Food was good, service was not. Had a reservation at 8, wasn't sat until 8:30, did not receive appetizers until 9, and didn't get an entree until 9:30. Had to get up and go to the bar for a drink refill at one point. Spent 2 hours at the restaurant and only about 45 minutes eating.
Their service is slow. Really slow which offsets the quality of food. Took forever to get drinks, appetizers and food. They need to get their act together.
Food was excellent, service was horrible. Steak tartare and Mussels were amazing. Our waitress was nonexistent.
Great food and very attentive service. The music was a bit loud at first but at our request it was turned down and we had a very lovely dinner.
The Sunday dinner was amazing for the price, I will definitely be back for that again. But I'll try to come a little earlier next time because they had run out of a few things on the prix fixe menu.
Great Mother's Day Brunch. Will for sure go back.
Great room...European vibe...friendly yet refined service...and most importantly, excellent food. It’s hard to find a restaurant that you can’t wait to go back to but this is one of them.
This has been my favorite restaurant since we moved to downtown Denver a couple of years ago. Everything about it is great (it is not inexpensive, but definitely worth every penny!). The food is so delicious, the staff fantastic, and the ambiance is quiet and romantic. The cauliflower crème brûlée (hors douvre) and the seared mushroom mille-feuille (entree) are my favorites (I'm a pescatarian), and the PEI mussels are also to die for! This is a great place to honors special occasions with a relatively small group.
Bravo to the team at Le Roux. This was a brilliant surprise for an early Mother's Day dinner. We were expecting a nice, casual dinner and were immediately blown away by the ambiance, decor, and service. The food was exceptional... full stop. Every dish was unique, well-balanced, and beautiful. Moreover, the value at Le Roux is excellent. This type of quality at other restaurants would have much more expensive. The cauliflower creme brulee, the french onion soup, the cheese plate, the BEST mussels ever, and that pistachio choux pastry. I made another reservation for next month before leaving.
It was my birthday.
Always such a treat. LeRoux never disappoints. Thanks for another amazing meal + great service!
Fantastic meal at LeRoux. We loved everything we ate, and had a superb bottle of wine.
Dishes that surprise and delight.
We are eager to visit again.
Great food and excellent service, Sunday funday vibes!
We loved it! Some things felt a little over priced, but the food was great and so was the service.
Very good food with interesting choices. Staff was very courteous and quickly moved us to a quieter table when we asked to be relocated. Free parking in the underground garage at SugarCube was a great benefit.
Dining at Le Roux is like dining at a Michelin starred restaurant--the food, the wine, the menu choices-- all excellent. We have never been disappointed.
Best Restaurant week experience any of us have ever had. Portions were very large for a restaurant week experience. We were allowed to order extra items also. Just fantastic from the host staff to the end!! Will go back!
Food was outstanding! Spectacular! We arrived on time, delayed on our first drinks, only when a course was delivered did the wait staff come to our table. Even though we had an allocated 2 hours, meal service was rushed, no addition drink refills without waving down service to request, our water glasses were not refilled when wait staff came to the table. Our check dropped off before checking in if we wanted anything else like coffee or night cap. Management missed on up selling opportunities! In Out in 65 minutes for a 3 course meal! Far too rushed! The food is worth the visit, but the service could really use some training on timing and attention to their patrons and the natural rhythm for fine dining.
The menu for the Denver Restaurant Week is very good. Do not miss the Paris-Brest.
From the wonderful anise and asparagus amuse-bouche to the tantalizing cheeses and the fantastic drinks, we were off to a wonderful start. Great timing, presentation, and ambiance. We received our main entree and were quite pleased with the short rib and the onion soup, as well as a side order of truffle fries that had just the right crunch. We finished up with both desserts because we couldn't resist - the pot de creme and the paris-brest. The chocolate was smooth and almost flan-like with a rich flavor, and the paris-brest was smooth and very light - the server suggested that it could be taken home and wonderful with coffee which tempted me to get another, but I resisted. Overall a wonderful treat and a really pleasant step back into reality post-covid.
The music was rudely obtrusive, but more about that later.
The food was good (not fabulous), but too long in coming. For a moment I feared that my chicken ("half-chicken"? >) was underdone, though it proved to be okay. The cheese plate was notably meager.
While I appreciate slow food and taking time over a meal, we finally asked for bread to fill the inordinate gap between our first course and entree (which seemed to surprise the staff). We then received just a few lonely slices of bread toasted on the grill, but no butter to go with them. By the time our entrees arrived we only remembered what we had ordered due to our growing frustration with the passage of time and our increasing hunger.
In contrast to this (and I should add that the restaurant was not busy) the service was both abrupt and interrupting -- but I suppose I'd be impatient and tense if I had to work in the midst of that "music's" blaring caterwaul, too. Furthermore, the staff seemed to be aping sophistication without actually possessing any. More training is needed. Finally, the bartender's fingernails appeared dirty when he brought our drinks to the table, which was off-putting.
Is the music supposed to impart a "hib vibe" to the place? It doesn't. Industrial techno is a weird choice for any restaurant with an average clientele older than 19, particularly when "paired" with fine French cuisine and played at far too loud a volume. It's bewildering -- an aurally inflicted torture better suited to extracting secrets from terrorists than to enhancing anyone's dining experience.
I'll stick with Bistro Vendome until LeRoux makes some changes.
Food was delicious. Gorgeous design in the restaurant. Impeccable service. Total experience was top-notch.
The food was absolutely superb and the restaurant was nice. The service was very, very slow. Never got asked if we wanted more drinks, it was 45 mins before we order our food and then it took over an hour to come out. They did go above and beyond to bring out a cake and I would go back, but not if you need a speedy meal! It messed up plans for the rest of my day it took so long.
Always a great choice...outstanding food and presentation..great service and always a great evening out!
Went here for Sunday Supper. It was a great deal, and the food was amazing. The service was very underwhelming considering the restaurant was very empty. It took a while to get more water, more wine, and have our check closed out.
The brunch was absolutely delicious! The chef is very creative. We will definitely return for dinner.
Food was great! Service was OK.
First of all, the food is sophisticated, beautiful, and delicious complimented by a very interesting wine list. However, the service was slow, inattentive, and spotty at best. If the staff could get organized, this place could be a real gem. Beautiful space and ambiance as well but, service failed miserably on our particular visit.
Most importantly, the food was amazing. Some of the items, I've never had anything quite like it before. I would go back tomorrow to continue trying more menu items but I strongly recommend the cauliflower appetizer, short ribs and the Paris-brest for dessert. My taste buds were in heaven. Service was also exceptional.
Food was amazing. I would give it a 5 but it took about 10 - 15 minutes before anyone came by, we had to ask.
Otherwise a delightful meal and evening!
Sunday Supper. Delicious, relaxing dinner. Resources were limited because of the fact that they were closing for a week, but everything was delicious, and the staff was gracious and accommodating. Great vibe, fun drinks, and the chocolate cake with blue cheese ice cream was a fun surprise.
Great food, decent service. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting great food in a laid back experience.
The chicken meal they had was too salty!! Like a lot of salt
It was amazing enough to give a 35 dollar tip
Special occasion or to treat yourself! Very romantic
We did the wine experience and loved every second! We have been to ChoLon several times, so we knew LeRoux would not disappoint. We can’t wait to go back!!
Also, they did a great job ensuring all Covid restrictions were in place.
Such a fantastic experience! I hope that you all continue to offer these 5-course meals because it was so AMAZING!
Fantastic wine pairing special dinner. Took us back to France, via foods, wine and special touches. Wonderful evening and I hope Chef Lon offers more of these.
a creative and well executed menu - great for lovers of french cuisine and contemporary adaptation of classics.
