Leilani's on the Beach - Kaanapali
Great “ last night in Lahaina “ dinner. Service was excellent, delicious fresh seafood.
Quite a wait to receive water and also our meals and restaurant was not completely full at the time. Food was still excellent as usual (we go to Leilani’s every year in Maui) but the waits were definitely something new. We weren’t even reassured that our food was on its way.
The Parmesan crusted fish was excellent. The mai tais are wonderful
Everything was great. Our waiter Kevin was way to sweaty and way too animated for our taste but everything else was great.
Traveling with four other senior couples. Table for ten. Amazing view great food. Best meal in Maui. Our favorite restaurant on Maui. Others had not been there before. Thanks Derek for a wonderful evening.
Service was great, food was very good, customers on each side of us were very friendly (Aloha spirit), and most spectacular sunset ever!
We came specifically to try the Hula Pie and Lilikoi pie. Both were delicious, especially the Hula pie.
My favorite spot in Maui. Outstanding service and fantastic food. There was no hesitation to honor special requests and they even provided a free dessert when they learned it was my mother in laws birthday. I returned multiple times and they never let me down.
Great Food and perfect service. Would dine here again.
The service was slow. Our food was not cooked properly so we had to send it back.
Food was fine, our 3rd visit there. Our waitress could not handle our drink orders properly.the initial order was delivered late stating some issue with the bar. My second order never arrived!
The food was delicious and our waiter, Kayla was fantastic!
It was nice. Pricy, our waiter was nice enough, we mentioned it was our actual anniversary and he congratulated us, but nothing else. He seemed more interested in other couples that looked like big spenders compared to us. We did drinks, appetizer, seafood pot and parmesan crusted catch of the day, glasses of wine, plus dessert. Try the more casual grill below, first come first serve tho. You can still see the sunset
Have had great experiences in the past here but this time was different. Really rushed to get us to order and then the food was pushed on us. They’re in a hurry to turn the tables at this place. Don’t plan on a relaxing meal here
Excellent service. Went above and beyond!
Our favorite stop on the island! We enjoyed ordering from the chefs tasting menu. The portions are perfect for light appetites. The selection of appetizer’s, entree’s and dessert’s on the tasting menu gave us a delightful variety of flavors, what a great way to preview a taste of paradise. All of the dishes were thoughtfully prepared and delicious.
It was good except the food portions were small.
Hostesses not very friendly nor looking happy to be there. Not very welcoming
Our service was amazing, she checked in on us all night. The drinks are delicious even though they may be on the weaker side. I got the hot pot which was tomato based and very good although the lobster was over cooked. The view is amazing we were able to catch the sunset there.
Gorgeous views. Fun bar to kill time before dinner. All good.
The food and service were awesome!!!
This is our go to restaurant on our last evening in Maui always. It is a tradition. We were a party if six and our server Charles was fantastic. You cant beat the food, service, and ambiance. You cant go wrong.
Amazing experience. Only qualm is that I requested a sunset view seat. Made my reservation 40 days in advance, confirmed reservation 24 hours prior and was still asked to wait for 30 mins for a sunset view seat.
All in all an amazing restaurant
Not great ok - Very Hot - Food was a miss - Service was a hit
Had a good food and good time
Tried 3 different fish main courses. All were superb! Yummy!!
We heard all the raves of Leilani’s and thought we should celebrate my birthday there since we are vacationing in Maui. The whole experience was a disappointment. I requested for a table overlooking the sea but was told they’re all booked and would take a 45 min wait, so we took whatever was given to us, although we noticed there is one empty table there. Halfway through our meals, there are 3 more empty tables, making a total of 4.
The food was mediocre and overrated. Our starters (roasted beets salad and prosciutto shrimps) were unappealing and diner style. The salmon entree sat on top of a noodle-coleslaw that was drowned in a salty sauce. The prime rib was tough (medium rare) and didn’t come with any au jus. We had to ask for it. Mashed potato was dry and the vegetables were boring. Upside is we were given a complimentary ice cream dessert.
Although we have not tried Hulu Grill (next door) we loved the one on Waikiki and is a far cry from Leilani’s. This is probably our first and last for Leilani’s.
Nothing special about our special occasion.
One night left in Maui. Made open table reservation over a month ago. Told them we were celebrating a return honeymoon 33 years ago.
Now when we walked in they said “sit over there and we’ll get you”
Then they called our name and said “happy anniversary” which at least guaranteed us we didn’t get the WORST table in the restaurant just the second worst. We felt safe at 6:00 pm and letting them know many weeks in advance that they would give us some of that famous sunset.
Our waitress...actually said “do you think you’re going to want fish? So I can tell you about it if you want me to?” We ordered a hula pie thinking they might give us a candle or something. No. But she actually dropped the bill before we got our dessert and came looking for my card before I was even done with dessert. Are they that desperate to turn the tables?
All week, the only place we felt hot was in this restaurant tonight.
Frankly our meals were good. It was the rest of the experience that make me say “why take a risk here?” Don’t waste a night of yours here.
Our food was delicious and our waitress was Excellent. Just maybe our cocktails could have been a little stronger as we couldn’t really taste the Alcohol in them
In short, Leilani’s provided my husband and I with the best meal during our honeymoon. The staff was welcoming, the ambiance and location were beautiful. The real star was the AMAZING food! We started with the crab cakes, then had the ahi tuna steak and hot pot. Exceptional!
Sunset was very nice
My husband were there to celebrate our 20th Anniversary during the sunset at Leilani’s. Although our server was great, the food was terrible. Our Hawaiian sweet bread was dried out and hard in some places. Our Prime Rib was supposed to be medium-rare and it ended up medium-well. Prime rib is supposed to be tender and red when medium-rare. It was very difficult to cut and way over cooked. The broccolini was over cooked as well with no seasoning or flavor and the mashed potatoes were almost non-existent...maybe 2 Tablespoons worth. Overall, it was a very disappointing dinner. I expected much more based upon others’ reviews.
Our anniversary dinner at Leilani’s made the occasion close to perfect.
The server was so friendly and went out of his way to accommodate dietary restrictions. Other waitstaff were very kind and patient with our kids. The view of the ocean was beautiful; the food was delicious; and it was a great way to celebrate a birthday!
Great service from Brad!
So great! We came to Leilani’s our last night in Maui. We have a vegan, a vegetarian, a carnivore and a couple in-between and everyone was more than satisfied. Relaxed atmosphere with delicious food. Definitely recommend it!
Beautiful location and setting with fabulous ocean front views. Best to make reservation in advance for just before sunset. Food was exceptional - We shared a Maui Fresh salad, had lobster tail and sirloin dinner entres and all was delish! Topped off with their Yummy Signature Famous Hula Pie!
Great table, excellent service
We went to Leilani’s for our 25th anniversary and it was amazing. Our waiter wasn’t very attentive (didn’t even ask if everything was ok during our meal) but the rest of the staff was great!! The food was outstanding and we will go back for sure!
We always dine at Leilani on the Beach the last evening before our flight home. The food and spirits are authentic island cuisine. Situated on the beach allows for ocean breezes to wrap you in the Aloha spirit.
That being said we were very disappointed by those who seated the customers. We had a reservation yet were seated in the back even though a table with a front ocean view was open. A younger walk up couple was given that table. I guess senior citizens are not preferred for the preferred views.
