Les 400 Coups Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic Dining Experience. We had a really nice date at 400 Coups on Sat night. Amazingly orginal wines (on another level!) by the glass, fantastic service, and sumptuous food. The venison tartar, chantrelle pasta, osters and local pate were all amazing. After some serious cocktails and dessert we left with big smiles. Great people watching, great staff.
such elegant and thoughtful food - and GREAT wine list. The waiters were incredibly knowledgable about wine and the menu and we were so impressed by the quality and complexity of the food. small bites - great for a date - A+!!! We had a red wine that was described as "ink like" and "almost carbonated" - if it's on the menu it's a MUST. Very unique.
Restaurant was quite nice, service was good but the food wasn't fantastic for the price. Portions are very small but nonetheless satisfying. First two courses were very good, chanterelles and the cauliflower, left us expecting greatness for the rest.
Sadly, the other two were quite dispointing and did not make me want to go back for more of anything.
We read the menu before making our reservation and we were quite excited about the promise suggested by the menu. The staff were all very patient, welcoming and helpful but the food was a huge disappointment. Please don't misunderstand, there were some good flavours to savour but had it not been for the bread, we would have returned home feeling quite expensively hungry. It's a nice place but the dishes are all small and here, please note we do understand the meaning of 'tapas' and 'pinchos', but you need a lot of them in this restaurant, if you are expecting dinner! We thought the menu would benefit from some additional larger plates.
Disappointed by the price/value of the different plates. The food is good but the small portions makes it very expansive. The quality is good but not outstanding for the price. The service was ok, nothing more. After going there for years, we will not go back...
We enjoyed the tasting menu! My favorites were the tomato "soup" and the lobster dish. The restaurant temperature was hot. Occasionally I had a waft of cooler air from the open door. I was so hot, I kept mopping my face with my napkin. Otherwise it was a great experience.
