The food, drinks and service were outstanding. Our table overlooked the beach and they raised the blinds electronically as the sun set. Gorgeous view! I’d highly recommend the Argentine Malbec to accompany the fillet mignon. :)

I have a table and a nice location upstairs, didn’t realize they had different menus for upstairs and downstairs, thought we would be getting stuff that was probably on downstairs menu. Still food was very good, but no bread service which surprised us I also was a little unhappy that my prime rib that I asked for medium was actually well done. Cocktails were excellent. I was also unhappy that her server was not very friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day?

The food was great. The service left something to be desired. We arrived 5 minutes early for our 6:00 reservation. We were directed to sit on a bench and wait for our name to be called. After 20 minutes it seemed like we had been forgotten so I went up to ask the hostess how much longer we would have to wait. Clearly annoyed at my request, she first told me it would be over an hour. When I explained we weren’t walk in customers and had a reservation, she snapped at me, “Yeah I’m waiting for a table to clear.” Once we were finally seated the food was great. But at this price point I feel I shouldn’t have to endure snippy staff and wait over 30 minutes to get a beer. There are lots of other great restaurants in the area so we probably won’t return.

Portions were very big and neither my husband nor I could finish our dinners. It was a shame we couldn’t bring the leftovers with us but we are flying home tomorrow. My pasta could have had more flavor but was good. We were celebrating my birthday and birth of our third grandchild and although the waitress acknowledged my birthday, it was a little disappointing that some sort of complimentary dessert wasn’t offered like most other restaurants do. Other than that, it was a pleasant evening and we would return.

We were seated next to a window that had great views of the ocean. Our server Holly was helpful with the menu and drinks. She greeted us right away asked if we had any questions then gave us a few minutes to look at the menu. Her service was quick and friendly. I had the steak and lobster. The lobster was fabulous however the steak was okay. But I am a steak snob. It was cooked perfectly medium but wasn’t melt in your mouth good. My husband had the fish potatoes and vegetables. He was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted as he was having a lot of fish in the last week. :)

Great atmosphere and great service. It was really rainy so the shields were up but we were protected from the elements so we didn’t have to cancel. We went towards the end of the evening and had a great waiter who was very attentive. I had the seafood hotpot. Highly recommend. Our party of four all had very good food. The hula pie is a must!

Unfortunately it was a very overcast rainy day so there was no sunset to be seen. The Green salad was very good , but my main Pecan encrusted Mahi Mahi was very average and the vegetable side was limp and wet. The shrimp pasta was fairly good. Overall I would say this is an overpriced venue which rides on its sunset views. I think there are better options available.

My husband and I had previously been to Leilani’s 25 years ago when we last traveled to Maui and had fond memories. We returned in Jan. ‘23, and found the restaurant had been greatly remodeled (if not rebuilt). It’s still a nice venue and location, but we were seated at rear of dining room right by the wheelchair-accessible elevator.. not ideal. My husband had the Seafood Pot, which he described as “okay” with an appetizer of coconut shrimp, which were large and good. I had the Sesame-crusted Ahi with a Poke salad (both delicious). Maybe it’s not a common practice in Hawaii, but we would have enjoyed some nice bread or rolls with the dinner. Service was excellent.

Went out for a romantic evening but on a rainy day. Even do, at sunset it was beautiful, an ideal place for amazing fish (had the ahi and also Hawaiian swordfish ?Ahu). It could not have been better. Attentive staff was great; not overbearing. Relaxing time. Great ambience and great food.

The setting is beautiful but the restaurant does not match. From the hurry up and wait front desk to the 30 minute wait for anything but water the experience was disappointing. It is Hawaii but even then the prices were expensive for mediocre meals. And they hope you spend all your time looking at the ocean so you don’t notice the posh ‘80s Devore and furnishings.

Was 8 minutes late and they cancelled my reservation. Standard restaurant procedure is a 15 grace period. Did it through open table and no mention of the policy. Finally got seated after the rude hostess explained there policy. Ordered Vue they were out, ordered Prime Rib medium rare Texas style came out medium waitress was great and took it back. She came back and said they couldn’t make it Texas style medium rare so I got the regular prime rib. A middle to a Low end place like Outback with a nice location that’s it.

Beautiful restaurant on the beach with reasonably priced food (for Maui!), great service and stunning sunset views. The ceviche was delicious as were the fresh fish dishes and hula pie.

We liked it so much we went back the next day at a later time, past the time we usually eat just to get in, and had two more fish dishes that we didn't have the first time.

Excellent entree choices Everything we had was perfectly prepared. We were seated exactly on time at a great table! A lot of tourists waiting to be seated was nice to have a reservation. From apps to deserts everything was prepared to our liking. Service was excellent also, great eve. Will definitely return again!

Food was excellent; exceeded our expectations! Our waitress was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant and area. Very engaging personality. I don’t recall her name ( she was pregnant). A real asset to the Lelanies restaurant.

My family of five adults visited this restaurant for a second time in our seven day vacation because the food, service, and ambience is superb. The service today was from Marissa, and she was very pleasant and attentive to our needs. She helped contribute to our enjoyable meal at Leilani’s on the beach. The appetizers that we enjoyed on both trips were the calamari strips, Korean pork ribs, and the coconut shrimp. These were all superb for a second time. The calamari is excellent because it is strips of calamari steak. The Korean pork ribs are very tender and tasty. The sauce with the coconut shrimp is so delicious! By far, the biggest hit of the entrées was the sesame crusted Ahi steak because the tuna was tender and delicious, especially with a very tasty shiitake soy butter. The Tristan lobster tails were also very succulent and delicious. The Parmesan crusted mahi mahi was also a favorite of our group. It was also pleasant to be seated on the second floor overlooking the ocean while we enjoyed our meal. This is a great restaurant, so don’t miss it!

Let's start off with the good - location and views for your meal - wonderful. We could have had an off night here - hence why I would still recommend it. We had an early dinner booked - had a great table location right on the railing - ocean view. The bar and support staff were fantastic. Our robot waiter we saw all of three times, order a drink, our meal order, and the bill. My sparking wine (champ) came chilled but flat, and my guest's mai tai was underwhelming. Ok - that is not earth-shattering, so we drank them and did not order any more booze. The meal - my guest had the crab cakes - she said was not so great. I had the prime rib, which came out warm to cool - that did not bother me as much as how tough it was, considering I was med-rare. So it was ok. There are many other things on the menu to choose from - I would suggest those over the meat! Happy Dining.

Get there before our reservation and told the hostess we were going to walk around till they were ready. Got seated in the rail. Waitress was prompt and friendly, let us know what fish they were running out of, and took our drink orders. Drinks were great. All the food was wonderful. Service was always nearby and timely. Definitely a great night!

Was put near the kitchen. Others complained and got sunset seating - sorry we didn’t too. Pasta was bland. Fish amazing.
