   One of the best meals I've had in NYC! Food and vibe were both top notch. My husband and I came for our anniversary and got to talk with the owner and chef for a long time. We got a great amount of delicious food for the price/neighborhood. A true gem!

   Really really good. The food is always consistently remarkable and the service is outstanding. My suggestion is to try everything, maybe not at once, but do it. Oh, the spicy margarita was a hit at our table.

   I had the opportunity to meet the daughter of a very dear friend. She goes to college in New York. She absolutely adored everything that she ate and I think she has grown up with a lot of opportunity but she swooned over the quality of the food and the seasonings so I was really delighted to be able to share Leitao with her since I really think it’s a wonderful restaurant myself.

    Everything was really good. Since it was a Portuguese menu I have no idea what I ordered. Friends visited Portugal and sort of guided me. But I would definitely go back!!

    While we enjoyed the food (pulpo salad, bacalao, beef sandwich), the service can only be described as indifferent. We were seated at a table that was directly next to the door that led to the basement kitchen and every time they came and went the door SLAMMED shut. It was infuriating! They could have very easily seated us at a table not directly adjacent to this annoying door but they didn’t. Food took a very long time even though there was only one other occupied table inside and we were ignored during this time. Never asked if we wanted another drink or how the food was. It just seemed very amateurish. I also put in the reservation That it was a friend’s birthday and they ignored it. It wasn’t a big deal but had they remembered it would have maybe made up for the other failings. Oh well.

    Overall food and drinks were good. I don’t recommend dining downstairs at all though. We got sat as the only ones down there and had to keep moving as there were multiple cockroaches crawling around the walls and floor.

    Excellent and exceptional Portuguese cuisine! The drink list is outstanding! We were greeted with a super friendly receptionist who quickly sat us in an outdoor table. The staff was attentive and helpful on explaining the dishes and drinks. They always checked with us on what we needed. We highly recommend Leitao for any occasions.

    I absolutely love Leitao! Amazing service always, delicious cocktails and great vibes and atmosphere! My favourite place for a spontaneous cocktail, where I’m always welcomed like an old friend. Love it!!!

    The ambience was good but every food item was too salty or over seasoned , of the three plates that came to our table all three were salty , also I ordered the rack of lamb ( not cheap by the way) and I got three pieces how is this a rack ? At least service was good

    Quiet and good service. Slow for the food to arrive. We had an 8pm reservation, but by the time we arrived there was no more non alcoholic drinks besides ginger ale, which affected a lot of people in our group.
