The iconic, l’escale restaurant bar, or “port of call” for seasonal Mediterranean cuisine is designed to transport the ambiance of Provence to the Gold Coast of Connecticut. Two-hundred-year-old stone terra cotta tiles from Provence adorn the floors with a wood burning fireplace lending an unmistakable charm and beauty.
Founded by Rick Wahlstedt in 2003, l’escale has reached institution status. Located at Delamar Greenwich Harbor Hotel, the restaurant’s intimate decor, along with its wrought iron tonelle covered waterfront terrace and exquisitely designed menu by award winning Executive Chef Frederic Kieffer will deliver the Côte d’Azur right to your table.

Birthday brunch celebration. Frittata, pancakes, georgette salad with grilled chicken, buckwheat crepe w with smoked salmon and over easy egg were all outstanding. Service excellent as always. Great place to celebrate a special occasion or brunch date or with family.
We try to get here for Sunday brunch at least once a month. They have a regular brunch menu which has great variety, but also offer a prix fix menu that is quite nice. We also go to dinner as well.
Food and drinks were fabulous.
Service unobtrusive and very welcoming
Wonderful experience as always!
Great scene, great food, great service. Great great great!
Whenever I’m in Greenwich L’Escale is the 1st place I pick for dinner. I love the ambience and the staff in the restaurant. The staff is very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. The best in Greenwich!
Beautiful setting, amazing food, top notch service.
This restaurant is one of the best restaurants I have dined at. The decor, food and service were excellent!!
This is one of our favorite restaurants in town. The food is consistently good and the brunch menu has variety and is fairly priced. The prix fix menu for brunch is a good deal.
My friends have dined here several times before. I have always loved the place for its ambience and convenience. While generally we had a good time, our seating was not the best. We were placed in the walkway by the kitchen staff. We asked to move but there was no other tables available and the host indicated that there was a table in the lounge. Like really? They had live music that night. That would have killed the night for us with all of the noise and traffic. Next time we decide to go there I will have to request better seating in advance, if we decide to back there as there are plenty other restaurants in Greenwich to choose from.
Wonderful experience! We asked for a table by the fireplace for a birthday, and got the best table in the house. Thank you all!!
Food was a special lunch (Hungarian)and it was not good very disappointed
Love L’Escale! Food always top flight and the bar such a great space.
I went for my birthday with the expectación to have a special breakfast with my friends. The last reservation is allow to be made at 9:30 am so we made it at that time and since the minute we arrived (9:30 sharp) they rushed us telling us kitchen close at 10 am. They clearly were more interested to get things done fast to can close our account so we won’t be bothering asking for another cup or coffee. The mood was really bad in the general staff. And they ruined ours too. If they don’t want to serve you at that time they shouldn’t allow people to do a reservation. When you go to this kind of places you are looking (and paying) for a nice table, food and manners and also, you don’t want to be rush. Worst birthday breakfast ever.
A cozy and wonderful restaurant next to the hotel. We had a festive dinner (Valentine’s Day weekend) and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back.
Michael the Head Captain on the evening we were there, was so kind and gracious to us. Just lovely.
Absolutely excellent French cuisine. Wonderful ambiance, especially in front of that big warm fireplace. Fantastic service. The bread pudding is to die for.
Staff was great. We did have to wait 20 min. to get seated even though we had a reservation. I will not hold it against the staff as it was Valentines Day and busy. We were also disappointed that we were not allowed to purchase from the regular diner menu. This was my first time at L’Escale and had researched the menu ahead of time and had something specific in mind. Only the pre fixe menu was available for Valentines Day. Keep this in mind if you are visiting during a holiday. Overall the food was good and I would recommend to others.
Valentine’s Day dinner. They had a very reasonably priced pre-fixed three course menu for $85/pp. great service. Nice romantic ambiance.
Good food but bad experiencs. Our second time there and unfortunately they sat us at what must have been the worst table in the place both times...right by the servers station. Disappointed as I was really hoping they would take care of us this time but perhaps they were saving better seats for a different target clientele.
Our Valentine's Day dinner at L'Escale was simply perfect. The decor was appropriately festive for the occasion and the food (oysters, halibut, gnocchi with lamb ragout) could not be beat. The service was on point as well- David truly made us feel like part of the family.
We always go to Lescale every valetines day, best place to spend it with loved ones, every thing was on point
I always have a great experience at L’escale.
Exceptionally delicious food, great service, and I’m always greeted so warmly when I walk in the door.
One of the living rooms of Greenwich. Enjoyed a solo dinner in the lounge. Five star service, great guitarist and singer, and the most tender and flavored veal can’t describe the dream! It was the best $54 entree ever - incredibly proportioned and I ate every bite. Homemade from yesteryear. See you again soon!
Kitchen couldn't get my jamon and gruyere omelette together even after a couple of attempts.
Absolutely beautiful setting for a date night or special occasion. Service was great and food was delicious, especially the oysters and the desserts.
Considering it was very busy, the food and service were up to standard.
As always, my favorite place to go! Wish we had more time! Do keep up the consistency and quality! Meera
There's nothing to not love about this place. Food, service, interiors, wine list, cocktails, live music in the lounge ...all amazing.
I love the ambience at L’Escale and I would recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends.
Never a disappointment. My favorite go to restaurant for special occasions.
Service & food were outstanding as usual. Beautiful setting. Highly recommend.
Lunch with a friend.
Food is consistently excellent. Service is gracious and very well done.
Superior in every way!
The service and the food was excellent
Very disappointed. Meal was very mediocre and service inattentive. Given this is an expensive restaurant I expected more. Will not be going back.
One of the best meals I've had including many times in Paris.
Very nice venue for lunch -- pleasant ambience with fire in the fireplace and sun streaming in through the picture windows. The service is attentive, the menu offers a varied selection, and the food is quite good.
It's always a treat to come to L'Escale. Though we love eating outside in summer, the room is light and airy anytime of year. All the staff are friendly, and the menu changes so the food remains good yet never boring.
