It's the first restaurant we are at when we moved from the west coast eight years ago and still great.
Perfect environment to relax and enjoy the nice terrace
The lobster sliders were outstanding. The steak frites was served in an unusual bordelaise sauce that was delicious The service was attentive and friendly.
We went to L’Escale to celebrate our dear friend’s milestone birthday. She requested this restaurant and it was exactly the experience she had hoped for. The food was superb. The service was excellent and the ambiance lovely. We dined at fresco and the heaters kept us warm and comfortable on a lightly breezy day. Thank you L’Escale for making this occasion as special as we had planned.
One fine day/ one fine dining
This place is completely overrated. I would not suggest it to anyone. The food was mediocre (except for the baguette which was quite good). The service was slow including getting our order wrong and then make us wait for the the entree to be made. We used to really like this place but things have changed. I don't think we will be giving it another chance.
I should have known what to expect when my husband and I walked into the restaurant and up to the host station and the host didn’t look up for an awkward amount of time (about a minute +). When we were finally seated and it took about 20 mins to get water. After waiting 10 mins a second person asked us if we wanted water. The wait staff did not introduce themselves and the service in general was uncomfortably slow. It was so slow that when we ordered a bourbon towards the end of our meal it took 7 1/2 mins to receive....yes we timed it. I had the scallops (which were tasty) and asked for no pea purée however it was on my dish anyway. My husband had the filet which was just maybe average. The icing on the cake was that we overcharged $59 for something we did not order. When we asked the waiter he said (with confidence) it was for oysters...but we had a seafood platter that came with oysters and did not order them separately. The manager came over and took off that charge and our drinks which was nice. When I left I went to the restroom to find toilet paper and towels on the floor of the stall and next to the garbage. I was highly disappointed. As a fancier restaurant in Greenwich I had very high expectations. We will not go back.
Really enjoyed eating here! The service was great!
Great atmosphere, excellent food, good service, nice place
Perfect cuisine, service and atmosphere! Always a family favorite!
Everything about our lunch was perfect. We were celebrating my birthday and our son and daughter in laws anniversary. The salad Nicoise was excellent as was the chicken paillard. For dessert they brought a wonderful selection to choose from... all excellent especially the parfait.
We have been dining at L’Escale for 16 years regularly and love it.
Paillard pounded excessively and overbooked.. Hanger steak marinated too long and over sauced.
Great room, very fine service, but the food has to carry the day.
The bouillabaisse was outstanding. The pasta was cooked to perfection. We will be back
Look forward to a return visit. Everything was great
Excellent food abd service.
Another outstanding dining experience at L’Escale. It is our go to restaurant for all occasions and no occasions. It was my birthday and we were treated to a glass of champagne and a Happy Birthday dessert. The staff and food never disappoints. We love L’Escale.
I love L’escale. Their covid practices makes us feel safe. The entire staff is so nice and it was wonderful to dine there.
This visit reminded me of what I miss during these times. The food was very good and the staff quite attentive without being overbearing. I am rarely in Greenwich, but L’Escale gives me a reason to return.
Very innovative menu with daily changes for current market conditions of fresh food. The best tuna tartare that changes preparation every few months. And the fresh local oysters are the best around.
Victor at the bar, David in charge, and the entire staff really make dining an experience rather than just a meal out!
This is unsolicited, just a happy repeat customer
Very pleasant. We sat on the terrace. Had a birthday lunch.
Perfect as usual. Thank you Camilla
Great food in an outdoor setting with impeccable service.
We had an excellent lunch in the tent. Absolutely delicious - including the ice cream sundae and home made cookies for dessert!
Beautiful restaurant with great service. The fish was fresh and beautifully presented. Our waiter was attentive and kept out water glasses full. Will definitely be back.
Food was fresh and delicious and service was outstanding
Lovely setting, beautiful food, outstanding service.
We were seated in the corner in an outdoor covered space. They periodically had switch off and then switch on the heating because when the heating was switched off it was too cold and when the heating was on for too long it was unbearably hot. We would have an OK with this if it had been the last table in the restaurant. However they were many tables that are empty when we were seated.
Overall nice. Food service slow. A bit too pricey but worth it.
I wanted a special place to celebrated my birthday and this was the perfect setting, all worked well and we all went home feeling happy and renewed to face COVID
Such a special place! Always a great meal... try the brunch, stay for dinner! Beautifully appointed interior and covid safe outdoor dining. The staff is friendly and attentive but also let you enjoy your guests. Love the cocktails and desserts... classy from start to finish!
Great food great service.
Food was amazing, on the pricier side, but understandable.
What a wonderful experience!!! I would recommend to anyone looking for amazing food and a great time
Our meal was the best I’ve had in many months! They easily accommodated the complex food allergies of my date. I had the nettle soup and seared black bass, both of which were divine and perfectly prepared. My date had the artichoke saffron risotto with vegetable sides. I’m inspired to attempt the cauliflower dish at home, which was simple but sublime.
It was a bit noisy for us but just because there was a group of young people at the next table who were celebrating a birthday and the tequila was flowing. I expect this restaurant is normally fairly subdued. We will be back!
Loved it. It’s very upscale. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family
Great food, great service, great location. Can’t wait to go back!
My favorite escape
L'Escale is one of my favorite "go to" restaurants.....
Most especially before the pandemic....It is beautiful, well located, convenient, and usually a good selection of foods to choose from.
Food never disappoints!
