The menu features traditional iconic Vietnamese and Thai dishes such as cha gio or spring rolls with lettuce and fresh herbs, salad rolls, Pad Thai, Thai Seafood Curry, Lemongrass Pork and Saigon Crepe just to name a few. Weekend specials include savory, smoky Lamb Chops, Korean BBQ Steak, Pan Seared Lemongrass Ahi Tuna and Paella. Desserts are equally enticing -- from Chocolate Orange Cake to the signature Chunky Ginger Ice Cream and when in seasonal, Mango with S
Lemon Grass prepares the best Pad Thai around. I miss Lemon Grass Cafe where I would always order the Pad Thai in a more casual setting.
Lemon Grass consistently provides a delicious, flavor-filled dining experience. During our recent visit we enjoyed the chicken dumplings small plate with our pre-dinner cocktails. They were beautifully presented and served with a delicious, complex sauce. Our amazing waiter warned us that the sauce would give our lips a slight tingle which was smart. Tingle or not, they were fantastic. My husband had the stir-fried vegetables with noodles for his main course and said they were quite tasty. Our son ordered the Korean beef and absolutely raved about it. And I ordered an old favorite, Shaking Tofu. It is always a treat! For dessert I ordered my all time favorite — ginger ice cream — and loved every bite! All in all, a wonderful evening. We truly appreciate the quiet, relaxed ambience, absolutely excellent service, and delicious meals that we know we can always count on at Lemon Grass.
We took out-of-state friends here for lunch, and they were overwhelmed by the quality of the food. One friend is a talented home chef, and he raved about the warm beef over cool noodles--our all-time favorite. Our other friend has pho and was just as happy with her dish. For dessert we had the Valrhona chocolate ice cream--sinfully delicious. We can't wait to return to Lemon Grass.
Had a spring roll appetizer while waiting for one of our party of three to arrive, followed by a tureen of Thai soup which was xlnt. We then split Pad Thai and chicken main courses. The waitress was very accommodating in adjusting delivery of the various dishes to make our dining experience come out right.
Thank you and we appreciate the positive feedback Jim!
Food was very flavorful. Really exceptional. Service was friendly and welcoming.
Lemon Grass is one of my favorite restaurants. We were there with out-of-town family who have been to LG before with us.
Cons of this visit: A beer on the menu was sold out. Our guest ordered a different one, but the bar server brought the wrong type. Food was high quality and well presented, but my dish (beef w/noodles) was remarkably bland. I had ordered it spicy, but it wasn't. Server brought me (at my request) hot chile sauce and sliced Thai pepper, which helped a lot.
Pros: Our server had been serving only one week, and he did an excellent job! Quiet ambiance is great for table conversation. Ginger ice cream absolutely delicious, as always.
A favorite spot for lunch , especially if you like their crispy spring rolls as much as I do. We were still chatting after 2pm and no one was in a hurry for us to leave.
Lemon Grass is always a wonderful place to dine. Friendly people, relaxing atmosphere and always great food. A Sacramento favorite for many years.
I had stopped visiting this restaurant only because there are so many choices in Sacramento. A few months ago a friend suggested it for lunch. I have been coming every month for five months as a result. I love it. The food is great. On tuesdays there is a special crepe that I particularly enjoy. But I eat the curries and the spring rolls. The service is excellent! And we can hear ourselves talk. Highly recommend it!!
Thank you so much for your comments! We're very passionate about our cuisine and our staff is dedicated to providing every guest with an enjoyable experience and delicious meal. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Best spring rolls I've ever had. The pork medallions were delicious, and so was the cocoanut ice cream.
Great food, ambiance and service!
Always an enjoyable experience. Creative flavorful Asian dishes presented with flair. Attentive service in an attractive setting. A wonderful neighborhood addition.
Lemon Grass became my daughter’s favorite restaurant when she was my granddaughter’s age (9). We celebrated her graduations and birthdays there and even ordered take-out for her wedding shower. Decades later, it provides a predictably delightful experience.
Great restaurant with several experienced servers who can advise about the menu. English has been an issue in our last two visits, as our servers were obviously still emerging as English speakers and we didn’t recognize them from previous visits. I’m completely supportive of hiring servers who are from other countries and who are acquiring English but it takes time and patience on both ends. Our entrees were completely wrong last night, though the server apologized and immediately took steps to correct his error. This slowed our dinner, but he was very nice, though clearly flummoxed. We hoped he didn’t get in any trouble.
Great food and service, loved the menu.
Very uninspired food. Not at all like it used to be ... Maybe just an "off" night for the kitchen??
Service was significantly decreased. Brought a guest from out of town and we were not happy. Good food still but plates left on tables, silverware missing after plates removed, very slow server to approach table...
Takeout is best.
We eat at Lemon Grass every chance we get. Some years ago we celebrated our 50th anniversary here with a dinner for ten friends, and last week we returned--once again--to celebrate our 57th. Couldn't find a better place. The food, especially the beef with cold noodles (we have a hard time ordering anything else), is outstanding. Service is very good, and the atmosphere is calm. The Thai iced tea is excellent. Lemon Grass is our go-to restaurant for any occasion.
I have come to expect over the years the imaginative food, friendly great service, and comfomfortale ambience from the Lemon Grass (LG). It never disappoints.
LG is easily one of the great Sacramento restaurants...and has been for years. Unfortunately, local critics seldom rank this destination (Asian infusion) restaurant among the best. Because Lemon Grass and it's owner & cook book author, Mai, and regular floor mgr & host, Kate, deserve five star attention from the community.
Vietnamese, Tai, French, & yes, American, cuisines are all creatively infused in every dish on the menu (regular and vegetarian). A 'Very Smart' and affordable wine list also awaits the discretionary diner. Which makes pairing the intricate recipes, dishes that come from the kitchen even more fun.
Superb restaurant...Can't wait to return. DRS
This is my “ go to” place for celebrations and special occasions. The food is always wonderful and I like the ambiance of the restaurant.
