Lento is committed to providing unique and delicious dishes using food procured as much as possible from local, sustainable and organic purveyors. The word �Lento� is Italian for slow, and we have embraced the slow food movement. This means making everything from scratch, from food that was raised by sustainable and ecologically friendly practices. It means no artificial growth hormones, unnecessary antibiotics, or rendered animal by-products, and a sparing use of pesticides. There are no microwaves or steam tables in our kitchen and everything is cooked fresh to order. Our website lists most of our local providers. We are happy to promote local farmers on the menu so you know exactly where your food is coming from. We hope you enjoy your dining experience and are happy your dollars are staying in the local economy from farm to plate. Very short walk to the Rochester Auditorium. Close proximity to the Universirty of Rochester, RIT, St. John Fisher and Nazareth.

Went for a date here. I had a Salmon entree that was delicious. The entire dish was super fresh and put together very well. It hit home for flavor-town. Girlfriend had a Duck entree and though she enjoyed the sides, the Duck was served cold. It was obvious that her dish was completed first and was sitting idle while my entree was completed. Which is a bit upsetting considering it was just the two of us and both entrees were just over $30 each. That's where it lost some of the "value" for me. The bread was delicious, the appetizers were great as well. Overall the staff was great, but our server was boring and seemed in a hurry to be elsewhere (it wasn't busy, our reservation was later in the night). Honestly I would go there again, but I've been to similar places where it hit home for me in all categories so I can't justify 5 stars. :)

I really wanted to like Lento more than I did. The local farm-to-table concept is promising, the art on the walls was nice, and our server was lovely, but the execution wasn't quite there. We started with the fresh bread and dips- they gave us a tiny amount of the hummus (and probably 4-5 x as much butter), and the white bean garlic dip tasted really off- the complementary bread and olive oil other tables had looked much more appealing. My partner was disappointed by how salty the oysters were. I ordered the pork, which was super fatty and not all that flavorful- I made it through maybe 1/4 of the meat and packed up the rest to give to our dog. My partner's vegan curry was decent, but for the prices we were expected much better. The chocolate mousse was delicious though! All in all, a very expensive dinner for very mediocre food.

The food and service were outstanding. The duck confit was excellent, and the spaetzle and side vegetables were amazing. The service was non-intrusive and very efficient.

Start to finish - everything here was Fantastic! Our server was attentive and made excellent drink suggestions. The Winter Vegetable Curry was absolutely delicious and a perfect portion size so that there was still room for dessert :)

Everything was amazing. Fresh food, amazing service, delightful and creative menu options that change with the seasons. And of course be sure to have the oysters to start with one of their handcrafted cocktails. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Rochester!
