About

The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish.
Virginia is for lovers (of seafood)! Our two-story restaurant is double the fun with entrances on both levels for easy entrée. Choose to make a splash in the downstairs dining room or in the bar upstairs. Our landscaped interior patio is also a popular lure.

Our convenient restaurant location within Tysons Galleria will get you hooked. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker.

We’ve received a boatload of accolades including being named “#1 Best Seafood Restaurant” in a nationwide poll by USA Today (2013) and and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

This location permanently closed with minimal warning. I never plan to dine at any of their other locations, assuming they still have locations!

We have enjoyed eating at the Legal Seafood restaurant at Tysons Galleria many times, often once a week, over the last 25 years. The food is fresh and healthy, with a rich diversity of fish and vegetable options. The service is excellent and the staff very friendly. We are sad and puzzled at Legal’s management decision to close this location. They are leaving behind a loyal clientele. We hope they realize their mistake and come back to Tysons in future.

Temperature in the establishment was a bit warm for our groups comfort.
The meal themselves came out hot and accurate. The kitchen was a bit slow in getting the meals together. Strange since the entire place was only 1/4 full. Had they been more busy I don’t know what they would have done.

Service was good when it was had but getting the attention of the missing waiter was difficult at times.

Will I be back, sure. My guard will be up though.

Legal Seafood has officially made my go to restaurant list for dining out. They have a variety of items on the menu that can be prepared Gluten Free. The first thing I tried was the calamari. It's been many years since I've been able to enjoy it. But not only did I get to enjoy GF battered calamari I also enjoyed their GF rolls. They brought two types of rolls to the table and the GF ones were a pleasant surprise. I was so excited to not be the only person at the table to enjoy bread. Anyone with an allergy can rest assure they will be well taken care of here. No cross contamination danger at all. With the many GF options available and the high standard allergy care they have eating here was a joy. Healthy options and Paleo friendly choices were a plus as well. I wish there were more restaurants like Legal Seafood around.

Food was good but service lacked - hard to get waiter's attention when food delivered and discovered the sauce listed on menu had not been placed on swordfish - took about 5 minutes to capture staff attention

We are sorry to see Legal Seafood close its Tysons Corner Galleria location. We will miss you! We have been eating at Legal Seafood for as many years as it has been open, and we live about 40 miles away! We also ate at the former Montgomery Mall and Baltimore locations. It would be nice if Legal Seafood opened a new restaurant in Columbia, MD...wishful thinking.

Our lunch was very good, as usual. We had Cream of Crab soup and Fish and Chips. Our Server was excellent and the food was excellent. Once we found out they were permanently closing, we made plans to visit for the last time. Sometime when we are in the area, we will stop at the Crystal City or D.C. location.

We would recommend Legal Seafood in the other locations and will try to visit again. Thank you for all of the years of fresh, well-prepared seafood!

Beyond disappointed that the Tysons location has closed. It was our go to restaurant for amazing snapper and their awesome brown rice with leeks. Management was consistent about checking in to make sure our experience was as expected. Super simple parking and easy location to get to. Other DC area Legal locations just not easily accessible.

Always consistent quality in food and service. Excellent seafood although disappointing to have four different kinds of seafood unavailable ( presumably due to Labor Day weekend). Appreciated staff willingness to make substitutions for various side dishes and nice range of good cocktails. Will come again,

My party of 5 arrived on time for our 7:00 seating and our table was ready. The server first informed us that the most popular items on the menu were not available which left us with choices like salads and fish and chips. He said was the problem was with their supplier out of Boston. I should have known this when I made the reservation! So we decided to stay and ordered glasses of Australian Pino Grigo. The waiter said he could not serve us glasses because he thought they were out of that wine. Ended up buying a bottle since we could not get a glass. Things seemed to go down hill from there and what should have been a nice evening out with friends at a popular restaurant was spoiled. We will not be going back.

We used to go to the Legal Seafood at Montgomery Mall and since it left, we have missed it much. This was the first time visiting this location and we were very happy to find the Tysons location just as delicious and reliable. We also have gluten free needs and they were very happy to accommodate. We would recommend the restaurant to all seafood lovers!

It was our anniversary, and we do the same tradition every year - stay at the Ritz and eat at Legal Seafood. They treat us so well and do not disappoint!! Service was great and food was even better. We may come back for one more meal before our stay-cation is over.

Risotto wasn’t cooked....(crunchy rice) baked seafood potato was burnt on the edges. Spent nearly $300 for 4 people and we only had three cocktails between us. Strange because we had better food/service over the holidays at this same location.

Our dinner took an hour for us to be served. We ordered nothin special. The couple next to us arrived after we did, got served before us, and left before we ever got our bill. The manager came out and apologized for our food being late but did not offer to compensate us in anyway. I will go to McCormick and Schmicks from now on when I want fresh seafood!

The mashed sweet potatoes were the highlight--absolutely delicious. My tuna burger and spinach were also super tasty, and my mom and friend devoured their crab cakes. The servers were on top of everything and unobtrusive, so I could have a nice chat with the people I came here to visit :)
