Legal Sea Foods - Tysons Corner Ratings and Reviews
The Bang Bang cauliflower is terrific and the crabcake with side salad appetizer is a perfect light meal. Others in our party enjoyed the grilled swordfish, the garlic shrimp pasta, and the catfish matrimony. The server was upselling hard and that was an annoyance, but otherwise it was a good early dinner.
I felt like this restaurant has gone down hill since my last visit. Food was delicious, warm not hot and cooled quickly. Service was friendly but slow and one waitress seemed confused wheather she was to help us or not. Several of the male servers were checking my wife out (very obvious) that’s creepy and disrespectful. They were just kind of hanging out while they wait to serve food. Once the check came and paid I felt invisible to my server.
My drink was not prepared right and had to be sent back. My appetizer was doused in an inedible spicy sauce, and had to be sent back. My chowder, although tasty, was a tiny portion and overpriced. My shrimp cocktail was not fresh, and even smelled foul, like a wet dog. Service was good, however, and they did refund my meal.
The crab soup was excellent as usual, but all our other dishes were not good or simply average. The sweet mashed potato tasted like cardboard, the Caesar salad was tasteless (did not taste like Caesar dressing all), and the salmon tasted blend. The shrimp was OK. I am disappointed as this used to be one of my favorite restaurants.
The staff is amazing. When I informed them of a particular food allergy, the manager came to my table and went over the menu items I was interested in. When she saw my disappointment about the crab stuffed potato containing garlic, she asked the chef if it could be made without it, and they brought out a delicious garlic free crab stuffed potato. I really enjoyed my meal and the concern that the staff has for their customers is incredible.
My husband and I used to go to Legal Seafood often but had stopped going for several years. Our experience was disappointing. The food was bland and pricey. The best part of the meal was our calamari appetizer. Service was okay but nothing exceptional. We probably will not return.
Anytime we are near Legal Seafoods, we schedule at least one dinner. Haven't been disappointed tin over 35 years! Can't beat the selection, preparation, or service. It's been over ten years since we've been at Tyson's location and we were more than satisfied, as usual.
Food was quite good. Enjoyed both Coho and Rockfish at our table. Shrimp Cocktail was excellent. Primary server was spotty -- very friendly and engaging, but order follow-through was off. Management presence is good, though customer interaction feels perfunctory.
We dine at this location, Tysons Corner, at least quarterly and at the Crystal City location a couple times per year. We dine much more frequently, 2-3 times a month, at J. Gilbert's where service, food and ambiance I'd give higher marks at a similar price point. We'll certainly return to Legal Sea Foods Tysons, but thought the comparison might be of interest.
Thanks for a good meal!
