Food and service were terrific! Lots of great choices for entrees and appetizers, the seafood paella was delicious! And of course the chowder was fantastic!!
Good food experience, but very noisy.
Service was outstanding
Great place for a special night out. Great food and decent service. Lots to choose from (food and drink).
Had a delicious meal with out-of-town guests. We were seated promptly at a high top for 6. The server provided a brief overview of the history of Legal Seafood and the Test Kitchen. My grilled salmon was cooked perfectly (medium) and was moist without being raw in the middle. The baked cod and seafood wok special were also tasty, according to our guests. Our server was charming, friendly, and prompt (without rushing us).
We had the best experience on Friday night and I wish I remembered my servers name to give her a shout out. She continuously checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Also brought out a slice of cake for one of us for a birthday. We will be back especially for the service and quality of food! I had requested a specific table by the windows on my OpenTable request and even that specific need was met!
Excellent dinner! Waiter was helpful and attentive. Food was delicious.
Quickly taken to my seat, drinks and order taken fast. Drinks, apps and food all arrived in a quick amount of time.
Server checked in regularly, making a great night.
After dinner, stopped for a drink at bar and this place is happening!
Good variety. Seafood was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable.
We had dinner here while in town for business. Had to have seafood when in Boston.
The meal started slowly as the waiter had trouble locating the correct bottle of wine - twice. But after that all went well and the meal was very good.
Would recommend and go again.
Decent selections. Miss the edamame but the peppers were a nice change.
No complaints. Food was great. Server was excellent, though perhaps a bit too quick as far as asking us if we were finished with things. Manager came over and chatted. Not a very busy time of day. Glad we went.
I first tried to book a reservation at the second floor of Legal's Harbor-side but they were not open on this Sunday afternoon. I was looking for a seafood restaurant that was a step above the first floor of Harbor-side. The name Legal's Test Kitchen led me to believe that they might actually have some innovative menu items, what we found was the polar opposite of that. The one special of the day was a lobster caesar salad. Everything else was run of the mill. Two of us even opted for chicken dishes as the grilled seafood items seemed incredibly boring.
The tables were incredibly close together and the noise level was very distracting.
The one bright side was the wonderful attention of the staff.
It would be nice if they actually were testing out some dishes and being creative.
We met for lunch. The service was great, although they could use little tea pots for tea. They ran out of mugs and the waitress had to bring out hot water out in a glass. Otherwise, the food and service were excellent.
We enjoyed our first trip to LTK on Saturday night! The drinks were amazing! The food was interesting reasonably priced and delicious. Our server, Dwane, was hysterical, fun, funny, knowledgeable and timely. We will absolutely return to LTK.
Food was great! Manager was friendly!
Our first to Boston and our experience at this restaurant was awesome. The food was great but the server was over the top fantastic.
Food very tasty. All was very good. Good price.
Brought a friend here for her birthday after the Flower Show. It was packed and very very LOUD. We each ordered a Margarita Autentico before the meal. I swear there was not a drop of Tequila in it!! We could't taste any and we didn't feel one iota of any kind of effect like if there had been Tequila in it. For $12 each that was a total rip off!! DO NOT waste your money on cocktails here! I got hte open faced crab cake sandwich. I LOVE Legal crab cakes, that's why I got it. It was different from your regular Legal crab cake, it had some spice in it I did not like. Fail.
Our waiter was very nice and upbeat but all the staff seemed to be running around like they had too many tables to wait on.
I would not go here again.
A big after work crowd in the Seaport district. I have a severe shrimp allergy and the staff took great pains to make sure my food was safe.
We’ve been multiple times. Always fantastic!
A great spot on the waterfront with delicious options that are creative and different than run of the mill choices. Love it!
Food was great. Service was slow. Received wine after the food was delivered.
Great host. Sexy and intelligent. Reception was amazing. Food was very good and a lot. Margarita from Hell was a true delight!
Everything we had was excellent! Our server was attentive without being nosy.
We were happy with the food and service. Satisfactory portion sizes for the cost. Our server brought us complimentary bowls of clam chowder “just because,” which was a welcome and appreciated surprise!
From the ease of online reservation, to the friendly and knowledgeable of her job and menu waitress, to the playful, delicious and fresh cocktails and food, I’d recommend this restaurant with my eyes closed! The only thing I’d like to see improved would be the host or hostess’ appearance. The hostess was in a too-sporty, more-diner-or bar-like gym attire which clashed too loudly with the casual-to-formal ambiance of LTK. Other than that, this is a place I’d like to go back to!
Service was sub par. Our waiter greeted us by asking Do you want anything to drink besides water? Never bothered to introduce himself or greet us. We thought his aim might be to use the minimum number of words while interacting with us throughout the night
The food was average. We ordered grilled swordfish kabobs and grilled salmon. It took quite a while for the waiter to return to our table to clear the dishes and bring our check.
Went for Valentine's Day. Food and cocktails were excellent. Seating not great for 2, a bit cramped with a small table. Service also hurried us thru the meal, and brought me a second salad with my entree instead of asking if I'd like another side. No issues at all with the cuisine however, was delicious!
Service was great, menu selection mediocre, weeknight so noise level was perfect and wine selection was decent.
Shrimp over cooked. Food was salty. Expensive in terms of the food quality.
You'll just never get anything but a great meal at Legal's, especially if you are a seafood lover. We have frequented many Legal's and were hoping to find a menu here at the Test Kitchen that had a bit of the unusual fare, but the menu was ordinary. Excellent, but ordinary. Service was just terrific, and the staff were pleasant and friendly.
Great Lobsta roll
The only lacking part of this dining experience was the service. After 10 minutes of having been seated, I had to get up and go find a server to get menus and water. Unacceptable at a restaurant like this. Other than that, the food and atmosphere were good.
Rude waiter and poor service
Were put at a small table by bar
Place was crowded
Service was very good. They forgot one dessert but they got it out fairly quickly when they discovered their mistake and then waiter insisted on taking the charge for our clam chowders off the bill.
Our entrees were both delicious/ I had goat cheese crusted cod and my husband a special with crab cake, shrimp and scallops
Everything was as it should be
This is a great spot, especially if you are staying at the Marriott. Great food, good service.
Food was good. Disappointing that LTK still doesn’t offer ice cream bonbons for dessert.
Very good! I got the mixed grill, the swordfish was amazing! The steak was a little chewy but flavor good. Bread was tasty as well!
Overall, very good. But we had one service issue. One of us ordered soup and one an appetizer. The soup never came.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but the food and experience was just bad. One person in our party had a shellfish allergy and the staff tried to be as accommodating as they could, but there weren’t many options that would work for her. Do not order the paella.
