as always we make a stop at Liam's when we come to south padre. The food, is as good as ever, however, they did not have what everyone wanted on the list. no ceveche, and not flounder, and no steak. but what we did order, was as great as ever.

Our server forgot to take one of our party of four order. She apologized profusely, and it was fine. All of the meals we had were good. What I didn’t like was that she left her tray full of our dirty dishes right next to our table and didn’t come back for 10 minutes or so. She moved it about 4 feet over next to another table while she brought the dessert tray. Just a little less than classy.

This is a very good restaurant which is mis-managed into an average restaurant. It starts with parking, which you will have to fight hard for on fireworks nights, as every freeloader on the island is parking in their lots while they do nothing to insure their patrons have somewhere to park. Simple fix that they continue to ignore. Food has potential but steaks not cooked to anywhere close to correct ordered temperature. Have watched this restaurant steadily decline over the past couple years.

Liam's was a wonderful place to eat a romantic dinner. We ate inside facing the water. The service was quick. The food was fabulous -- the Shrimp and Oysters were very tasty. It wasn't that expensive. And the homemade coconut creme pie was to die for. We'll be back.

There was a stench, once you walked in, and it was like 90 servers, looking at you and standing around. The food was mediocre and unfortunately we were sitting by a table full of old loud women who are drunk.

Food was great! Service a little below average. Our server didn’t really come around to check on us and we had to ask for her on a couple occasions even though it was a relatively slow evening now that summer guests have thinned out.

We enjoyed one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Our server Barouche (sp) was FANTASTIC. The ceviche was wonderful, followed by oyster Rockefeller (the best I have ever had by far), then Snapper Rockefeller, then for dessert Liam's Chocolate BOMB!!!! Get your video on your camera ready for dessert. Wonderful evening and FOOD!

Liams used to be quite the spot to have a very nice dinner out. Our dinner was not good at all. The fish tasted old and the veggies were hard as rocks. The only good thing was the drinks we ordered. We will not be going back which is sad as it used to be a favorite of our.

I’ve been eating at Liam’s for years. Some occasions the food is better than others. On this visit, the mahi mahi was over cooked and the Tuscan soup was cold when served. However, the calamari and the bread were on point. I used to order the ribeye but it never meets the standard for the price charged so I have elected to never order it again. It always serves as if it were select versus choice/angus. The desert option that my daughter was looking forward to was not available as well. We were told that the chocolate was as not available. I would recommend as there have been visits that have been good but just not consistent.

Atmosphere was enjoyable, drinks were great, food was good but we expected a bit more for the price point. Husbands steak was cooked to perfection but, unfortunately, the red fish was unavailable for the Rockefeller dish and flounder was substituted. Being from the coast, I can confidently share that it was quite fishy and shouldn’t have been. I opted to only eat the shrimp on top, instead. Things would have been fine but our server was impersonable and seemed annoyed; making for an even less-enjoyable experience. I do not believe we will return.

The steak was undercooked first returned it second steak was overcooked sent it back third steak thin and tough overcooked also for 54.00 a steak it’s not worth your time! I know the owner have contacted him hopefully he will respond I’m willing to give them a second chance if they offer!

The server was very attentive initially and did a great job. However, once the restaurant filled up she had a lot more tables and wasn't able to check in with us. The crab cakes and the chocolate mousse cake didn't appear to be scratch-made but rather a food service product. The snapper rockafeller was good but the broccoli had no seasoning and was almost raw. The mashed cauliflower was very good. The restroom was out of soap and was untidy.

This was the second time I have dined at Liam’s, and the second time I have been disappointed. I brought a friend for dinner for her birthday. Before arriving she carefully read the menu as she cannot digest milk or cream products. She decided on the Shrimp Ixtapa as the menu did not indicate there were milk or cream in the dish. Several other dishes listed cream as an ingredient. She even made sure that the waiter did not include sour cream on her potato telling him she could not tolerate it. Sure enough, dinner arrived and the dish had cream in it as well as cheeses. She asked to speak to the manager who told her well we can’t put everything down on the menu. The decor is very dated (think red and black), and the restaurant had a strange odor when we arrived. When we were leaving, the manager had his nose in his phone, did not apologize or say goodbye. I was sorely disappointed as was my guest. I will mention that the manager did remove the charge for the entre from our bill, but my friend leaving with an upset stomach was awful.

They didn’t have the prime rib. The Salmon we got was ok but way overpriced, couldn’t eat the asparagus not good! And everything was cold! The old Liam’s was better, service was better. Overall I won’t be going back!

The food and service was great but there were toooo many flies flying around the restaurant. We were tempted to leave but we didn’t because all the other nice restaurants were booked. So we stayed put, we love the Roma Paste and carb cakes.

I got the bone in ribeye and it was not cooked correctly and had very little flavor. I have never sent back a steak before. This was the first time. The inside was cold and red. I ordered medium rare. For a steakhouse, I expected the steak to be be cooked right and have great flavor, so this was a huge disappointment. The lobster bisque tasted like cheeseburger hamburger helper. The other items we had around the table were good like the prime rib sandwich, bacon wrapped shrimp, and ceviche. My wife loved the sangria. The deserts were good as well. We had key lime pie and crème brûlée. If the steak had flavor and was cooked medium rare then this review would have been much better.

The oysters on the 1/2 shell tasted funky…glad we didn’t get sick. Only ate 3 of them. The steaks (ribeyes) were so tough felt like we needed a hacksaw to cut them. The lobsters were Tough and over cooked. Very very disappointing!!! And over priced.

My wife and I got the surf and turf. Both out lobster tails were extremely dry. My wife asked her her salad to be prepared a certain way and it was not done so according to her order. For the price, I expect more of the food.
