Les Enfants Terribles - Montreal Ratings and Reviews
Real cool look to the place. Waitress sat the two of us at a table for 6.... so it seems they will sit strangers together..not good for romantic evening. Waitress described specials..then came back to tell us she had it wrong and listed the real specials. Then she came back to tell us there were out of the one I wanted (out of special at 6pm!)
Salads were HUGE... easily able to share them.....everything was really good.... nothing standard...even the Caesar salad had a unique flair.
Good food, good atmosphere great buzz
Went out in Montreal snow storm important late lunch, with 2 people, had eaten here. Arrived at 3pm- specials on "wall-blackboard" made choice, only to be told those lunch meals not available now. Ordered coffee. Was lukewarm. Returned it. Manager brought another cup. Next, was served wrong meal -waiter said sorry. 2 friends finished eating. Lost my appetite. Told waiter to cancel AngusBurger. How can they get that wrong? Did not need to be stressed and left without meal. Told manager- he too said -" sorry" Was stressed needlessly. Was bad experience. Waitstaff did not care. Sorry did not fix anything.
I had already been here for brunch and loved it so I came back for dinner. The service was great! Quick and friendly. The waitress was able to answer all of our questions and make a delicious wine recommendation. I had the salmon tartar which was fantastic. Will definitely go back!
We enjoyed our lunch at the restaurant.
The one thing that bothered us was the smoke and with it burned oil smell that seemed to be due poor air conditioning.
Our waiter also missed to bring us the appetizer dish we had ordered which I thinks was because the number of waitresses appeared too low for the number of tables/clients they had to serve.
But the food was goods and people were friendly.
All in all we had a good time.
J'y retournerais !
The place was lively and vibrant. The service was quick. The music was a little loud made it hard to hear the specials. The Rabbit was delicious. Enjoyed the experience overall. Would definitly go back probably with a group just so you can be as loud as you want. Not so good for intimate encounters.
The restaurant was recommended by friends. We were visiting from Vermont even though I had lived in Montreal many years ago. Had a great time. Food was very good, service was excellent. Only concern was the noise level. Otherwise we would certainly return. Merci!!
The food was fantastic, and the service was friendly - however, and this is not the first time this has happened, once our plates were cleared, we did not see our waitress for a good 30 minutes. And at that point, it was not that busy anymore. Otherwise delicious food.
Perfect for a cool summer evening but best to have a table of 4 (very high noise level) so you can hear each other and enjoy the food.We had a great waitress who let us try 2 wines before we ended up choosing the more expensive Italian red because it was much better ! Our mains were salmon tartare, hamburger with yummy fries, pork ribs, and the cornish hen.Everyone enjoyed the
food.We'll be back again
I loved the food. The ambience was outstanding I would definitely bring a group of friends for just dinner or maybe a special occasion. My only criticism is that the restaurant was way too loud to the point where I could not hear what the waitress was saying.
Food was absolutely fantastic! Really great combinations and tastes at a great price. However, service was one of the worst I have ever experienced-amateurish and inexperienced staff with very little management supervision. Our waitress was constantly late and forgetful-had to remind her for utensils, condiments, etc. Then, waited close to 20 minutes to have our main plate cleared off the table-and waited over 30 minutes to have our bill presented to us! Worst part was that we saw our waitress walk out the front door in her jeans and handbag over her shoulder, she had completely forgotten us! Manager would not speak with us and hostess lacked experience and responsibility to deal with us. Terrible dinning experience-be careful of this place.
Went with a girlfriend for lunch. I wasn't impressed with the specials and thus ordered off the regular menu.
I had the lamb burger. About 2 hours later i felt aweful. Thank goodness I was near home.
Waiter was a
Bit off. Didn't refill water, forgot codiments, and wasn't as charming as is the usual case at Les Enfants.
Even though we were squeezed a little, because of the high number of tables they had for the small-medium size establishment they have, we had absolutely no trouble discussing.
We ate some '' Mousse de volaille'' ( Kinda the same texture of a foie gras ) for starter on roasted baguette. It was simply delicious for me and she says the experience was near org*smic!
For the main dish I took a roasted chicken '' de Cornouaille'' and loved it a long time, with mushroom over and mashed potato under and a great sauce I can't remember the name.. Still it was a pleasure to eat.
While she took a salmon tartare which was probably one of the greatest I ever tasted, no joke.
Don't forget to get your reservation, with the summer it's a must!
I enjoy coming here as it's an escape from the Anglo side of the city.
I see different faces and enjoy the food. The waiters/tresses are always friendly and make for part of the overall dining experience.
The food is generally tasty, certain dishes are better than others.
Good for comfort food like burgers, fish and chips, as well as salads. My companion loves their salmon with quinoa dish.
2nd time dining here. Great vibe in the restaurant. Food was outstanding. The chalkboard specials keep things interesting. Small service mix-up, that was corrected expediently. Small comp would have been appreciated though for the inconvenience. Try the tirmisu
