Enjoy a 3-course French dinner for $60 per person (plus tax & gratuity). Choose from favorites like Coq au Vin, Mediterranean Seabass, Angus Steak Frites, and French Onion Spaghetti. My husband and I both have food allergies which was one of the reasons we chose Levant; they had plenty of choices and were able to modify things to not include nuts or gluten. However, the food was just ok. We got a frissee salad that would have been much better without sun dried tomatoes and replaced with cheese. There was a sautéed ship appetizer that was SO garlic-heavy that my husband decided not to eat it. I got the cod with beure blanc sauce and everything tasted ok, but it was a very soft dish—definitely needed some texture somehow. My husband got the burger which he said “remind him of the Eddie Murphy house burger his mother made”—very thick and the bun fell apart. The fries were good however. Maybe we ordered dishes that are not their best, but it wasn’t as good as we hoped. We skipped dessert and went to The Chocolate Room around the corner.

Met my cousin for a long overdue dinner at Levant on Smith during NYC Restaurant week. We took advantage of their 3-course restaurant week menu and indulged in the Levant Salad, Petit Legume Rotis, Steak Frites, Sea Bass, Creme Brulee and San Sebastian Cake. The appetizers were fresh and full of flavor. The entrees were very good, both accompanied by generous portions of spinach and mashed potatoes and the desserts were very nicely done, not too sweet but just right.

This restaurant was such an experience. I loved it from the appetizers, to the food, desserts, and drinks was amazing. I had the CHICKEN CROQUETTES for an appetizer, the STEAK FRITES and a cheese cake for a dessert!! It was delicious. Also the drinks I had was the LEVANT SUMMER SPRITZ and CONTORTIONIST.

Food was typical French fare. The owner / maitre D was fantastic. So warm and welcoming. Will definitely be back!
