One of the best lunch spots in Greenwich, especially if you want to sit outside.
There is no better place to dine in Greenwich. We have been eating there regularly for 16 years and see no reason to go to other restaurants.
It is always a pleasant experience. The location is great.
Love L'Escale. Sitting outside is beautiful. Very good wait staff, everyone friendly and
the food you can have small plates or main meals. Nice get-a-way and a wonderful
place to meet friends for some laughter and normalcy.
Top notch in every respect. Would definitely recommend and go again.
Went for brunch and they forgot my cappuccino, food was great, burger came and I finished it and the fries still did not arrive , acknowledged by the bartender and they comped items from the check which I appreciated, but at the scale of this type of place I expected a seamless experience.
Beautiful place, great service and very good food. Diverse menu and excellent wine selections.
We had a wonderful family time celebrating my birthday — and life!
My favorite place in Greenwich. Ambiance and food is fabulous. Staff couldn’t be any nicer or more accommodating.
Food was fresh and good and came quickly, but server forgot to bring my glass of wine during my meal. I had to flag him and it arrived in the last few bites of my lunch but would have been nice to have it sooner.
Always a great experience!
Excellent food, service.
My meal (lobster fra Diablo) was mediocre but my wife’s scallops was assume! So less than a usual high mark.
A very pleasant experience. As always , it was a great lunch.
Really disappointed. Service was terribly slow. Took too long to get a drink order. Food order very delayed. After dinner was put on table, no check back. I did not like one small plate. Only after we finished eating did someone clearing the table asked what was wrong with the food and offered me something else. My wine glass was empty for over 10 minutes before anyone noticed and asked if I would like another glass of wine. I had to ask 6 or seven times for the door to the patio to be closed. We were freezing, so eventually I asked to be moved for dessert. Very unprofessional service. Menu very limited. We spent a great deal of money, drinks appetizers , entrees and desserts. The only thing going for the place is the view.
The service and staff was phenomenal
Great ambiance, service and amazing food! We will definitely come back. My family all had a great time.
Very pretty place great service . The food was simple and good.
Another great dining experience. I’ve been here for dinner but this was my first time for breakfast. Outdoor patio was open and it was very relaxing.
Upscale restaurant. Flavours were really developed. Small plates with lots of flavour. The chicken pillard was amazing. The soufle was just on a different different level of delicoiusness. The creamy white and milk chocolate dipped in pistacchio cream - yumm! Ambiance for dinner was cosey, south of France feel.
Always fun. Great food and service. Beautiful setting
Have been coming here for many years and have never been disappointed. Everything is always first class.
Unfortunately when I made the Open Table reservation I neglected to sign in and thus did not receive points. I have been an Open Table member for many years and have received many points over time. Is there any way I can still get these points?
As always, a wonderful night! Food is five star and service and attentiveness is excellent. Felt safe and that COVID protections are being well managed. Enjoy.
Thru no fault of its own L'Escale has suffered because of the Covid protocols it must follow. The atmosphere that I love it now not present. The food is still very good, but I wish it could have the same buzz from having its large dining room filled to capacity.
Great view from deck
Thanks you all
Outstanding, food, service and setting. Great place for a special evening.
Spacious inside and on patio. Very pleasant atmosphere for lunch.. Service attentive and food was very good.
It's the first restaurant we are at when we moved from the west coast eight years ago and still great.
Perfect environment to relax and enjoy the nice terrace
The lobster sliders were outstanding. The steak frites was served in an unusual bordelaise sauce that was delicious The service was attentive and friendly.
We went to L’Escale to celebrate our dear friend’s milestone birthday. She requested this restaurant and it was exactly the experience she had hoped for. The food was superb. The service was excellent and the ambiance lovely. We dined at fresco and the heaters kept us warm and comfortable on a lightly breezy day. Thank you L’Escale for making this occasion as special as we had planned.
One fine day/ one fine dining
This place is completely overrated. I would not suggest it to anyone. The food was mediocre (except for the baguette which was quite good). The service was slow including getting our order wrong and then make us wait for the the entree to be made. We used to really like this place but things have changed. I don't think we will be giving it another chance.
I should have known what to expect when my husband and I walked into the restaurant and up to the host station and the host didn’t look up for an awkward amount of time (about a minute +). When we were finally seated and it took about 20 mins to get water. After waiting 10 mins a second person asked us if we wanted water. The wait staff did not introduce themselves and the service in general was uncomfortably slow. It was so slow that when we ordered a bourbon towards the end of our meal it took 7 1/2 mins to receive....yes we timed it. I had the scallops (which were tasty) and asked for no pea purée however it was on my dish anyway. My husband had the filet which was just maybe average. The icing on the cake was that we overcharged $59 for something we did not order. When we asked the waiter he said (with confidence) it was for oysters...but we had a seafood platter that came with oysters and did not order them separately. The manager came over and took off that charge and our drinks which was nice. When I left I went to the restroom to find toilet paper and towels on the floor of the stall and next to the garbage. I was highly disappointed. As a fancier restaurant in Greenwich I had very high expectations. We will not go back.
Really enjoyed eating here! The service was great!
Easter early dinner. Nice. Busy.
Great atmosphere, excellent food, good service, nice place
Perfect cuisine, service and atmosphere! Always a family favorite!
