I eat out often at what are reputed to be the best places but rarely find any spot so consistently wonderful as L'escale. The service is always as fast as you like it to be and the staff professionally pleasant.

The dessert chef is a wonder.

We dined at L'Escale while visiting Greenwich and were pleasantly surprised. We absolutely loved our experience! The ambiance, the service and especially the food were outstanding! We felt like we stumbled onto a jewel and will certainly be back. We look forward to returning when the outside patio is open.

Very nice restaurant & impeccable service.
A little pricey, but good. Portion size were good for value. Good atmosphere in bar & dining area. Were able to accommodate my requests.
My only hang up was I believe it was described as Mediterranean on Google, but it is more learned to French.

Perfectly cooked fish but everything else was under-seasoned. A solid effort at creative cocktails, but they sort of miss the mark. Wonderful service and a beautiful room. Inexplicably high prices.

Fabulous French menu. Great service - we had Natasha waiting on our table who even took the trouble to find out the grapes used in the champagne we ordered! The Burrata and Char were great. The Bouillabaisse was very nice although I like the soup to be a bit thicker and stronger flavoring ... but overall a wonderful evening.

The venue is wonderful for parties and weddings and I am certainly going back often !

Always a great experience and in addition to the food being exceptional both in preparation and consistency for us who frequent the restaurant. Above and beyond are the staff--always aim to please. This is by far one of the best restaurants in the Greenwich area and its surrounds.

I ate brunch at L'Escale on Sunday, March 3. I had the smoked salmon crepes, which were good, BUT (and I think that this is big) the restaurant's website had been advertising for some time its international specialty meals, to be served over the course of a month or so. The last one, which according to the website was to run through March 3 (last Sunday), featured some Mediterranean dishes, including Provencal fish soup, which I love, and I timed my visit to coincide with that meal. When I asked the waiter about it, he said he didn't think that that meal was served on Sunday. He then checked and came back and said that it was unavailable. I pointed out that the website said otherwise (all the special meals were to run through Sunday of whatever week). He said "Sorry, guess it might have been a misprint or something". I would not call it a misprint; I would call it false advertising, bait and switch or words to that effect. I then ordered something else and that was the end of it. I would have expected at a bare minimum a real apology ("sorry, guess it might have been a misprint or something" is no more an apology than "sorry you were caught in the rain" is an apology for the weather). This was not a third party error, but was on the website of that venue, and was up for a fairly lengthy period of time. Maybe a little token in addition to an apology (maybe a complimentary glass of wine) would have been in order, but nothing at all was offered beyond the non-apology. I enjoy the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, and a couple of times a year I go there, and eating at L'Escale first has generally been a real treat. The place is pleasant, right on the water, and the food is good. I now think, though, that it might be time to find some other options in Greenwich.

Great location, will have to try again in summer for outdoor seating. Service was great, the only time we weren’t checked up on was between dessert and getting the check so there was no feeling rushed. And the food, no need to go into detail - all excellent. Must return!!

Our first time at the Delamar hotel (L’Escale is attached-it is the hotel’s restaurant). At the last minute we decided to stay inside the hotel and eat at L’Escale. I really feel that if we didn’t eat here we would have missed out on a great experience. The room is not the typical dark wood of a fine restaurant- it is light wood, fireplace and wicker. Then the food comes out and it’s as delicious as any I’ve ever had! My point, this is a restaurant for any occasion. It’s a nice mix of high end and comfy.
The meal started with a complimentary soup in a small tastings cup, complimentary. I had the escargot appetizer with toasted bread. Declicious garlicy flavor. My husband had the smoked salmon plate and he enjoyed it very much. I had the gnocchi and my husband the halibut. As a fisherman, I’ll take it from him that it was very fresh and prepared just right. Both our meals were delicious. The service was also great. This is a must for the area! Enjoy

There appeared to be a team approach to wait staff that resulted in no person paying attention. Ordered food was delivered promptly. Individual requests, e.g. a glass of ice, required three requests.

Got seated 50 minutes late for an 8:00 PM reservation. No apologies as though they feel entitled to seat us when they wanted to. Plus they texted me when the table was ready and my phone was on silent so they should inform you they are going to text! The service was awesome for the first hour until 9:45 then the staff was worrying about clean up and I could not find my waiter for 25 minutes. The busboy poured tap water over my wife's purchased bottled water. So what did they do? No apologies again then they charged for another bottle of water to replace the tap water mistake! We had to wait 5 minutes for the bill to be corrected. When a waitress who had been at nearby tables earlier just showed up and asked if we wanted coffee some 15 minutes after we finished dessert I asked who are you and where has our waiter been? She said he is done for the night with no introduction nothing. We wanted espresso ordered when the desserts were delivered because some restaurants serve the espresso too soon before dessert. We could not find our waiter to place the order. What good is an awesome chef with awesome food with sub-standard service? Great food is just good food with bad service! I will only return to use up my gift card that I bought myself to get 20% extra otherwise I will not return! I bought the gift card while there for Sunday brunch weeks ago with my kids which was very good.

We ate a delicious dinner at L'Escale. The house Rose was dry, cold, and the wine steward was both helpful and friendly. My wife began with a cured salmon and blini plate and I ordered the escargots--bubbling in a buttery garlic. Both were excellent. I kept it simple--a perfectly prepared filet mignon with béarnaise--surrounded by poached asparagus and a creamy potato dish. My wife ordered a lobster fettuccini that was more than appetizing. The portions are generous and we had no room for dessert---just coffee and a generous plate of cookies (both French and Italian style) that made it to the doggie bag! L'Escale is not cheap--but truly worth the "stop over". (Pardon the pun!) BTW the service was extraordinary and even the parking valet was excellent. Andy Morse

The service was impeccable...everyone there was very courteous, professional and obviously well versed in client relations and service levels. The food was delicious - although I wasn't 100% thrilled with the potatoes with the halibut, the fish was wonderful, salads were perfect also. My daughter had the Asian special and loved all of it...but the vegetable combination in the center. Sometimes its just personal taste - we both felt some of the flavor combinations weren't working for us, but we would definitely go again!
