Great for anniversary celebration
The room is beautiful as is the setting. The food was outstanding. We started w the lobster appetizer w avocado beets and artichoke. The citrus flavors were sophisticated The Lentil soup was as good as it gets. Entrees of lamb chops and duck were almost as impressive as were sides of mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. Deserts were fine but not memorable.
The service was just ok. Pleasant enough. A bit spotty with some gaps that we’re too long and occurred a bit too often. The big disappointment was the one man “band” from the bar w really loud music from the bar that intruded into the dining room during the last hour of our 630 ( Saturday)reservation. Like dining with a wedding in the next room. Totally incongruous with a fine dining experience.
If you want a lively bar scene -OK but a loud band in the next room w open curtains just doesn’t work. Start later ? 1030 maybe?Or choose between the loud music vs a fine dining experience but not both at the same time. The juxtaposition was almost comical -Otherwise a lovely evening
This is one of the finest restaurants I have ever been too. The location on the water is stunning and to be met by the highly efficient valet is always welcome. We walked into the stunning dining room which was warmed by a roaring fire. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a discerning palette.
I really enjoyed my experience. I liked the service. The food was incredible.
Everything at the restaurant was just perfect. Great food and great service. Love the atmosphere and the fireplace.
Delicious food. Quiet ambience. Pretty place. Nice staff.
We went for NYE dinner. The decor was beautiful, the service professional and not rushed, and the food outstanding. I do not know how they could have done a better job.
Lovely spot. Attentive staff, nice menu. Valet parking.
Everything was. Amazing especially food and service. Staff.
Mike runs a great restaurant and bar. My fav! Was my Anniversary and he recognized it. Did a phenomenal job!
Food was excellent. Service can be improved.
We were let be seated at the table where we did not feel comfortable although there were other available tables.
Very much enjoyed our time together for Christmas Eve! Thanks to the wonderful staff who were very warm and attentive.
Excellent food, good waiter’s service
Amazing birthday lunch the food was outstanding and how cute the waitstaff came out and sang happy birthday to me.
We had an outstanding meal--delicious food, beautiful setting, fairly quiet and attentive service. We will definitely return!
Used to be a gem with excellent food and service, place is tired, bathroom doors filthy, needs painting to clean up moldings/trim work. Update decor and overall refresh as location is excellent. Food was fair at best with prices that are not reflective of what is provided. Bartender excellent, staff try’s however, with all that is available in Greenwich this old gem needs a revamp to compete!
Luxurious brunch in Greenwich. Everything you could have hoped for. Will repeat when up for another splurge
My husband & I went to have an early Christmas before getting together with everyone for the holidays. We had our wedding reception there almost 16 years ago. Food, service and ambiance were outstanding. It’s a special place that never disappoints
Great brunch fish. Busy but not rushed. Nice ambiance.
We had a good time - menu a bit
Limited hoping for French onion soup
Had chef’s omelet- good but would have liked stronger cheese presence
Otherwise great time despite comments would return- our waitress was great attentive and kind
Incredible. Service, ambiance, and delicious. 10 out of 10.
Great food. Gracious service.
Wonderful food, quality well presented and fresh. Staff serving were polite, attentive and you felt cared and catered for, thank you for a wonderful experience in a beautiful setting
Always delicious and impressive and people and waiters so willing to help!
Service was great! They were really accommodating to my husbands food allergy. We sat in the bar area, which got a little crowded and loud, but it’s also a bar! That’s to be expected. Overall it was a very good experience and I will be bringing people there in the future!
A lovely dining room with water views and excellent food and choices. Plus, for Greenwich, valet parking!!!!
This was our second time L'Escale and it was, just like the first time, amazing. We're definitely coming back! If I may make one suggestion, I would say that there could be more entree options for vegetarians (vegans etc.).
Wonderful food and service.
The food was very good. Service was a little slow at first in spite of a plethora of bus boys.
We had a very enjoyable dinner. The salmon, cod, and duck were all excellent and the staff was super attentive and friendly. The room had a beautiful fireplace going and the noise level was moderate. Recommend!
The service was rude. Waited almost 30 minutes for dessert only for them to bring out a different item and tell me my item was out. Management was condescending when I provided feedback.
Staff was overwhelmed, everything took too long and was wrong, things we ordered were unavailable 4x, by the end of the dinner the waiter just brought random food to the table. Very expensive and very bad. Never again L’Escale.
We are frequent diners at L'Escale, and they outdid themselves for Thanksgiving. Their menu was fabulous, and gave everyone a choice of favorites, new preparations of traditional foods, and fun surprises. The staff seemed extremely skilled at what they did and were very pleasant as they made it the best Thanksgiving out we've ever had.
The rooms were set with plenty of space between tables, allowing for safety and enjoyable dining. We plan to make this our go to place for years to come.
Drinks were weak & expensive. Food was ok but overpriced
Food was ok, service ok, restaurant super noisy on a Tuesday night. 3 tables of drunk people screaming their heads off. We Avery hard to have a conversation. Worst thing, zero COVID precautions. Nobody checked vaccination cards, none of the staff was were wearing masks. We were uncomfortable the entire meal even though asked to sit in corner away from all the people, unmasked staff kept reaching over us to clear plates or serve. Won’t be recommending this place
Had very long lunch (1:30- 5pm) never rushed. So nice to be able to just sit and talk!
Our usual favorite restaurant was marred slightly this time by a private party monopolizing one dining room with ear shattering disco music.
