It was all very good. Not your francize flavor! The menu was overwhelming with choices. The offerings were not described, other than by symbols for spicy, vegetarian, or favorite. The server was not able to describe them either. I enjoyed my dish, but limited my self to a selection I knew. I would have loved to explore more.
Mindboggling menu. So many choices! Food was delicious and the space is very nice.
Some of the best authentic Sezchuan food in Minneapolis
We ordered an appetizer and 10 minutes later ordered our entrees. The appetizer showed up the same time as my wife's meal. I thought my meal was taking longer to cook but after 20 minutes I asked where my meal was and I got a oh so sorry no talk of a comp just sorry. As far as portions I think they were stingy for the price.
Delicious!!
Great food
Disorganized and slow service
Table immediately available; food hot and fresh, really nice servers. Best Chinese food I’ve had in Minneapolis
This was my second visit. This is a wonderful restaurant to bring a group, or even just a couple. The food is fabulous and I am told authentic (I wouldn't know). The prices are very reasonable, portions are substantial, and the staff is so friendly and personable. It feels like they knew you all along and are happy to see you back. Parking was easy and there was no problem getting in. Overall a great place to eat.
Awesome food and service. Daily special $3.99 is value!!
Legendary Spice was excellent as always. We love these guys.
Service was excellent. Extremely wide range of authentic entree options. I played it safe and ordered Mongolian beef (very good). My husband was more adventurous - he ordered a chile chicken entree. He thought it was very salty (Perhaps that's the way it was intended). Anyway it was a fun new restaurant. Use the free parking garage - otherwise you will be circling the block unnecessarily.
The food was kind of salty and also cold. The soup was cold as well and it is the first time I feel disappointed eating at Legendary Spice.
I w as introduced to this restaurant by a friend from Mainland China. She said it was the closest to authentic Chinese food that she has found in Minneapolis. This time I brought two friends who had never eaten at Legendary Spice before. We all agreed the food was superb and the service was outstanding! I will be back often...
They were great accommodating a large group at the last minute
Our 2nd time eating here. Great service, good food, reasonable priced. First time it would have been helpful to know the dishes are so large you can order 1 for 2 people and do alot of sharing in a group. Everything was served hot and delicious both times. Will return!
not terrible , it was edible.....left overs gave us the runs.
Excellent, authentic szechuan food. Their $10 lunch combo menu includes choice of soup, appetizer and many excellent entrees, and servings are generous!
For a small place, their menu is overwhelmingly large with tons of items with variations depending on the category of choice such as chicken, beef, seafood, vegetables, tofu, or pork.
The flavors is the different dishes brought back memories of when I was studying abroad in the province of Sichuan and remembering the language was so nice. I miss being in China. I had forgotten how spicy the the food can get but not all dishes and made with spicy peppers. Our group ordered a few dishes to try: spicy cabbage (shredded) and toss in spicy pepper sauce; spicy fish was smothered with spicy peppers; spicy seafood soup is a little like tom yum soup; hollow vegetable saute in garlic sauce is my favorite and it reminds me of my family's simple meals and how grateful I am to have my life; sole fish in ma po tofu sauce was more like ma po tofu with lighted fried chunks of fish mixed in; general Tao's tofu was ok and it tasted like my ma po tofu sauce but thicker; beef noodles soup looked great, black pepper tenderloins in onions looked good and my nephew liked it. Overall the food was quite spicy and after awhile they all tasted the same since our mouths were all numb from the spicyness of the food that we had to asked for more rice to help with take the spicy away.
The food is good. The service could be up a notch. After taking our orders and the food came out, our server hardly stopped by to ask if we need anything else. When we told need something we had to flagged him down or ask another wait staff to get what we needed. If you come with a big group the tips are included in your bill even if paying separately. It's nice that they allow separate tabs.
Good Chinese food, we have dined here since they opened last year. Too bad they raised the prices already.
I believe they might of out priced themselves fir the campus market!
Turns out the restaurant had been booked out on the date of our reservation. Certainly would’ve been nice to know before we showed up.
Excellent food, excellent experience!
spendy compare to other She Chuan restaurant around town. Good is ok.
We went on Sunday for a quick lunch birthday celebration before helping my older son's move in to U of M dorm. There is free indoor parking for retail and restaurant thru a garage. We came a little before 3pm so it was quiet. Got lucky that they were still have Sunday Dimsum small plate offered until 3pm. So we can order small portion of some dimsum and try them out. Service is great and attentive. Our server is also student of U of M. We ordered the hushao beef noodle soup which is decent portion and good. Also dumplings and several small plates. At the end, we were also given four complementary mini cheesecakes for our birthdays. Overall, we had a great experience.
