   Dependable French Bistro especially for lunch and brunch. Some dinner items I liked are no longer on the menu. I miss the calf's liver, the blood sausage and the Ceaser salad. Still, a worthwhile restaurant to visit.

   We have dined here many times over the past twenty years and whenever we visit NYC we try to visit this old favorite at least once. So many things made this such an unpleasant experience I think this dinner will be our last. Too many other options.

   The short rib I ordered was not short rib. It was brisket or some other cut of meat in the shape of short rib.

   A great neighborhood bistro with excellent service. The menu is reliable, casual French fare that is well-prepared. Prices are high--$60 pp for 1 drink and entree (including tip)--but is there any place that isn't these days?

   Hi, Julie. Thank you so much for the kind review! Dining out certainly has gotten pricey! That's why we try to bring value to the neighborhood. I'm glad to the hear you still come out, though. If you haven't already tried them, the roasted chicken, cassoulet, and short rib are all quite hefty dishes I've seen plenty of people save for left-overs and the burgers and moules are on the cheaper side for a full entree portion.    The steak frites was mediocre. The steak was tough; fries over cooked. The Caesar salad was very good. My waitress was lovely. The runner plopped my plate in front of me without a word, with the steak opposite me so I had to turn it around to face me. I’ve worked in food service and eaten in fine restaurants. This experience was disappointing at best. I’ve eaten here before and had a good experience. My waitress was very apologetic and comped my wine. Still, I eat out infrequently and want a good experience when I do. I will not be coming back. Also, the bathroom was out of order.

   It was a lively, noisy place to dine. The service was a bit slow…. The food was tasty. Overall a nice experience.

    Great experience and our server was lovely. Ordered a medium burger and it was bit on the well done side and there wasn’t a ton of cheese, but the Escargot was great!
