The $1 oyster offer had tiny oysters which were not cleaned well
Food was good. However expensive for portion size. Restaurant is a la carte.
Great and accommodating service. Food was delicious, great value.
Great mac and cheese
Very expensive for small portions
Pretty place but won’t be back because I don’t think the salmon dish was worth the price not the Brussels sprouts ... I dine out frequently so was disappointed in cost
The seafood tower is a MUST!
The atmosphere was great and the food was even better. I would highly recommend this eatery to anyone who is a seafood lover!!
Food was great.....service wonderful too.....celebrating two birthdays. Thank you Legssea and Justin for a great experience!
We enjoy eating at Legasea. It’s especially nice for a special occasion, and the service is generally very good. On Friday when we were there, the food was delicious and served well, and there our wait person was a little bit less attentive than we’d hoped. It was also pretty loud. Altogether, a fine experience and we’ll be back!
Wonderfully spacious restaurant with a misleadingly modest front door. Great food and delightful service
Food was very good, but pricy. Noise level makes it difficult to carry on conversations!
Good atmosphere and setting. It was a business luncheon and we had the fixed prix fixe menu which was well balanced. I had the mussels appetizer and it was excellent. It was quiet which is essential for a business meeting and the tables well spaced. Only negative was the lack of a cloakroom or place to put heavy coats in winter.
I had an amazing meal and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I plan to return return very soon.
My second visit and this by far was the best. Dining with family and not during restaurant week makes the difference. My sis had maole bourbon pecan ice cream for dessert and a divine lost treasure it was for her.
I had the lobster bake for two which included clams muscles scallops corn and potatoes it was delicious.
Food was more than enough!
I loved everything we ordered. Delicious!
And friendly staff.
Food here is top notch. Have been here a few times now and food always seems to be on point. The prefix lunch is the best in the area at only $29 for a 3 course.
The Tuna Tatar I would say is the best thing on the menu.
we found our waitress quite rude and inattentive but the quality of the food was amazing.
The food was not great at this price point. The cod in the cod and chips was tasteless. Truly tasteless.
Very good service. Scallops seared but had a burnt taste to them , spinach very salty. Clams casino and flounder were delicious!
I love the cauliflower gnocchi!
too noisy and huge not sure where to walk. the food was excellent but too much activity all over the floor.
Grabbed a quick meal here after meeting my son at Penn Station. This is a very good option for the Penn Area. Staff was friendly and attentive and food was good. Menu is a bit limited but wide ranging enough so that most will find something to eat. The octopus app was very good as was the chicken francaise but it was a bit different, being in a cream based sauce rather than straight butter and wine.
The place/ambiance was not bad - the food was mediocre and very expensive. Our waitress was extremely nice and attentive though
Our server was accommodating knowledgeable and friendly and the food and drink were very good. This is not the best restaurant in NY but it is the best one I have found convenient to MSG.
Nice space and great service. Food was good and plenty options for drinks. Definitely would give it a try.
serving size for fixed menu was small, but might just be that i was hungry.
The salmon and the scallop entrees were great. The appetizers were a little off. The charred broccoli side was delicious. We liked the decor and style of the restaurant.
Food and service was excellent. Noise level was loud but nothing overwhelming. Nice place. I would come back again.
We had a horrible experience. Worse than some mediocre restaurant. The fish was horrible and lacked flavor. Same for the fried chicken. KFC can make better chicken than this. It was so dry and unflavorful. We asked for some ketchup for our fries 3 times and it arrived once we were done with our meal. The worst part was that we went to celebrate a birthday and found a long black hair cooked into the birthday cake as I ate a spoonful. Horrible horrible HORRIBLE. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
Waiter consistently forgot about us.
Everything was great till the entree arrived. We ordered the Great Big Lobster Bake. The broth was flavorless. The clams were not cleaned properly. There was still sand in my dish
This was amazing, we loved the place & the food
It was excellent
The best Caesar Salad Ever
Their Full Branzino was nice and tender and the seafood pasta was on point... everything was lemony and very well appointed.
From start to finish, my table felt rushed by the waitstaff. It does not make a pleasant experience when the moment we have picked up our last oyster, with oyster in hand, the staff is asking if they can clear the plates away. We received the menus and could barely open the page before being asked if we were ready to order. At one point I asked if they would resist coming to our table for a solid five minutes while we chewed. The food was okay, I had the Black Shell Diavola, my mom ordered the Chatham Cod Fish n’ Chips, my sister ordered the Diver Sea Scallops with Brussels Sprouts and Mac & Cheese. We had a dozen oysters (super tiny) and the Spicy Crab Beignets. The spice is almost nonexistent in their dishes. The drinks were tasty.
Bachelorette party lunch
Great food. Love this place for team dinners
Food and service was excellent. The only thing I wish was if the music wasn’t too loud. Was totally hard to talk.
Fun atmosphere, good menu with variety outside of seafood, but a bit noisy and waitstaff a bit slow (and sometimes forget your table).
Food was excellent.
Service was outstanding.
Location was good.
Noise level was extreme!
We made a reservations at Legasea, for our party of 4, based on an article we’d read which highly recommended the restaurant. Based on our experience this recommendations was well off the mark.
The most significant reason to not eat at Legasea is the noise emanating from the HVAC system that serves the dinning room. We arrived for dinner at 6:45 PM for our 7:00 PM dinner and were seated at a table located at the end of the dinning room closest to host stand. Once seated it was apparent that the level and frequency of the background noise coming from above the ceiling was going to be a significant problem. We asked if it was going to be remedied and were told that they had been aware of it for some time but it was a building issue that had been ongoing and there was no way for them to deal with it. They offered to relocate us to a table as far away from the noisy HVAC equipment as possible, which we did. It was better, but not fully resolved. We watched as many other groups that were seated after us all ended up being moved as well. I would not recommend anyone go to this restaurant until this noise problem is fully resolved.
The service was good and attentive to our needs. The food however was average at best.
We will not be returning to Legasea given all the other restaurant of much higher quality in the immediate area.
