   We were excited to try this new restaurant, but it seems like they need a little more time to get into the groove. We went on a Saturday night so it was crowded and they were understaffed. We saw our waiter once to order and once to pay for our check. At the price point of $500 for dinner and drinks, the value of the experience wasn’t worth it.

   The hostess greeted us. She was cordial, friendly and seated us immediately. The ambience was great. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we ordered many dishes. The server was nice, but that’s about it. He was not attentive for a Michelin rated restaurant. Unacceptable. It took almost 30 minutes to get 2 drinks ordered off the cocktail menu. While the sake came fairly quickly, we had to get out of our seats to ask someone what was taking so long. Unacceptable. Waters came for the four of us and were never refilled. Unacceptable. Once we ordered, we didn’t see the waiter more than once, until it was time for the bill. Unacceptable. I must tell you that while the food was delectable, the service was so poor that we’ll never come back as a result. Studio City and LA has way to many sushi restaurants that offer delicious fish and unique dishes, with much better service.

   Good food. Fair service. The timing was off. My partner ordered steak. I ordered sushi. His meal came out much sooner than mine. He was finished with his meal before mine was served. Not ideal. I heard other customers complaining about the service/timing as well. Too bad…..I had hoped for more but there are better options in the neighborhood.

   I was looking to plan a special meal for our anniversary and had read about how this was the “hottest” new sushi restaurant. And they weren’t wrong! I had no problem Making a reservation over a week ago and during that time they got a Michelin star and I guess the place blew up! Last night, as we heard from everyone who worked there (who were lovely) never experienced anything like it. The food was also to die for. I highly recommend the skewers which are a special and on a separate menu. Also the Udon Bolognese was so unique and different and I dreamt about it last night. At the end, the manager came to our table to congratulate us and it did make us feel special. This place was definitely an experience and I really hope we can get back asap! (Just hope we can be VIP now that I am sure it will be hard to get a reservation.)

   My husband and I sat at the counter and were fortunate enough to be served by Chef Shige san. We ordered the omakase, which I recommend. Everything was beautifully presented and everything tasted so light and flavorful.

   Read some good recent press about this place. We love Japanese food and decided to drive the 40 minutes to have dinner here on Friday night. Cool little vibe with a couple of bars off to the sides. Food was great. Service was mediocre. I ordered a Kampachi sashimi when my wife ordered her dessert and we waited close to 40 minutes for my final dish to show. I also had to ask for another bottle of Pellegrino at least four times before it showed up, they did take it off of the bill +10% which was very nice and we appreciate that, we may be back. The fish, however, was excellent and the menu exciting. Our waiter was great at the beginning.

   This is our second time at the restaurant, The food has been great both times but last night the service was lacking to say the least. We either got the food in five minutes or 25 minutes We got double the drinks we ordered One dish was totally undercooked but they did take it off the bill The kitchen and the wait staff have to coordinate better

    The name of the restaurant doesn’t suggest sushi, but some of the freshest fish I’ve had in some time. Ordered the Osaka se - make sure you’re hungry. The oxtail bar was more like the pastry used with Beijing duck, so lesss filling and more flavorful. The service was so friendly, from host to server.

    I’ve heard great things about Leona’s and been wanting to try it — it is fantastic! Incredible food, service and vibe all around. I’m so happy I only live a couple miles away, but it is worth the trip if not a local.

    Overall frenetic and disorganized staff. Lack knowledge of the menu. Couldn’t warn about allergies due to not knowing the menu. Huge space. Lacks food function. Food wasn’t bad but also not amazing. Super underwhelming experience. I wouldn’t go again.

    The vibe at Leona's is off the charts! The general ambiance gives the feeling of an expensive weho restaurant but is also warm and inviting. I've been twice, and every staff member I've encountered has been friendly and helpful. The FOOD is unreal- the udon is the stuff dreams are made of. For those who are a fan of a classic Old Fashion cocktail, don't miss their version mixed with suntory whiskey. Looking forward to returning soon!

    Came for dinner for 3, we sat in the living room instead of the garden, we first sat in the garden but the table we were in was too low and was seated next to the dj booth which was odd. So we got seated in the living room which had a really great vibe. Our server Tonya was very attentive, and extremely helpful. Our runners and bussers was on point. Cocktails was made in a flash except for when they forgot our espresso martini. They also forgot an order of the oxtail bao, but can be easily forgiven since they brought our rolls all at the same time. Overall it was a great time. The vibe and food was hand in hand.     Very cute place and I will be returning soon. The food was great and the service amazing. My only comment would be that the dishes were on the small size! But great transformation of the old restaurant.

    All good except prices much too high for what you get. The sushi was very fresh. The flavors so nice. But just too high to continue to come here. Good sushi nearby at lower prices. Music was fun and clubby - not too loud.

    I love Leona's! I live in the neighborhood and it's my favorite restaurant and hangout spot. I also like to host parties there occasionally. Frank and Jose are the nicest, most gracious people and makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable! And I love the food. I've never had a bad meal or experience!

    We did a couples date night here on a Sat night and it was such a great vibe. We love the decor, ambiance, and the sushi and food was amazing! Such a great addition to the valley! My only tip is do not sit in the sushi bar area unless you want a very quiet bright dinner. We got sat there at first despite booking the living room and requested a move to the patio because there was no ambiance or music in there. Patio and living room were great though! The bar seemed really fun too.

    This was my second visit and I found it to be just as delicious as the first time - it did not disappoint! I brought my daughter (a sushi lover) and she loved it too. Particularly loved the halibut sashimi with truffle and the one with ponzu, and the ceviche roll was amazing too! My sakitini was also delish! Our waitress was very nice, but brand new and did not have much info about the menu items. She was very nice though and brought someone else over to help us make choices. I sat again in the main room…will try the courtyard next time. Will def return!

    The sitting area is pretty awkward in the garden room. It was hard to hear my boyfriend. A lot of people have back problems so I feel that the sitting really limits a lot of people.

    Very disappointing experience and I'll stick to to the facts as opposed to opinions. This was on Valentine's Day. Pros: Lovely staff - friendly front of house and very catering. Good ambience, lighting and set-up Cons: Severely understaffed - waiters looked stressed, looked like no more than 3 wait staff catering to entire restaurant (on Valentine's Day) - waited a lot time to get served. This place is a Sushi house - they ran out of all Sushi, Sashimi? We were sat at 845pm and they close at midnight? Fairly cold, heating was sub-par. Due to dietary requirements, we were unable to eat much of the menu. Regardless, no sushi at a sushi restaurant, I think enough said. Made for an embarrassing Valentine's Day date.

    Way too expensive for what you get. Cocktails were good but in a tiny glass. Croquettes were not very appetizing, but short rib bao was awesome. Nigiri was pretty good, but doesn’t compete with the higher-end spots in the area in my opinion (granted we were a slightly later reservation on a busy day, but still). Ambiance was awesome though, sat in garden room and it was beautiful with all the plants, just slightly too dark for me - could barely read menu and I like to see my food clearly as I eat. Overall not worth the price for me.
