Liam's Steakhouse
Great food and service.
We ready enjoyed our experience here. We were sat immediately since we had reservations. Very good service and I ordered an old fashioned and it was excellent.
I ordered the ribeye and I have had the ribeye at the island location as well. The steak here was very easy to cut... knife went through like butter. I will say I liked the seasonings on the island location better.
Our chipotle corn came cold, but our waitress apologized and the situation was fixed very quickly and we appreciated their attention to this.
My wife had the filet and she enjoyed every bite
We had the coconut cream pie for dessert and it was very delicious
I highly recommend Liams... he was atmosphere and great food!
Great service, great food enjoyed with great friends!
Service was a bit slow since there weren’t too many people in the restaurant. We had to flag them down to get drink refills.
Oyster Rockefeller had more cheese than necessary.
Had an unfortunate bad experience at Liams Brownsville this NYE. At the end, the manager ended up taking care of most of the bill, but regardless, we are not going back to the Brownsville location for the foreseeable future. Our server, whom I cannot recall her name, was terrible and should not be working as a server, especially at a nice place like Liams. Joseph, the manager, knows who she is. After we ordered our drinks, one soda and two tequilas on the rocks, we waited forever. Keep in mind we did not order cocktails. I got my side salad before we got our drinks and had to remind her about our drinks. After about ten minutes that we had placed our order if not more, she came back to inform us they were out of salmon. Granted, they have two dishes on the menu that are salmon based, so the manager and kitchen dropped the ball on inventory. By the way, we had reservation at 7 PM, so it was still early in the evening for them to be running out of salmon. When she informed us that they were out of salmon, she did not bring us a menu so my wife could see what else to order. When we got our food, we asked for salt, pepper, and bread. We never got any of the three. My daughter had to ask her at least twice for a straw for her soft drink. My wife had also ordered a corn side dish, which we never got. After too many of these mishaps, I got up and asked the hostess to send over the manager. Joseph came over and asked what was wrong and we gave him the rundown. After saying he was surprised to hear our complaints because she had been doing a good job, he said he would make things right and in a way he did. I did tell him that servers and their work is a reflection of him as a manager, which he owned up to. Unfortunately, we have no plans to visit the Brownsville Liams location. Our first visit not too long ago was not great, and this one was just terrible. Hope the owner reads this post and makes changes. It's a shame because it's a nice place.
Food & wine was spectacular as always. Had a great time talking with the couple and their children from Harlingen next to me. Service was below par. When you ask for a utensil and wait so long you have to get up and get it yourself.... no bueno. I’ve been to Liam’s several times on South Padre and will continue to go back. Maybe attendant was new to the job. All is forgiven.
From the moment we entered until we left, we had a wonderful experience. The portions are bigger than I expected.
First time eating at the Brownsville Liam's location. We have dined at the one at SPI many times, but had not been to the Brownsville one. They did a very nice job with the interior of the place. It's attached to a Dirty Al's, which is their casual dining brand. But once you are inside Liams, it does look like a nicer steakhouse type establishment. The food was just as good as we have come to expect from this local chain. However, I wish they would up their liquor game, especially when it comes to tequila. By the way, same applies to the SPI location. They basically carry low-end brands like Don Julio, 1800, Hornitos, etc. There are much more interesting and higher quality brands they could offer. Their bourbon/whiskey selection is a bit better than the tequila offerings, but it could be better. Also, our server struggled with being able to name their liquor offerings. We had the same experience recently at their SPI restaurant. Minus that, Liams is worth visiting, especially for their food. It's nice to have one in Brownsville to not have to drive to SPI.
The food and service was amazing. The general manager at the restaurant was very friendly.
Service was a little slow but good
Food was outstanding like always at Liams! Music was loud but our server noticed and immediately fixed it! Definitely will come back
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.
I always feel like I am on vacation when dining at Liam's. Excellent professional service. Of course the cuisine is marvelous! Local gem!
Getting to the restaurant was confusing as opentable map shows it on a different place - staff wasn’t courteous when we called asking for help. Service was slow for a restaurant in this price point. However the food is delicious and the restaurant environment is great, I am coming back if I am in the area.
One of the most challenging nights to go out to dinner is St. VALENTINE'S Day Night. I was hosting a small birthday gathering for a family member and we were happy to book an early reservation at LIAM's.
We weren't aware of the Prix Fixe special meal...which seemed highly priced, so much so that my birthday guest wanted to leave. We were not couples, and everything about this meal was geared for two. What happens if there are three in the party? We negotiated everything among the six of us.
Two best parts: Manny, our table server was very helpful, engaging, and attentive. The Ribeyes and the Filets were excellent... perfectly prepared and delicious.
I would suggest that at this price, and outside the prix fixe, the cocktails could have been more generous. And, although, our service was attentive, waiting for the preparation of the courses was lengthy (which seemed strange as the menu was not extensive and we were early diners.). I do believe there should have been an alternative for the lighter eater.
Resolution: I might return to Liam's in the future, but it won't be on St. VALENTINE'S Day.
It was so dark we needed to use flashlight on phone to read menu. Food was fair. Boneless Ribeye was very fatty and just an OK flavor. Service was excellent. I wouldn't go back.
