I have had dinner with friends at Levant five times since April, and have enjoyed every meal. What a great place to spend a relaxed meal with family and friends. I love the way the staff treats its customers. They were available immediately if we needed something; otherwise they let us alone to enjoy our company while enjoying their food. We have always felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted (never rushed), and the noise level is quite low, so we been able to relax after dinner while finishing a bottle of wine or having coffee. I love the inexpensive Petites Bouchees, especially the cheesy cauliflower gratin, which we have with our favorite wine on their list, a St. Emilion. The beef bourguignon is great, especially with the little crispy garlic chips. If I had one quibble, it is that the chicken cordon bleu was a little dry the one time I ordered it. The sea bass, sole, scallops and shrimp are always good and very fresh. Basically, this place is a gem. I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing evening with friends eating great food in a welcoming environment.

The food is good and fairly priced, but they were poorly staffed for the volume of guests that evening. Our initial waiter disappeared for most of the meal (after forgetting to put in our wine order), and then it took forever to get the check. Our other time at the restaurant they were empty and things moved just fine. The issue is that the staff aren’t exactly hospitality-focused (the main waiter arrived and just stared at us as if to prompt us to order, without even a hello. So bizarre), so no one expressed a moment of apology for all of the delays, and that is what frustrated me.

A beautiful space with kind and attentive staff. A few good wine selections by the glass, very enticing menu! We had the mussels, quinoa salad, boeuf gourmand, sea bass, and of course the chocolate soufflé with creme anglaise! It was a delicious experience and a perfect date night

This is a wonderful restaurant for brunch and dinner. We ate brunch today with two friends and our food was great. I had the Croque Madame probably the best I have ever had. It was served with broiled brussel sprouts. My husband had the French omelette and our friends had the breakfast burger and the organic chicken sandwich. We had a pitcher of Belinis and deserts of strawberry cheese cake and creme brule.t

Great meal! Levant is a simple place; almost a diner vibe. We had brunch there a few weeks ago and found it a bit basic but worth another try. Dinner last night was a wonderful surprise! Traditional French dishes served to perfection. Service was friendly and attentive to our party of eight. Prices were in range with post Covid norms. Wine list was ample. I can’t speak for our friends but the two locals in the group will be back for dinner again soon!

Our reservation was kept and, even though it took some time before everyone (8 people) arrived, we weren't hassled. The food at Levant is beautifully prepared and tasty, the wait staff uniformly polite. Our group, that gets together maybe twice a year, were all impressed.

We have needed a real French restaurant in downtown Brooklyn (especially the Heights) for as long as I can remember and I am enthusiastic about Levant! My second visit was just brunch but I went for dinner recently and am definitely looking forward to more meals at this newcomer. Lend your support!

A repeat visit and it was better than expected. The wait was a little past expected but the staff accommodated by seating us at the bar to wait for our table. Always a treat to be there.

GREAT EVERYTHING.. SPENT A GREAT AFTERNOON WITH MY FAMILY OF 6 FROM THE AGE OF 23-83 AND EVERYONE ENJOYED THERE MEAL. SPENT 3 HOURS THERE NEVER RUSHED FOOD WAS SERVED WITH PROFESSIONALISM MANGER AND OWNER WERE VERY NICE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. GREAT MENU. WILL BE BACK AGAIN VERY SOON.

It is so important to have an excellent French Restaurant in Cobble Hill and Levant is a great one! We highly recommend it to others. The menu is sophisticated and affordable. The service was attentive and helpful. We definitely recommended it for dinner and brunch.
