Great food. Amazing cocktail menu. Only bummer was we couldn’t see the sunset directly in front of us due to direction the restaurant faces.
Great all around! We had fun with cocktails at the bar, then a yummy appetizer and sumptuous dinner at a table. Fabulous evening!
Excellent dinner. Ordered the mahi mahi, chicken and rigatoni. The rigatoni was supposed to come with shrimp but the manger advised that they ran out of shrimp and offered to replace it with mahi mahi or salmon. We had the mahi mahi and it was excellent. The mahi mahi dish was superb as was the most chicken. Drinks were excellent. Overall a superb meal.
Great atmosphere, extraordinary service and excellent food. Overall, a really great and memorable experience.
Very surprised that the service was subpar. I was expecting much better. Not crowed durning the week for lunch and waited almost 20 min for service (with attitude). Didn't want to sit me on the rail because I was 1 person but had empty tables for 2 along the rail. Not a good visit this time around. Food was served chilled, not even an "how's everything" from the server. May NOT go back after going 6 times within the past 2 years.
This is an upscale restaurant so my expectations were a little higher than the deliverable. The food was room temperature on delivery and the table that we sat at wobbled the entire time. The only reason why I would give this a four or five star is because our server was really awesome. Her energy was everything. But I came to experience the food not our server.
Poor service - bland food - decent ambiance though.
Although the ambiance was stunning and the food was good, we felt rushed from the minute we sat down! Which sucks! The waitress didn’t look up from her screen much, & took our appetizer before we were done with it ): seemed like a super in & our atmosphere, even when you’re paying for 3-course meal & drinks.
We dined at Level2 for Valentine’s Day and it was bustling. Service was a little scrambled, with various servers stopping by our table, but everyone was attentive and the food was fantastic. The view of a white rooftop between us and the ocean was not exactly what we had pictured, so we understand why folks might opt for the top level of the restaurant! But it was a lovely view nonetheless and a very welcome evening out. Food was truly top-notch, particularly the mahi mahi and the rigatoni dishes. And the cocktails are fab too.
Horrible service and food. Rude waiters. Cold inside. It use to be my favirite restraunt
We went to George's at the Cove for lunch during a recent trip to San Diego. It is a lovely restaurant right on the water. The food and service were great! I would recommend it to anyone!
The menu was smaller than I expected. The food was good but nothing I would get again. The place was also pretty dead for a Friday night. SD Magazine rated this place top atmosphere, I’m guessing they rated this in the summer. Anyway, place was ok, no red flags, but if I had to go back I would go in the summer and sit on level 3.
Quality of food was very average. Price was too high.
Menu very limited.
Seating was windy and cold.
Will never go back.
This place is a must go for visitors to Lajolla. The view alone is worth a visit. The beverages are unique and tasty. The service is wonderful. Highly recommend. You will need a reservation.
Their happy hour is excellent and a view that can't be beat.
I am a local and have been here several times. My out of state (Chicago) loved it.
P.S. He was my Sales Manager at Xerox, back in the day, needed to show him, I still make good decisions

George's has been my favorite for years. The view is simply breathtaking EVERY TIME. The food is consistently good and service is always outstanding. The new bar upstairs has been a great addition. Carry on George's!
Just don’t live up to the hype but we were on the 2nd floor . I would go there again but for drinks on 3rd floor
Although I have lived in San Diego all my life, 74 years, this is the first time I have eaten at Georges. I brought some out of town guests for lunch and couldn't have had a more delicious meal. Our waitress, Anna , was outstanding. She new all about the menu and diffidently new the cocktail list. My wife and I were in the industry for 25 years and know a pro when we see one. She is a true asset to your establishment. The food was outstanding and everyone had something different. I can see why your restaurant has been in business as long as it has . Great job.

Great view and ambience. The drinks were impressive as well. I got the wild fields of lavender cocktail which was really tasty! My husband got a margarita that was also very good. Food was very mediocre. Service was good.
Overall good experience and cheerful. Food was really excellent!

The view was nice, not as great as I expected but still good. The service was good, our waitress was very nice, attentive, knowledgable about the menu, and helpful. There was a creepy bald guy who kept staring at us, I think he may have been the manager possibly but if he was he should of just came over and asked us how our dining experience was because it was weird. The food was okay, severely overpriced in my opinion. The heaters really don’t work at all. Overall, I would go back for the service and the view. I’d probably just get a drink and an app though, otherwise not really worth it to me.
It was Amazing, food wasn’t exactly my style which is why i gave it 4 stars but others will find it much better than i did.
We ordered three appetizers, a salad and then main courses; server brought salad first, then appetizers — it was not in sequence and kitchen should have brought appetizers before salad course...
Also, server should not ask if we would like dessert when we are still eating main course
Management should consider training servers better to provide a better dining experience — considering fact that Level2 at George’s is such a spectacular setting and beautiful restaurant
Great view! Staff very gentle and nice! Yummy food and the Kumquat Fizz Cocktail is to die for😍
Hostess was not friendly but it was a very busy New Year's day. The view of the cove was awesome (ask to be seated by the window/wall which provides a great view of the ocean. Food (rigatoni with shrimp, burger and vegan burger (which was quite good), kale salad with chicken and grilled shrimp tacos) was tasty and just the right temperature. We also had chips and dip and hummus and pita bread. Seemed a little pricey for lunch ($156) but La Jolla and the view were probably within the range. Wait staff was attentive. Definitely do valet parking. Very impressive drink menu. Overall great experience!
We were very disappointed in our dinner tonight--the food was good, but we had specifically noted that it was a birthday celebration, a special one. When we checked in we were asked whose birthday it was and we told them, but after that--nothing. The waitress was a bit harried and made no mention of the birthday. When we ordered dessert we thought a candle would be appropriate, or at least a wish for a happy birthday from the server, but nothing. Perhaps George's does not do this anymore? At any rate, it put a damper on what was supposed to be a festive occasion.
Decided to try this place while visiting the town for the first time. Wanted something with a beautiful water view. So happy I chose the place.
Seasons Greetings! Thank you for enjoying your visit with us here at George's at the Cove! After celebrating 35 years of existence, its safe to say that our outstanding views are here to stay! Be sure to come back on in the next time you are in town! Take care for now! Best regards, Joe Vitanza AGM Ocean Terrace George's at the Cove
Great experience. Good food!
Thank you!
Not good food
Delicious mussels!
Never disappoints.
Beautiful view, delicious food and excellent service!!
great casual atmosphere. Hostess and waitress were super friendly and helpfull. Had the soup of the day, ceasar salad and skirtsteak all terrific. shared among two of us and it was plenty.
wonderful view, friendly staff and very tasty food!
Food was good, the shrimp and fish tacos were greatly quality seafood and really tasty toppings! Definitely paying for the view more than the quality of food but the view is absolutely incredible.
My goto place on short stays. Good food, excellent staff and a view....what a view.
I had dinner here and it was outstanding. I ordered the pork chop dinner and it was delicious. Very tasty and tender. I asked for some adjustments (i.e. mashed potatoes instead of quinoa) and it was made with no problems. Our server was very attentive. The only drawback was that we had seats overlooking the ocean but it was too dark to see the ocean. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed dinner there.
Birthday celebration with friends-great service. Wonderful waitress
Food and atomsphere were nice, but service was not great. Brought our entrees before we had a chance to order our wine.
