit disappointing. But overall, a really good experience.
Jason was spot on with his suggestions, food came out perfectly and this was by far the best restaurant week deal I’ve had. I will definitely be coming back.
I made a reservation for four as part of DC Restaurant week. This was my first time dining at Lia's, and my husband and I will definitely return in the future. Everyone at our table was very satisfied with their starter, entree, and dessert choices and the service was fantastic.
92 birthday celebration and server and manager was great.
Lia's has the best restaurant week, barr none! The mussels were the best I've had since Belgium, and the salmon Cobb salad was outstanding! My friend was equally pleased and plans to bring her family (I'm already a regular).
Good menu with options for everyone. Good food.
The number of family with kids is increasing - perhaps it was an unusually high number that night.
We love dining at LIA’S! Went on the earlier side of dinner because our middle school aged girls were with us, service was attentive but not completely consistent. We think it may have been due to the early time and staff just coming together as opposed to later when they have a solid flow. Food was excellent as always!
Really enjoyed our evening at Lia's - the food was delicious, service was attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.
We eat here all the time and love the food, the staff, and the environment. In the summer, we are here at least once a week sitting outside and enjoying the food and the weather.
My favorite restaurant. Never fails to serve a delicious meal.
We typically go here several times a year and the experience is consistently good.
Loved the new bartender on NYE, and the new menu, and the extra decorations!
Our previous visit to Lia’s was not stellar. This time it was a wonderful evening. Our waiter was excellent. The food was delicious.
Lia's doesn't disappoint, and having Christmas eve dinner there was an enjoyable experience. The food is always good.
It was Christmas Eve dinner. Waitress seemed overwhelmed. Ordered 2 bottles of wine when dinner order was given, but wine didn’t show up until we were half way through eating our entrees
We enjoyed the food and the service!
Great Christmas Eve meal and fantastic service!
Rachel, our server was excellent. We all took her recommendations and loved every thing we ordered! Great service, great food, great experience.
Second time celebrating Christmas Eve at Lia’s. Food was wonderful and it is a big restaurant, but still feels warm for the holiday
Th3e food, as always, is great... the ambiance in the bar was very relaxed and our server was very attentive.
Attentive service; table was ready at specified time. Food was excellent and fresh. Busy restaurant was not too loud. Appreciated the mirrors along the walls for people seated with back to the dining room. Would definitely go back.
It was our first time dining there and with all the great food options we said we'd definitely go back to try different food. We went to celebrate my moms 91st birthday and she loved it. They gave us a sweet desert to honor her, which was such nice touch.
Ordered a salad with salmon. They forgot the salmon and then my meal was delayed while my friends ate and the salmon was a bit over cooked.
Easy to carry on a conversation.
Enjoyed the Barolo.
Wild boar ragu dish was very good.
$19 special is a great offering.
Prefer a simple green side salad.
Lia's is one of our favorite spots, whether sitting at the bar for appetizers and dinner or in the dining room, we are always pleased. It's truly a neighborhood gem. The food and service are exceptional. The free parking is a bonus. Highly recommend this tried and true favorite.
