This was my second visit to Letty's Tavern. The first visit I got the burger and it was good. This time I got the chicken sandwich. The chicken was extremely thin -- hardly any chicken at all. The side salad that came with it was very good, but $16 for what seemed to be just a few ounces of chicken was definitely not worth it.
We don’t usually rave about chicken, but honestly the chicken at Letty’s was so flavorful! All of the food was delicious and the service was attentive and courteous. Our server knew the menu well and was able to make great recommendations.
This was my second visit to Letty's and I intentionally made reservations for four at a high top in the bar area due to the noise and in my opinion - a lack of ambiance in the main dining room. Unfortunately when we arrived the hostess informed me there were no high tops available and she had already seated two of our party of four in the main dining room. My husband was told that we should reserve directly on Letty's website to make sure we get the high top seating in the bar area. Our server Chris made up for the less desirable table and we thoroughly enjoyed the craft cocktails, hangar steaks and short rib. If you go, reserve directly on Letty's website and order the OVC - it's good!
Friendly place. Our server Molly was very attentive. Food was fair. Mushroom soup in my opinion had too too much black pepper. Fish & Chips was very bland as if no spices were put on the fish. Batter was bland. The cod fish was too large which results in the fish being slightly undercooked otherwise the batter would be over cooked.
Many of the apps and entrees were sold out with no replacements. When we asked for another glass of wine we were told the waiter had to wait to fill our glasses when they were empty. I guess he could not fill the glasses at the table!
Food was awesome. Interesting take on otherwise boring vegetables such as cucumbers and cauliflower.
KFC was amazing!!!!
Nice restaurant in a beautiful little town. Food and drinks were good. Could use a little work on plating. Excellent, friendly service. We didn't get a chance to visit the Bottle Shop. It looked empty. It's a nice concept...I hope they get this up and running.
Very slow service - kitchen and bar - and the music level was too high. The food was good.
The food is REALLY good!
The food was very good. Pizzas and apps were done just right. My wife had the mushroom soup which she loved, just the right amount of spice, didn't overpower the soup. Only drawback was the kitchen was slow and we were there for 40 minutes before the meal came out. Otherwise great. We will definitely go back...
Difficult to recommend this place though the food tastes good. We waited nearly 90mn before being serviced with our meal. It was difficult to understand as the restaurant was far from being full. My entree was expensive ($28) so I expected a good size plate but got 3 miserable scallops and 4 thin asparagus. I have a light appetite but that really made me starving the whole time. Our entrees came almost cold at our table though the waiter said they plates were hot. The waiter apologized several times saying each time that we should just wait for no more than 3 or 4 minutes. The location is central Kennett Square so a golden location, I would assume. I do not understand how service can be so slow at this price ( for very simple entrees).
Service was a bit slow, some of it due to the waitstaff and some due to the kitchen.
Great spot. Going back for sure.
Awesome experience - highly recommended, great cocktails, service is friendly and professional, food is simple and with great quality !
We really liked our first visit to Letty’s Tavern and plan on coming back. The ambiance is great. The service is top notch. The drinks were good and fairly priced. The food is delicious.
Very good food and service. Entrée portions were small and the dining room was very loud.
Very nice addition to Kennett Square. Will surely go back.
We had dinner there and the food and service were excellent. Bailey was our waitress and she was extremely professional and knowledgeable. The dining room is a bit noisy but the food and service are excellent. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We sat outside on the porch which faces busy State Street in Kennett Square. A bit noisy when trucks go by. The food is perfect. I had the Scallops and Asparagus. They had a divine buerre blanc sauce that was wonderful. My husband had the gnocchi with lobster in a sabayon sauce that was incredible. Portions were perfect size for us. It’s how we like to eat. The wine list features several French wines. The host recommended a Chardonnay which went beautifully with our entrees. There is a small charming wine store they call bottle shop below the street level where you can enjoy a glass of something and browse the shop while you wait for your table. Friendly and welcoming staff. Love this place.
Nice location and ambience in Kennett, and liked spending some time in the basement bottle shop while we were waiting for table. However, food and service were terrible, at least that night for us. Ordered food, then didn’t see our waitress for another 30 min, who came to then ask if we’d like dessert (hadn’t received any food at that point)! We had an “entree” of scallops, which was flavorful, but only consisted of 3 scallops and a few stalks of asparagus (should have been on small plates section). Also had a white pizza, which was similar to buying some store bought pizza dough, and just haphazardly adding a few clumps of pesto and cheese in a few spots. Decent cocktails.
We do apologize for the disappointing experience you had and can assure you this was an isolated incident but do appreciate the feedback and patronage. We can assure you however that whatever your experience was, was an isolated incident and would love to have the opportunity to rectify it. If you would like to give us a call at 610-444-5688 and ask for Jacob, we would love to have the chance to make this up to you and take care of your next meal on us.
The noise level in the main dining level was extremely high. I was not the only guest unhappy as I saw a woman in the rear corner table holing her ears. It was difficult to have a conversation without screaming. Prices were high. Burgers and fries were good but $26 for 3 scallops and 3 pieces of asparagus is ridiculous as is $14 for a glass of wine.
Great food, amazing service. They are thankfully aware of noise and working on reducing level.
Our first time dining here and we will definitely be back many times. We dined in the bar area and had excellent drinks , service and great pub food. Highly recommend!
Phenomenal- amazing staff - great atmosphere - great drinks - will definitely be back
We had a few pizzas and salad and the cauliflower appetizer. Their food is fantastic, nice vibe, great service, and really enjoy the convenience of being able to make reservations online with OpenTable or on website. We would have like to have gotten a couple glasses of wine but at $13 and up for standard reds and just a couple of white choices we couldn’t justify it (just three 12” pizzas, two salads, and one app, plus tip put us over $100 for four people already). I have heard that they have above average drink prices. I could see Charu g this much for a specialty cocktail but not standard glasses of wine.
We went to Letty's for Mother's Day dinner. It was not a typical white table cloth menu or venue for such a celebration, but we were so pleased to see someone take over the Kennett Square Inn and start a dining business during these difficutlt times for the dining industry we wanted to give it a try. It started off very well; the greeter was warm and enthusiastic, we were seated promptly and in a delight table with a view of the town and our server was excellent. Then, we ordered the mushroom soup, a standard menu item and one that was a specialty of the Inn and learned that they were out of it! So, our son replaced it with onion rings (another standard menu item) and was told they were out of that as well. Then, when our order of fish and chips arrived and we asked for malt vinegar we were told they did not stock it! So here on a major dining holiday, the management was unable to plan their inventory of standard items to reflect that and to offer fish and chips-a standard English dish--without offering malt vinegar--another standard with the English dish--it was disappointing to say the leasat. Then the new owners had obvioiusly redecorated the dining room, removing the carpeting and perhaps some of the window treatment, so, likely as a result of all the hard surfaces, the dining room noise level was unpleasant. So, with all the wonderful other dining options in Kennett Square, we are able to dine elsewhere and hope that the new owners of the Inn are able to attract a loyal customer base and are successful.
Reservation was honored and great seating no concerns having table inside.
Limted menu with inadequate explantion on menu and by wait staff.
Too, entree meals could be better described as starters.
I had a lovely Mother’s Day brunch with my daughter at Letty’s !
The food was delicious., the waitress was friendly & knowledgeable! My first time at Letty’s , will definitely be back !!
We really wanted to love it but the food was just ok. For the price, we expected more.
Loved the Four Seasons cocktail; mushroom soup; fries (some of the best in the area); burrata and chicken. Everyone was very accommodating; our waiter was very attentive. Love the atmosphere. Great night at Letty’s.
They ask for an honest review, so this is just from my experience.
I think I set my expectations way too high. We had 4 different servers, who all seemed nice but none of which were talkative. It took 15 minutes just to get the drink order. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay to then realize I had to pay $14 for less then a half of glass of wine which to me is ridiculous. We only ordered 2 appetizers (onion rings & 3 mushroom toasts) which not only took 25 minutes to come out but also came out at separate times (about 15 minutes apart) so by the time one of us was done the other was just getting their food. Although the appetizers were very delicious they were very selfish with their portions. I also found it weird that every restaurant I have ever been to that just opened up you would see the owners walking around saying hello, I saw one owner that stopped at the tables around me but not my table. They might have good food but part of the restaurant business is getting to know your locals and being personable and they did not do that at all.
Very good food and service. Garden salad with green goddess dressing was very good and able to be spilt by two. The burgers were great and came with some grilled onion and a nice portion of fries. The pizza was great although it could be a bit too spicy for some people. The pasta carbonara was also very good with the pasta being made in house. And the roasted chicken was also very good along with its squash accompaniment. The chicken and pasta were a bit small for the price and may have not have been enough alone had we not tried a bunch of other items (as it was our first time and a late dinner). The server was very friendly and knowledgeable and THANK YOU for offering to change out our silverware and plates after the salad. More place should do this. The vibe in the restaurant was lively and fun. And the seats in the main dining area were very well spread apart for Covid safety. We appreciated that.
Amazing burger. Great service.
They have some kinks to work through. Bar service very slow-20 min for first drink and 15 for 2nd. Didn't seem very busy either.
Food was just OK, burger had very little flavor and server couldn't explain the pricing for the shared bites ($8/2 ea) and so we ordered the wrong amount. Then the bill said a different price altogether. We didn't ask or quibble over it but it was confusing.
The beignets were amazing.
Fun and tasty craft cocktails, burgers were excellent, and wait staff very attentive! Great new spot in Kennett Square!
Very excited to have this team take over the historic Kennett Inn and bring some new menu ideas and excitement to the restaurant. They have some wrinkles to iron out but I do see nice potential for this restaurant. They seem to have some things to sort through- had alot of menu items unavailable, had only one dessert available, coffee machine was broken, the waitstaff was very eager but untrained, the dress of the staff was way too casual and almost untidy for such a nice atmosphere (I would suggest some kind of waitstaff attire). On the positive side, the menu was interesting and the food was good. I look forward to returning and see if they were able to button things down.
The burger, it’s a must. There is magic in that sandwich. Is it the beef? Is it the brown butter aoili? Perhaps the house pickled cucumbers? I think it’s every single part of this gem that makes it shine. It’s something that even if you live an hour away, you need to drive here for. The onion rings with house made ranch (best you’ll ever taste ranch wise) is a favorite and tonight I added the confit flash fried wings to my favorites list. The meat is so tender it falls off the bone, which I’ve never seen with wings prior...and I’m a huge fan of wings. There is nothing on this locally sourced all homemade menu that won’t dazzle you. Hands down my favorite restaurant.
Food was good, especially their “wings”; however, was surprised to hear that substituting an entree vegetable for another that’s offered on a different entree, wasn’t allowed. Noise level in the main dining room was positively deafening, though, and the lighting a bit harsh. Genuinely a good meal, though and will return but only when it’s less crowded to avoid the noise.
Very limited menu. Hard to tell what they’re going for. On the pricey side. clean, but not much ambiance. Hopefully it will improve with time.
