On their website, they state their balcony and viewing area bar is open during the winter time as they state they have heaters, but it was closed. We came for the view and left after we weren't able to see the view. Further, the inside seating has only one small window.
This place was absolutely amazing. Great cocktails and service. Had a great time celebrating a special occasion.
Our server was great, recommended some good drinks and the food was delicious especially the wings and flatbread. I was disappointed that despite being near the top of the building, there’s absolutely no view except across to the other side of the building. I’ll have to wait for nicer weather to check out the outdoor deck.
We were there on a rainy day, so not packed with people. But still got great pics of Chicago on the rooftop. Lunch was great in the back room by the fireplace. Heather was awesome as our waiter, and she was also the Bartender and made killer martinis. Very cool place.
Terribly slow, rude service. I will not return.
Enjoyed an art show with dinner. Each selection was exquisitely plated. Delicious and beautiful.
The burger was amazing and the drinks were good. Our server Dina was also very attentive and nice!
The best view of Chicago, awesome drinks overall amazing place
The staff was really nice. I was happy that my sister, Laquinncia Sails, recommended this place to me.
First they sat us by the fireplace which was super hot. We sat for 15-20 minutes before they took a drink order and it was not busy. The menu was very limited. Not nearly as many options as are represented on open table. Appetizers were tiny and not described accurately. I had the $48 steak and it tasted good but half of it was all gristle and could not be cut with a steak knife. Please explain how all the bad ratings here have 5 stars?? Thumbs down.
The menu is very limited and very expensive. The restaurant is very cozy and nice but the portions are small, the food was just good and the price was pretty expensive. Way to many restaurants to choose from so I probably won't go back to this one.
It was my 50th birthday! Originally when I ordered my cheeseburger I asked for no onions and for it to be well done. It was loaded with onions and it was bloody! My strawberry daiquiri was so bitter! The waitress was rude!
The views were spectacular, but the service was not! Drinks were watered down, food was cold & the service was horrible. We waited for 30 minutes before we received any service what so ever. We kept getting the run around before we were finally told to go to the bar & order our food & drinks.
Absolutely loved LH! Perfect view and great place to toast & celebrate the birthday. It scream Sex & the City!!
Do not miss the roof top view of the Chicago River
The rooftop view was amazing! Service and food were not great, but again... the VIEW!
We had a wonderful time and the view was to die for. However, the steak was overpriced for the quality. It was also served cold.
Love this place. Great views
My outdoor reservation was not honored and the room with the fireplace was very noisy.
The service was slow and poor and I was given the wrong check at the end of the meal.
The outdoor terrace is amazing. The scene is beautiful and the drinks were great. LH was recommended by friends to visit. Overall, wasnt impressed by the food. The fries were drenched in oil—barely tasted like fries. The hostess was not back at her post to seat us after telling her we were coming back from upstairs as we were 30-min early for reservation. Had to wait about 10-min to be seated (by someone who worked there; not the host). The food left our stomachs aching. I would recommend LH 22 for rooftop drinks and hangout for group of friends.
I thought the restaurant on the 21 floor would be a 'real' restaurant. Instead it is a cocktail bar with lots of tables that does not have table service for lunch. It is 12:30 and we are the only two people on the room. Was never told this. Rooftop had a magnificent view which is better seen at night. Will never go back. Saw the view and that is all it has going for it.
The elevators make it very confusing. I loved the "old", "real" London House. It was a wonderful supper club with the BEST jazz performers of the time.
This was our 10 year anniversary and were seated by a fireplace (in summer - hot), a table that was not level and moved up and down (like a see saw). Would never return!!!
Sat behind a pole in the corner. Waited a while for service and they looked annoyed we were there. Not impressed only ended up getting drinks and leaving to eat elsewhere
MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES!
I booked dinner for a special occasion date with my husband. Although we had reserved a quiet table in the back, when we arrived they seated us on high chairs by the door and people were just walking by us.
The host accommodated us by sitting us next to the fireplace. The table was so wobbly that we requested our server to fix it because we were afraid that our drinks would spill.
I paid $20 for a margarita that was watered down. I think the worst was when the person who brought out our dinner (not our initial server) started yelling "number 123" multiple times. When she got to our table and asked us if we were "123", we were so confused and said no. So instead she placed the tray with food on the table next to us and the couple at that table replied that they did not order anything yet. I turned around and asked the person if she has an order of fish tacos and a hamburger and she confirmed that she did. She then told us in joking manner, "I already asked if you were 123 so stop messing with me".
It turned out that my fish tacos were not fish tacos at all, but rather some weird combo of sticky buns and over-salted whole fried fish. The red cabbage that came as garnish was turning brown and it was clear to me that it was not freshly prepared. It was so bad that I did not even finish my drink let alone eat my dinner. My husband got a hamburger with soggy fries and a rubber-like cheese/onion mix.
We were charged $92 for our dinner and then could not even see the "spectacular views" because the rooftop was overcrowded. Shortly after that my husband ended the night with the worst stomach-ache which almost resulted in me taking him to the emergency room. Overall, we felt humiliated and robbed, I don't think that this place should be called a restaurant in any sense.
The overall ambiance and service was great. The food was not impressive. While the burger was tasty, the buffalo wings were extremely bland and the French fries were very greasy.
The view is great but the wait time for it is not worth it. Not a lot of space to just stand unless you have a table. We had dinner on the floor below before heading to the rooftop and was not impressed. The food was good but not to die for. Our service was mediocre, waitress didn't seem too concerned about taking care of our table. Not a bad place but definitely wouldn't recommend as a must for the city.
It was an awesome experience, great food and drinks. Magnificent view! Highly recommend.
The food was very good. I've been there twice now and by far the best meal was the duck hash at brunch. That was fabulous.
Very disappointing place for dinner. Portion sizes were all over the place and the menu does not fully disclose what you are ordering. We ended up sending the food back and paying $150 for drinks and a plate of fries.
We ended up on the rooftop with its great views but it's too sunny and hot. No umbrellas and very few shady spots.
They don’t open umbrellas on the rooftop even upon request . Food wasn’t good. The view was beautiful . It’s ok for drinks only .
Made reservation twice for different days for rooftop but every time we were told that our reservation was moved inside in the dining room. So since the main point of our visit was to see a nice view and stay outside we just stayed at the bar table. The drinks were ok , didn’t complain. The waitress was friendly and nice. But food menu for dinner and lunch was terrible. Looked and tasted as cheep street food with no flavor. Defiantly wouldn’t recommend to eat there. Otherwise , the place has an amazing view!
I was informed few hours ago that LH is booked for a private event.
I had a business meet planned for that day with 5 other people.
and that was 3 hours before the actual meeting. Very disappointing and unprofessional of you guys. I booked 3 weeks before the actual meeting. You guys could have informed me before too. But you chose the day of my meeting and that too few hrs before. I had to inform everyone, find another place which I didn't get.
You guys never even compensated either or made any effort toward making things right. The onky thing you did was a voicemail that I got from your side saying that Its all booked for that particular date
Made reservations for my friend’s birthday. She had been wanting to come out or the city and celebrate on a rooftop, so I thought LH Rooftop would be perfect for her birthday and for the 3 of us to celebrate it.
Unfortunately, I reserved a table on the rooftop outside but when we arrived, I was notified that I had a reservation for the inside restaurant/bar area and not the rooftop. I explained that I specifically made a reservation to reserve a table outside in the rooftop. A manager came over to speak to me and explained that since it might potentially rain that evening, that my reservation was moved to the level below since food can’t be served outside on the rooftop if it were to rain. I was not told why I was not notified of my reservation change due to weather conditions to at least ask me if we still wanted to do food or just keep our reserved table for drinks outside on the rooftop. Which is frustrating. Especially since I saw many people on the list for the outside rooftop tables and that’s exactly what I reserved for this special occasion.
We were told by the manager that we could grab a drink on the rooftop and then come down later to a table to get dinner. We did that, but that was hard since we were lugging around a big gift bag and the rooftop was tight and virtually no where for us to stand without being I the way of servers or other people being seated.
Luckily, the manager did escort us to a nice nook on the lower level with a nice table for us. Our server was Adam, which the manager said was his best server. But before the manager said this, we thought that Adam was negligent since he didn’t check on us for a long time and we noticed that he was walk near our table then walk away several times.
In my reservation, I asked for a desert for my friend’s birthday. We were served some type of sorbet over white cheese grits that was not good. But we decided not to complain. It would have been better had we been given our outside rooftop table.
The food was really bad, and the drinks as well. Wouldnt recommend for eating out. The rooftop bar on 22 is really nice for a drink and beautiful view
Was very disappointed . When I called to make the reservation I had asked for the roof top. I had just seen a segment about it on one of my TV shows and decided to celebrate my birthday there, when we got there we were told we were on 21 and not the roof top.
The bar views (one floor higher) are great but impossible to get a seat even with restaurNt reservations.
Slow service. Small portions. Dark and gloomy interior. Average at best.
The food was amazing. Fairly small portions. The ambiance was really cute. It’s inside dining so don’t expect an outside rooftop. Overall really enjoyed our time and meal.
I was very excited to try LH on 21. I had friends who had raved about how great the rooftop at London House is. We were planning on dinner in the restaurant then upstairs for drinks after. I was highly disappointed in the service at LH on 21. It was not particularly busy and we had a small party (3 people) we ordered directly off the menu with no subs. The burger came out 15-20 mins ahead of our other plates (even though we were told they were right behind the first plate). After the delay on food (which was actually VERY good!) we ordered dessert. Again, directly off the menu and nothing that needed cooked. Dessert took almost an additional 45 mins (for ONE dessert). Nothing on the bill was comped nor did we get an apology for the slow service. This was for a close's friends bachelorette party and I was more than disappointed.
