Food was not warm, it was just not how I remembered it. The menu is very limited too.
The food is always good. I've tried several different items and I was never disappointed.
Allagash cold lobster roll delicious
Did Black Friday shopping and went there for lunch!
You can skip this legal seafood........ whoever re-designed the space was an intern in design. It's tacky, uncomfortable and very boring.
Food is poor also. Just skip the whole thing.
Ordered the most Awesome lobster roll and super friendly service!
Food was fine. Host stand is always disengaged and act as though guests are a bother. Service was terrible. Couldn’t get refills or assistance for almost 20 mins during our meal and the server never came over to ask how things were.
The service was excellent and the food never disappoints.
This mall location is nothing like some of the locations I have been to previously. No table cloths, casual atmosphere. They should have called this location legal seafood sports bar. No complaints about the food but the dining experience was not the elegant Saturday evening experience I was expecting. If you’re shopping at the short Hills Mall and you’re leaving around dinner time, might not be a bad place to grab a bite. But certainly not a destination restaurant.
I wanted to give Legal a higher rating, but they really need to update, & KEEP CLEAN, their restrooms.
Waited for an hour for our food while all the tables around us that came in after us were served. The order was nothing complicated just sandwiches and salads.
Turn down the music. You don’t dine when the music is loud and not pleasant. So we ate and didn’t dine. I really wasn’t amused with two year olds running thru the isles
Awesome. The special appetizer mussels (spicy tomato sauce) was great. Grilled tuna rare with blistered long beans … perfect.
Food is standard for Legal Seafood chain. Service was good. A little expensive for what it is. $86 for lunch for 2.
I love everything about this place.
It’s in the the perfect location.
Had lunch here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. We were early for our reservation. The restaurant wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and chatty. Unfortunately, that was the only positive. We never received our oysters appetizer, they brought me the wrong salad, and it took forever to get the check. The food was definitely not tasty enough for the inconvenience.
Good service but food is Not as good as it used to be… pricy with smaller portions. Jumbo shrimp? Really More like large. Better places to go overall at this price point…
Did not enjoy the overpriced scallops and succotash. Service was ushering us out prior to seeing a dessert menu or offering coffee.
Have had lunch at this location on many occasions. The food is very good as is the service. I would recommend this restaurant.
Service was ok. Food was ok. We both had lobster roll which is to be served warm on a buttered toasted roll. Was good but somewhat cold, definitely not warm.
It had been many years since visiting a Legal Seafoods. Disappointing lunch...had lobster roll which was OK but so overpriced! Ordered Oysters Rockefeller which was also disappointing, very dry and salty, and only 4??
Its not that the food was bad, but it was mediocre at best. Good server!
Food is on a decline from before the renovations. It used to be one of the best seafood places around but not anymore. Revamped menu is not as good as the old menu.
Wonderful food and great service. We always enjoy our visits to Legal seafood.
food and service excellent.
happy to be back enjoying legal again.
like the new interior renovation!!!
Food was great! Def a popular spot so glad we made reservations as there wasn’t even room at the bar for walk in’s.
Our server Roger was above and beyond accommodating and made great suggestions from drinks right down to dessert.
Will def be back.
Both meals fish were overcooked and dry. I would expect better quality for the price.
Eric was our waiter and he's super nice and efficient!
The food was very good. Drinks were fantastic as well. Our server was new and it took her a long time to check on us, didn’t wipe table and just not attentive. Overall a nice place for a date or every day dining.
This is a Short Hills go to. Glad they are open, since Garden State closed. Been making reservations for lunch since the re-opening. Food still very good, but has gotten pricey. Lunch runs us $50 pp plus tax & tip. Worth it for us, but may explain why not packed. Seating after renovation became strange, with one end all big party booths. Going to keep going so we don't loose this place. Staff still great1
Awesome! LSF reminds us of dinner at the CIA in Hyde Park. Forget fast food. Skip it entirely and save up for a celebration…LSF a good bet. Lunch menu. They have certain regular items — we groove on grilled menu. This time salmon and tuna, we always request rare — but they change the accompaniments seasonally. The tuna came with blistered green beans. The Mrs had salmon with nut crust. I can’t critique everything on the menu. If LSF is ever less than perfect this was not such an occasion. It does not get better at any price.
Friendly environment, good food, good service and beautiful place 😀❤️👌
Walked in at 4pm no hostess for 10 min, a waitress goes by tried to get her attention, ignored.
The lobster bisque was 12 dollars and there was hardly 3 small pieces of lobster.
Asked for a cocktail with a salt rim, got one with no salt.
Next visit will be to Ruth steak house next door that serve both fish and steak☹️
The food is always reliable but service was really sloppy despite the fact that the restaurant was mostly empty. The server forgot drinks, brought the plates out at different times. We were a little bewildered since this is not usual but have to give this experience a lower grade as a result.
Remodeled. Service a bit slow. No water refills. Bar service slow.
Food average. Was there for birthday, noted on reservations. No acknowledgement.
Server was really nice and very accommodating!!
Waitress was awesome. Hostess very gracious. Food was perfect.
Arrived in Newark from Philly one day prior to flying out to Aruba and decided to stop pass Legal Seafood in the Short Hills Mall. Our server Erik was awesome and the food was great as well along with our Hennessy Sidecars. I actually liked this location better than the one by our home in King of Prussia. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll be sure to revisit.
Service was great! Very flexible with a special request. The place has been through renovations. Unfortunately it has lost the cool vibe it once had. Seafood is still top notch
Good times and great service which is so hard to find these days. I asked if I could go off-menu on an item and was immediately told that would NOT be a problem.
