Our reservation was for 5:30 in order to make a theatre show at 7:30 pm. We arrived at, 5:20, the restaurant was open but our assigned section was not. We were asked to wait in a crowded hallway. Appetizers arrived on time and they were good. Our main courses took a very long time to arrive. We asked several times. We only had 10 minutes to eat our main courses. The food was cold and not tasty. Because of the theatre time, we had to rushed eat our main courses. No time for dessert or coffee. No apologies from anyone. We paid the bill and left. We are unlikely to revisit or recommend Lena in the future.
Service was incredibly slow but our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was underwhelming and too expensive. I wouldn’t recommend.
I always enjoy going to Lena, never disappoints. Service and food were good and the staff are Very good and friendly.
Service was pleasant, food was good but the noise level was incredibly irritating, totally distracting from the "dining" experience. Whatever happened to elegant dining??? And at this price point???
This was to be a special birthday dinner with a friend but we sat in silence because conversation was impossible in a civilized manner. Everyone around us was screaming!
ALSO the reservation was screwed up.....I sat upstairs for 30 minutes while my guest was seated downstairs for 30 minutes! Only after his persistent questioning was he led upstairs to my table.
On second thought, the food and "ambience" did not make up for the most unnerving evening!
It was a great experience, food was delicious and atmosphere was perfect. It was great for our date night, we will be back!
We were really disappointed with this place. The food was good (not great) but the service was atrocious! For a restaurant charging these prices, they need to bring their service to a better level. We aren't really picky, but received our drinks about ten minutes after receiving our appetizer, didn't ever receive something we ordered, waited with empty glasses and empty plates for at least 15 minutes before being offered a dessert menu, and were seated at a table that they obviously threw together and was not meant to be for dinner. Our plates and glasses did not fit and we had to keep trying to rearrange the table so we weren't knocking things off. Obviously a tourist trap. I have no idea why Toronto Life is listing this as one of the best.
Great place and the menu never disappoints. It is noisy.
Met a friend for a late lunch - both of us had the brisket burger which was delicious.
However, a family next to us chose to change their baby’s diaper at their table. There is plenty of room in the empty Lounge downstairs on you’re way to the WC. The server saw this and did not recommend any alternative for this family and their dirty diaper. Too bad....
Food was very good. Service was slow and unresponsive.
Amazing food. Every dish blew us away. Stayed for literally 2.5 hours like obnoxious people - it was my birthday though ;)
My friend had empanadas and the chicken soup. I had the arugula salad with chicken. The arugula seemed “old” but maybe because I am used to baby arugula. The empanadas were good. Waited a while for the cheque and then for the machine but our server was nice and gave advice when we asked his opinion.
Waiter was amazing. Meat was chewy but appetizers were great. Not value for dollars.
Our experience in Leña was excellent in every way. We were there for our anniversary and we were sitted in the main room. The food was delicious and the portions adequate. The service was spectacular, out waiter went all the way to make us feel welcome. We asked for our favorite cocktail (which is not on the menu) and he took the instructions and delivered flawlessly. We will definitely return.
Delicious dinner, wonderful service - great atmosphere! Will definitely be returning!
Took advantage of the $1 oysters with a the purchase of a bottle of wine. They were delicious as was the rest of our meal. Our server was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.
Such a great place!!! Food was better than Spain!
We started off in the “Street Level” part of the restaurant(bar)...the service was horrendously slow. Drinks seemed to take an eternity and we had to call the server over anytime we needed anything as he did not check in on us...we spoke to a wonderful gentleman (I believe he was of Indian ethnicity -I say this only to denote who he was and how amazing he was to us- thank you!!!!). He moved us to the restaurant and the service was fantastic-Exceptional and the food was great. Would not recommend street level Bar/Dining..
We had Kevin as a waiter for our first-time experience at Lena and he was absolutely incredible guide to our first dining experience. We highly recommend anyone setting up a reservation to ask for Kevin! Great food, cool atmosphere and very high quality service.
The four of us ha reservations for 6pm and food arrived at 7:40pm. Frites were cold but the steak was delicious. My roast chicken had dry awful breast meat while the thigh was moist.
The restaurant was lovely and iconic with 3 floors but the z out of the 4 plates of food were disappointing.
The food came out cold and was not worth the price tag in my opinion
Everything started off lovely. Food was delicious and everything we had was enjoyable. However; once we received our entrees we did not see our server for so long. We timed from when we finished our entree’s until when she came back and it was over half an hour. She finally came to clear our plates and I asked for the dessert menu, then she did not return. Another server noticed we were scanning the room for our server and he rang in our dessert for us and came to make sure we got the dessert and we enjoyed. Then we asked a third server for our bill and he cashed us out. The girl never returned but she was in the room serving two other tables. I’ve been in the service industry for 7 years and I am pretty reasonable and understanding when it comes to being busy etc while serving but she was just standing around and tending to the couple other tables. It was so frustrating! I’m not sure if our table was forgotten, ignored or passed along but there was no communication regarding it and we were both so over it. It was our first time at Leña, and while I’d love to say I would return I don’t think I would.
We appreciate your hostess effort to sit us all; in fact, my friend and myself arrived at 7 PM and a couple of friends one hour latter. Tables, meals and drinks were arranged for everybody on due time.
I was charged with finding a restaurant within walking distance from the Sheraton Centre that had options for a diverse group of business colleagues. Lena checked every box. The location is convenient, the room was beautiful and the menu options were inventive and delicious. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. The carnivores in the crowd raved about the lamb, steak and brisket burger. The cannelloni and fusilli were also big hits. The Ecuadorian president of the company was impressed by the authenticity of the empanadas and yucca fries. He was regaling us with stories about the feasts he enjoyed while growing up in South America. The prices are reasonable considering the portion size and quality of the food. Thank you Lena for a successful meal and making me look good in front of management!
Great spot. Will go again
Our seating/table was such that we both faced the same direction, making conversation a challenge. We could only hear the couple seated a the table in front of us, and the large group to the left. Very noisy place, not including the kitchen staff. Waiter took 30+ mins to attend to our table, and another 15 to bring us our drinks. Portions were adequate.
Great ambiance, decor is lovely and trendy so it’s a nice space to try out. Service was wonderful. Food wasn’t anything spectacular but was decent - I had the salmon, it was relatively bland, really only tasted the citrus. My partner tried the steak and liked it. Portion sizes were good, could’ve been a bit bigger.
Love all the great apps. Fantastic wine selection, and servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list.
Gorgeous Art Deco decor. Wonderful, warm and welcoming service.
The yucca fries are delicious and the churros are a meal on their own.
Noise level makes for challenging conversation.
Off their game. Maitre'd could not locate reservations. Wait staff seemed overwhelmed. Person who brought us the drinks did not know which ones he brought. Too much salt. Second round of drinks finally arrived after we received our check.
VOGES IS IN TOWN
Food was ok. Should be better for the price. Coffee was bitter. Service was good. Overall, there are lots of better options for breakfast.
I shared an appetizer and had a main entree. No alcohol, no dessert and one americano for $65.00 dlls. The options for tipping start at 20%.
A little pricey, I think. Would go back but I will have to save my pennies.
Wasn’t really an Argentinian / SA menu.
This was my second time for lunch at Lena's... memories of an impressive menu and ambience from the first time inspired me to take a friend who had not been before, and she loved it too. We would have preferred to have been seated downstairs (love all the art deco glass, and floor and wall decoration), but our table was assigned to us upstairs and as the place is soooooooo busy at lunch time, we were not able to change. No natural light upstairs and the noise level was high, making it hard to maintain a lower decibel conversation between us who had not seen each other for a while! However, the service was impeccable and our server was appropriately attentive, allowing us lots of time to chat and catch up. Food was delicious with perfect portion sizes.
We didn’t see our server much nor did he seem very thrilled to be waiting our table. However the atmosy, the food and the aesthetics were amazing. I’ll definitely come back
We went to try the Taste of Iceland experience and it was amazing! Our server was impeccable and very friendly, the four courses were beautifully executed and paired with such great wines...will be back to try the regular menu as well! Highly recommended, one of my new favourite places in the city.
Excellent food and the place is beautiful. But the service was very slow. It took too long for the
Food to come.
"The Taste of Iceland" special event was great and the food was excellent. Being in the basement bar was terrible and we did not like that! Don't know how there food would be. But I would not go back.
We did the taste of Iceland and wine pairing which was expensive for what we got .
The wines did not come on time and we had to ask twice for the pairing.
The main dish was lamb which was very tender but really had no flavor . I haven’t been to Iceland but I hope their food has more flavor then we experienced here.
The langoustine dish was the best with bursts of flavor and different textures.
