Located in the historic district, Lewes Oyster House honors the rich heritage of ubiquitous and democratic oyster consumption in 18th and 19th century Middle Atlantic taverns and oyster houses. We serve inspired tavern fare, expertly prepared with fresh, regionally-sourced ingredients along with crisp lagers, interesting wines, and artisanal cocktails. All that, and a whole lot of love.

Please join us for lunch Tuesdays through Saturdays in the Tap Room, Oyster Bar or Main Bar. We do not accept reservations for lunch.

Walk-ins for dinner are always welcome first-come first-served at the Oyster and Main bar areas, all evening long beginning at 5 p.m.

Online reservations for dinner are VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for the Walsh Room and Tap Room.

We had a delicious dinner and our waitress, Clara, was the best! Many thanks to Tom and Clara who helped my husband when he got a leg cramp as we left. We love dining here!

Lewes Oyster House is a charming restaurant with a great atmosphere in a very cute coastal town. Food was good, not great. Service was a bit slow. Value was fair but could be better.

My husband and I are seafood lovers and have enjoyed every meal we have had here. Our last one included a moist, very well seasoned sword fish with couscous. My husband had the scallops and pronounced them "delicious." Sometimes we order a number of appetizers, in place of a meal, and have a "tapas" feast. Seafood is not cheap, but whether shellfish or fresh fish this restaurant prepares quality meals, and the drinks can be inventive. We hear that the burgers and chicken are also very good, but we come for the seafood. The staff is exceptionally accomodating, pleasant, and efficient. and the atmosphere is warm and friendly but not raucus.

Better than expected. The variety of options was perfect and wish I could’ve tried so many more entrées. Will definitely come back if I’m in the area.

Very nice experience our waitress was very nice. We were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and was treated very nicely. The food was great like always and look forward to coming back.

Everything was just very nice: staff is professional and warm, oysters were perfect, apple-peach pie delicious. From now on it is our preferred place.

Always a great experience. The rockfish, the tuna, and the burger were all fantastic according to our friends. our favorite place to go.

Used the parking app but got no WiFi service from sitting in the back. Spent nearly 40 minutes trying to straighten out the situation to avoid getting a ticket. Come to find out, it had stopped as parking is free at 8:00 PM. Would have been nice to have been informed! Ending up taking my meal home as it was too cold to enjoy!
