The best meal I have ever had at L'Escargot. The food was glorious and even the cheapish bottle of wine was outstanding.
Great food and great atmosphere.
What a wonderful London institution. Classy, friendly, very French with a reasonably priced wine list and an interesting cocktail selection. The food is excellent and a wonderful ambience. Highly recommended. I can't wait for them to open again.
It was good, good food. Helpful staff. The duck confit was a bit salty but the steak was very good.
The service and the food were spectacular, as always. This is definitely one of my most favourite restaurants in the whole of London.
Fabulous food. The snails were superb and perfectly cooked venison along with a very tasty chocolate tart. Service was great.
Excellent meal and service
We are regulars here,L’Escargot is coping well with COVID,great service, food and ambiance as always, started with 6 snails each were outstanding, then halibut which was very slightly overcooked, but we do understand how unforgiving this fish is to cook, also the sauce had a bit too much salt in it,and I like salt! It was still nice though.Ice cream for dessert which was okay. Good bin end Macon white burgundy and good cheese and Sauternes.
Overall a very nice meal. Over £120 per head was very pricey but we understand this restaurant is a classic,so can charge a premium.
A wonderful institution with faultless, friendly service and welcoming ambience that leaves you smiling long after you've left. It can be a little noisy if you have a particularly energetic and tipsy guests on a near by table, but so can anywhere in Soho. Absolutely recommended. Go as often as your wallet will allow.
Very enjoyable evening all round, great cocktails followed by authentic French cooking washed down by a couple of bottles of Burgundy (great value as bin ends)
Great night out.... Loved the food. Great service, nicely presented
Absolutely amazing food. The best steak I have ever had (better than the big steak restaurants in London). The cocktails were also perfectly made. And to top it all off, the best service I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I have already booked to return!
Excellent. Loved the food, great service, great selection of wines by the glass. We went for a lunch, so it was indeed very quiet, not sure if it's the same during dinner time. Totally worth the price. I will surely be back.
Absolutely amazing! Wonderful service, exquisite rooms, fabulous service and devine food!
The service was accommodating, relaxed and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was fabulous as ever. My only problem was choosing what to have. I could have eaten any combination of food on the menu and left happy.
The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and polite, and the food was outstanding.
LOVED the live piano, the rustic vibe is amazing and the food and service was absolutely fantastic! Would
Recommend.
Always superb - never disappoints. We had a wonderful evening.
Fantastic and personal service, wonderful friendly staff. Food was absolutely delicious and the ambience was lovely and cosy. Would highly recommend.
It was such a delight to be able to have lunch in L’Escargot again after such a long wait through the Covid months. We stayed for five hours enjoying our meal and our cocktails- everything totally excellent, delicious, stimulating and relaxing all at once. The building was spotless as ever, cosy and quite peaceful. A perfect day at a favourite Soho hideaway.
Only minus was temperature of dining room but a bit cold ... everything else was exquisite. Well done 👍🏻
One of London's very best resturants. Fantastic food and service.
Glad to be there again and remember the lovely food
Fabulous evening. The service was exemplary as was the food.
Service was excellent and the entree and the Escargots were very good. Disappointed with the main ie chateaubriand were really dry even they were cooked medium rare. However we got given some discount on that so it was ok.
The two main dishes we ordered were too salty unfortunately. We had the risotto and the duck confit. The starters like the fois gras and escargot were good though.
It was a nice French Restuarant. Tasty snails. I wasnt very happy with the main course (chateaubriand) as they delayed to bring the sauce that was supposed to come with the meat, and it became cold until we ate it. I tried to eat it without the sauce but it was also a bit dry.
We also had 2 bottles of wine. We pad 80 pounds 5 people. I would value the food for 50 pounds.
Nice environment and service
Great food. Excellent service from wonderful staff. My only complaint was that the table next to us were given petit four at the end of their meal but none were offered to us. Otherwise great restaurant
My favourite restaurant in all of London. Was perfect as usual!
Nice meal, sadly wouldn't accept opentable dining cheque though which is a shame.
Amazing! Will be back! Outstanding food and the atmosphere!
Excellent traditional french cuisine in nice surroundings, what more can you want...
Amazing from beginning to end. Staff were courteous and welcoming.
Despite the government’s restrictions on restaurants, having them close at 10, at no point did me or my party feel rushed. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
We happened upon on the restaurant by accident and we were pleasantly surprised how wonderful our experience was. The dining room was elegantly decorated, and the food was perfectly executed! I do not easily give a perfect however, L'Escargot deserves it.
We had the chateaubriand for two, French onion soup and of course – escargot. (Hot plates were brought to the table just before the entrée was delivered!). James our waiter was professional and friendly. The live piano music was the perfect enhancement to the already beautiful atmosphere, this on its own will have us going back. My new London fav!
Service was excellent.
Food (chateaubriand) always draws us back to L’Escargot. By far one of my favourite dishes👌🏼
Excellent ambience and service - very attentive without being intrusive. Covid-secure whilst almost feeling as though I was in a non-Covid world. Very nice food and a real treat to have soufflé at the end. I will definitely be returning
Great chateaubriand deal, beautifully cooked steak. Service was a little slow
Impressive on so many levels, l'Escargot combines the delightful irreverence of old school Soho and the high standards of traditional clubland dining into a sparkling and enthralling experience. From the cosy bar nestled in the rafters, to the dining room with live piano, the atmosphere here is absolutely unique and far beyond anything a newer upstart establishment could hope to imitate. The food too is magnificent, with the unashamedly moreish eponymous snails, hearty French onion soup, and fluffy pistachio soufflé being particular highlights on the menu. Come here for a date, a get-together, a business dinner or just for some plain old fun - this may not be the best restaurant in London, but it certainly is my favourite.
The service was excellent as was the food. I was with my girlfriend and the ambience was very relaxed and romantic. I dined there for the first time and will definitely do so again. Highly recommended.
Beautiful food, great service, very reliable restaurant
