    Excellent classic escargot and frog legs persillade . Duck condition had crispy skin and tasty all the way to the bone. Had a taste of my friend's Scottish salmon and it was cooked perfectly including the rice. Belatedly asked for haricot vert to go with the duck. It arrived soon enough and blanched just right. My friend enjoyed her Cote du Rhone. I had the spiced pear lemonade, which was okay. The valrhona chocolate mousse cake was yummy. Ordered cortado and it was very good. (Surprising how many restaurants don't do coffee well.) Service was sufficiently attentive though could have done something about the space without prompting. (Table was super small.). Lots of outside seating.

    Great place for dinner in the Union Square area. I would reccomend a reservation as it does get crowde especially on weekends. Food is quite good. Loved the Escargot and Frog' s Legs..Menu is very diverse and the cocktails are wonderful.

    Service was great BUT. Restaurant was very dimly lit, and noise level was very high. I ordered steak frites and my meat was done to order (rare), but the cut of meat was poor.

    I have been enjoying French Bistro food at L'Express for more than 25 years. It never disappoints! Love the vibe. Always busy without being crowded, great food, atmosphere and service. Takes me back to when I lived in Paris so many years ago.

    I had the frog legs and shakshuka which were both delicious. Extremely inattentive service left us waiting a long time to get our orders in and a very long time waiting for the check. They did not appear to be understaffed that day

    We arrived on time and were seated promptly. Then we waited. And waited. Finally after 20 min we flagged down a server who took out drink order. Easy. One mimosa. One drip coffee. One coke. Another 20 min. 2 of three drinks arrived. No sign of waitress. Finally went in and requested from the hostess that we had lost our waitress, one drink, and would like to order. 40 minutes into our visit we finally placed an order with an apologetic server who said she thought she had taken our order already. After that, food arrived promptly and was very good. Except that one order was wrong. We decided to roll with it. Too hungry to send it back.

    Always dependable. Good for lunch, brunch or dinner. Try the eggs any style with home fries and bacon, the calf's liver with mashed potatoes and save room for the tarte tatin.

    Mediocre food, bad service. Place was not busy, yet had to search for help for more water, coffee the check etc. Food was not very good. Booked this the day before and reservations for brunch were hard to find. I now know why this place had availability.

    Great location, very good food at a very good price. Service was friendly but a bit scatter-brained, we kept getting items we didn't order and then not all food arrived at the table at the same time (and needed to check accuracy of what we were being charged for). Despite all that, would definitely go there again!

    Fun, lively restaurant.Very nice staff and good service. Food is not that good. Salad was overly doused with vinegar and limp. Steak was fine, but au poivre sauce was bland. Fries were soggy and not that tasty. Chicken was ordinary.

    I LOVE L’Express! As always, I had a wonderful time with my friends - great food, ambiance, service was fabulous & very attentive! I highly recommend this place, indoors or outdoors on their lovely terrace, weather permitting!

    Went for dinner. Had onion soup, salad, liver and Bronzino Peaches in salad were had and had no taste. Everything else was good. Shouldohave peace’s if not in season .

    Maria was the best server we have had in a very long time. Every person in our party of four commented on her winning attitude and her great table-side manner. Thank you Maria for making our evening a special one! As for the food… delicious! The kitchen staff gets compliments as well! The food was served very hot and every appetizer and entree was very tasty and perfectly seasoned. Bravo!
