The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish.
Virginia is for lovers (of seafood)! Our two-story restaurant is double the fun with entrances on both levels for easy entrée. Choose to make a splash in the downstairs dining room or in the bar upstairs. Our landscaped interior patio is also a popular lure.

Our convenient restaurant location within Tysons Galleria will get you hooked. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker.

We’ve received a boatload of accolades including being named “#1 Best Seafood Restaurant” in a nationwide poll by USA Today (2013) and and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

I had the shrimp casserole and it was a little greasy. I also had a allergic reaction to something that was in it. Otherwise everything was good.

We have recently rediscovered Legal Seafoods and have really enjoyed our last few meals here. In particular, we have a child with Celiac disease and hands-down Legal Seafoods has been the best eating out experience for accommodating that no-gluten restriction. They go over and beyond our expectations for ensuring that his food order is safe and just have a ton of options for someone with gluten allergy or intolerance. Plus, the seafood is just delicious and very well prepared. Service is always excellent.

Seafood was very good, especially Cioppino. Side of brussel sprouts was undercooked. Service friendly but a little slow. Ambiance: it is in a mall.

The food was excellent but our waiter was certainly lacking in his knowledge of the menu.

It left a lot to be desired. The food was bland and over priced. I will not be heading there again anytime soon

The lobster was great. The coconut shrimp not so much. There was an odd powdery texture that we thought at first was raw batter, but may have been curry powder? Not one of the better coconut shrimp dishes we've had, and my husband LOVES coconut shrimp. I asked for dressing on the side for my salad and, of course, it was not.

They seated us at an inside booth, and we were glad we had a comfortable table. After a bit, I realized the other side of the wall, a thin wall with glass for the upper half, was the kitchen or dish washing area? It was loud and I could hear them arguing. Not great for an early Valentines Day dinner - or any dinner for that matter.

My boyfriend and I had never been here before, but received a gift card and decided to use it the day before Valentine’s Day. Great happy hour deals at the bar, the place was very clean, great service, and we loved the food. Great for a date night.

The cioppino was especially good this time. The first time we had it, the clams were a little tough. the second time, the lobster was overcooked and dry. But this time, the lobster was cooked just right and all the seafood tasted fresh and cooked just right! Thank you! and a big thank you to Jackie who remembers exactly what we like and is especially friendly to my son with autism! The other servers are also very friendly, though Jackie is the only one we know by name.

We both had soup and salad and it was quite good...highly recommend the soups. Wine was ordered and we were both disappointed in the quality of the wine. Our server was wonderful and was able to replace the wines with ones that were far more drinkable. We were both so impressed with his professionalism and warmth. Legal Seafoods is always dependable in their willingness to please...we will be back.

dinner is always great, the matrimony is the best! If ordered, ask for the fries to be dipped in the spicy batter first. It. Is .AWESOME. There are so many great things on the lunch menu to describe.

Construction left exposed framing. One person got sick from the "special" shrimp. Out of standard items. Looks like this place is going out of business! Wish we had gone elsewhere!!

Was glad to hear that Legal's will remain open for another year. When we were last in the restaurant, we were told that the restaurant was suppose to close in mid December??
So happy the plan is now continue operating at present site for at least a year. We happily look forward to next fish dinner at Legal's.

Legal Seafoods is a bit of New England in Virginia. The Portuguese Fisherman’s Stew was great, an a dish infrequently seen outside of New England.

So great to be able to eat Steamers (little neck clams) right here in Tyson's Corner! I have fond memories of this delicacy in Rhode Island and they were prepared to perfection, and fresh!!

Thank you! I'll be back, save some for me!

The mussels and calamari were great. French fries were good but should be double fried to make them even better.

We went to Legal for a "Birthday Dinner." It was okay but not remarkable, especially given the prices. I think the menu and quality of the food has gone down during the past few years. The restaurant is living off its reputation, not the variety and quality of it's seafood. The service was good, but the dining room was only so so, and we had to ask to be seated out of a main (and loud) corridor area. Given that the Tysons area has many food choices, I'm surprised Legal isn't making more of an effort to stay competitive. I probably would opt for McCormick and Schmick's next time.

Our server was great. She accommodated all our requests. Food was served quickly. Only downside is I got an email from Open Table that we never showed up for our reservation. Not sure what was the disconnect with us checking in at hostess desk and communication with Open Table that we honored our reservation.
