We love the view the London House has. Few food options and little speendy so we just had a drink and enjoyed the view.
Views are great. Service is great. Was served raw chicken skewers... great place for drinks and views but wouldn’t recommend the food. Reservations made on open table for dinner will not be on the rooftop which was disappointing. $17.50 for a watered down martini.
No matter if you are staying, stopping for a drink or dinning LH 21, LH 22 and London House hotel staff will be helpful and always want to make you leave happy. Cocktails were delicious and food served well and with good portion size. Staff was extremely professional always taking care that everything was okay without being overbearing. I will definitely go back.
Everything was elegant and professional, we enjoyed our anniversary. The only thing that I was confused about at the beginning, since we wanted to have a table with a view, was inside and outside sitting - restaurant is only inside and bar is outside if I understood correctly, so we couldn’t make diner reservation at the table with a view.
Not a romantic rooftop experience, just a noisy meat market. Screwed up the reservation, tried to tell me it was my fault for using open table instead of calling directly. Walked out after ten minutes of bad service. Nice view but no class.
Amazing views of Chicago Skyline and River, and great location. Good for Brunch.
Absolutely beautiful view. Make sure you know if your reservations are for the rooftop and not the plain bar
The restaurant was majorly understaffed for a holiday weekend. Our server was GREAT but it was obvious she was overwhelmed and so things were slow. Only one elevator was working to the rooftop, so there was a long wait to get in and out. Overall I’d rate the server a 10/10 but everything else was mediocre.
I got there for my 4:30 PM reservation and was not even attended to until 5 PM and that is when the dinner menu starts. I only got the snacks menu after asking for a while.
Service was quite bad - the servers clearly don’t care. Drinks are overpriced. The bars itself is poorly decorated and lacks any class - playing the Big Bang theory on tv while charge $$ for cocktails just seemed weird to me. The rooftop is nice but that is separate. The bar at 21 is definitely not worth wasting you time or money over! Also it has no view at all for that level - you might as well be underground. We stayed for one drink and then left
Shockingly terrible. I eat all around the city of Chicago and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had in the Loop. They were uncoordinated, messed up our reservation time, tried to move us to another table once we were already comfortable seated, the food took an unreasonable amount of time, some of the food (chicken) was undercooked, the beef was overcooked, the salad made no sense and had little dressing, and the elevators will take you around 10 minutes as it stops at every floor. Other than that, they had an awesome sparkling Rose! I will never be back...
Good service, amazing view with delicious food. Would recommend the burger!
We had lunch there...had the open faced tomato sandwich and French fries. Excellent! Our waitress let us take our time and enjoy the afternoon but was still attentive when needed. Great day!
Great food, even better ambiance. A good spot for drinks and/or dinner.
We had reservations so although the line was Long they got us right in. It was our anniversary and we were seated by the manager. We were sitting in the fireplace area which is very romantic, had an early reservation 6:00 on Friday so it was not crowded. We went to check out rooftop before ordering and came back to the table to find a complimentary glass of champagne, we had his tacos and chicken both were good but the wife really loved the fish tacos. View from the rooftop is awesome although I could see how it could get overcrowded. Overall an excellent choice to kickoff our anniversary weekend.
Awful service. Awful drinks. Just an overall bad experience.
I didn’t realize my reservation was for indoors until after I booked through open table, but when I showed up to LH the host graciously allowed us a table outside! He just informed me to call next time instead of reserve online to sit outdoors. The food wasn’t amazing, but the drinks and views were well worth it! Will definitely recommend this place and also visit again next time I’m in Chicago! ❤️
Made reservation believing it was for the rooftop, since it said "rooftop." Learned upon arrival that they bumped us inside noting they said "oh, if you book online it won't work for an outside reservation." Service wad slow but friendly. Food was just okay and menu was really limited. Banana leaf fish tacos were not good at all.
I took my boyfriend for dinner here to celebrate our Anniversary, reserved a spot in the rooftop. Amazing views but most definitely crowded. So we went inside the restaurant to eat instead. Love the drinks and food but I recommend this place more as somewhere to socialize not really dinner.
The service was atrocious throughout our entire experience. There was no one there to check us in for our reservation (I had to go search for a host/hostess or other staff member to ask for our table.)
It took over 15 minutes for any server or staff member to come by so (we ended up going to the bar to order our own drinks.) We ordered an appetizer, flatbread and two sandwiches - it was 45 minutes before anything showed up (and the food only arrived after we asked for a manager to please check on our food.) At that point we were so frustrated we just asked them to wrap it up to go. We politely expressed our frustrations throughout the evening and no one seemed to care. The manager eventually comp’d a potion of our bill, but at that point, the damage had been done. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.
I've been coming here since they first opened the rooftop & I love it here. The manager Anthony is efficient & fun. The only problem I had was i had to wait 15mins before service which NEVER happened but my server made up for it with her exceptional customer service. & im still waiting to win the raffle!!!!!!!!
Disappointing experience. We ordered an appetizer and was almost done with it by the time we got napkins and forks. I ask someone for napkins and they gave us bar napkins instead of the roll-ups. We had to request a water bottle for the table when we ran out of water (every other table had a water bottle). A busboy asked us if we were done with a plate that had just been dropped. The short-rib was not good, too dry. We received ice cream for dessert but again had to request silverware to eat it. I hope this helps the experience improve for future diners.
Great food, great views however our server took 20 minutes to take our order after giving us our menus and seemed to have forgot about us.
HORRIBLE experience. The service was incredibly rude. I would not recommend this to anyone.
This is a remarkable view of the city.
Go for the drinks. Skip the expensive food and be saved from its disappointment.
Sad that management, given the food prices, can't make this a 5 star experience.
I love the view at the rooftop bar/restaurant at LH - floor 23. Unfortunately for us, the rainy and cold weather closed service on the rooftop and we ate inside - floor 21. Restaurant is nice and service was good just not the ambiance the rooftop has.
The giant donut us amazing!

Nice restaurant and bar. Cozy and very chill. Menu limited.
I made a reservation through open table weeks in advance for a party of eight. no one at the venue knew who we were and told us we could not be seated. We tried to sit outside, and were denied even though there were tables, even after showing them our reservation on my email. Then we went inside and they pull together some tables at the last minute in a corner of the bar for us so we could make do. I was really disappointed as I had planned this so far in advance for a special event for my team.
It was spectacular. The food was amazing, the service was too
There were no one directing the flow of traffic going into the elevator to the 21st floor. When we reach the restaurant reception, the person who ushered us didn’t even bother to check our reservation. He proceeded to seat us very close to the fireplace. I have asked to be transferred as it was a bit too warm. He said this will be fine (there a lot of vacant seatings). Our server however allowed us to transfer to a more comfortable location.
I’d recommend for the views, but service was appalling. No FOH when we arrived, waited ages to be served, asked for extra condiments (three times) and didn’t get any. The nice views doesn’t make up for the lousy service
I went with some friends for drinks and food, the service was really good, they were very attentive and helpful. The food was mediocre, for me it was okay and it was not over the top. I had espresso martini, it was okay too. I think most people come here for their beautiful roof top bar, but so far we had good experience here.
Our waitress kept forgetting to deliver our drinks and at one point told us she was giving us a complimentary pastry and we never received. We were short on utensils and it took 25 minutes to receive anything. Our food was good but due to the service I would not come back.
Great place!! Very sophisticated!! Rooftop view is spectacular!
Love londonhouse and all aspects of it- rooftop bar is fun. Brunch has great food, and I love the servers there. Love the live music as well.
Very disappointing experience. We made reservation due to a recommendation online, but we absolutely DO NOT recommend this place. We were seated for 15 minutes and the finally someone gave us some water. We waited for another 15 minutes, no one showed up to ask what we wanted. We literally spent 30 minutes waiting and had a sip of water - what kind of service is that?
When we talked to the girl at front, she was showing the “I don’t care” face and no apology received.
I will never visit this place again.
Easter Sunday brunch. No view at all. We really thought we’d have a beautiful view. My husband had the chicken and biscuit. He said it was really original and he loved it. I had the short rib and egg. The meat was coldish, maybe it was supposed to be. I didn’t like it but the hash browns were very good. Drinks were super expensive.
LH was nice overall. The service was slow and a bit stuffy....
But the view is awesome!!
I will visit LH again. And I will recommend to my friends but I will also try other places before choosing LH.
LondonHouse has an amazing ambience but is definitely better for the drinks and views than the food. It’s tasty but in TINY portions.
