They needed to have more servers on shift. I think there were only 2-3 servers for the whole restaurant. Our drinks took a long time. The food was delicious. But the server allowed our plates to sit in front of us for a long time. Dessert was good but took forever
We were celebrating our 50th Anniversary with a gift card from my sister. The service was excellent and ambiance above average. But prices are high for what is on the menu and quality of how it is served. I’m usually not a complainer, but I had to send my baked stuffed shrimp back because the top was burnt. They fixed it, but the replacement shrimp was over cooked and dry. Obviously previously cooked and reheated. I was not pleased, but went along with it. The staff was very attentive and apologetic which was appreciated, I would have chosen something else if I knew it was going to be like that. Not really ideal dinner for a 50th wedding anniversary. Live and learn I guess.
Delicious and fresh!
We ha a dinner res for mother’s day. We were seated immediately. The renovated space is on point. In the, bathrooms, audio of ocean sounds is playing. The food was exceptional. The BLT rolls and halibut were fantastic. Service was busy because of the day, but friendly and helpful. Legals is always a little pricey, but on this visit, it was worth it.
Food is great. Noise level way too loud. Why are they blasting music over the din of hundreds of conversations? Very disappointing
Love this particular Legal Seafoods. They’re all different. Pleasant servers, a menu to make everyone satisfied. Great bar ..good wines. You can or don’t have to be bombarded with sports TV
Simple is best at this North Shore outpost. The renovations a few years ago make it much nicer and they added a few more enhancements. The wine list used to be better, but it is still good. What is lacking is an adequate number of waitstaff.
We always have a great time at Legal. The food and service is always great but this visit was one of the best. The table was at the window, the server was excellent, and the Halibut was perfect!
The food is always delicious. Service is wonderful. Love Legal Seafood!
Amazing food, great service, price was a little high.
our waitress was very good,, place seemed under staffed
Eating at the Peabody Legal’s bar has become one of our favorite experiences. The renovated space is wonderful, the menu is great and the bar tenders are friendly and fun. It’s also a nice touch that the bar has accessible seating built into it.
It was busy--Easter Sunday. But when our time came, the table was ready; we didn't have to wait at all. The food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their orders. For myself, the fillet mignon was a little dry, but grilled to perfection. Service was above average; server was slow, but we weren't in a hurry. He also didn't bring second drinks for anyone, which was unfortunate, especially when a second cup of coffee would have been great with the dessert. I don't think of myself as being too particular; I think that "outstanding" deserves only the very best. So my evaluation of one star short is very good. Do not think that anything was "wrong," because it wasn't. The fillet, the lack of beverage refills, and the price were just not up to such a high standard as "outstanding."
TERRIBLE!! The girls at the front desk are arrogant, rude, unhelpful, and disrespectful. Basically, they are deplorable. They have no compassion, no sympathy and no respect for elderly people. Will never eat at Legal’s again. The food and service was average at best. But the staff at the front desk, worst I have ever encountered. Avoid this location!!
We hadn't been to Legal's at North Shore Mall in over a year and won't be going back. While the renovations made since our last visit are very nice and the bar staff (Matt) was great, the food was poor. We had the Gluten free RI style calamari and it was greasy and over battered. The grilled salmon dinner, done blackened, was boring at best. The brown rice with leeks had barely any flavor and the broccoli was just bland. The blackened spice on the salmon was a hard crust that also lacked flavor. The same was true with my dining partner's blackened swordfish. His mashed potato's were watery and the wax beans made for a very bland meal. The price for the dinners at $27.95 for the salmon and $33.95 for the swordfish were way overpriced for the food that was delivered. I thought perhaps the place was empty because of the construction outside, it seems it has to do with the lousy food.
Dinner was wonderful. Oysters were delicious & our server, Adam, was so knowledgeable and helpful!
Good food and service
Great food; great service. Mentioned a birthday and they brought out dessert with a candle!
LegalSeafood Peabody have the best food and service. Every week costumer for sure.
My wife and I love it.
as expected with legal seafood... excellent food and an attentive waiter.
Our favorite place to go! We go there every Saturday night :)
Sushi rolls: getting skimpy on tuna slices and crabmeat. Rolls fall apart easily
I have been a patron of Legal Seafood's since I first moved to Boston 40 years ago. I LOVED it but will probably not return after my dinner to Legal's in Peabody on Sunday. I have felt for years that they were pricing themselves out of the market but continued going as I could always count on the high quality of the fish. However my experience there on Sunday has changed my mind. I was there with 2 other people. Our bill including a 20% tip (as the pricing wasn't the waiter's fault) came to $132.00. We had NO alcohol, 1 small salad between the 3 of us, 3 of the least expensive entrees on the menu, 2 cups of coffee and we split 1 piece of cake. I was outraged that the scrod which was about $15.00 for years and then went up to $18.00 was now $25.99. Coffee was $3.75/cup. Perhaps what left us with the worst taste (please pardon the pun) is that the piece of cake we ordered was for our anniversary. They knew it was our anniversary as they commented on it when we walked into the restaurant as I had written that on the Open Table reservation. In the past they comped the slice of cake if they knew it was our anniversary or a birthday celebration, but on Sunday we were charged.
My guess is that others feel similarly to the way we do as we used to have to wait to be seated. . . even with a reservation. On Sunday at 6:45 p.m. there were only 2 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. We won't be back which is really too bad after all of these years.
I was very disappointed in my meal at this restaurant. It initially took someone more than 5 minutes to greet us at our table and ask us if we wanted water. We ordered the buffalo popcorn shrimp appetizer and it was awful! The shrimp tasted old...at first we thought it was the batter that they use but it wasn’t. We ended up sending it back and not ordering another app. No manager came over to talk to us about it. We should have just left at this point...but decided to stay. My fiancé got the haddock and I got the Chioppini. AWFUL! He said his fish tasted frozen and mine just tasted fishy. The broth was very watery. It came up to the top of the bowl...which made it hard to eat shellfish. The best part of the meal was the chowder, which was mediocre at best. I’ve been to other locations before and weren’t too bad, not great but not as bad as this one. I will never eat here ago.
Legal Seafoods is way overpriced and the food is actually not that good. My dad had the fried clams, and he thought they were too greasy and not very tasty. My husband had filet mignon with potatoes, and while he said it was "ok", he was expecting much more for nearly $40. My cioppino was average, and again, was not worth the $33 price tag for a medium sized bowl of tomato broth with a few scallops and shrimp. It was mostly tiny mussels. As for the promised lobster, it was just a lobster claw plopped into the bowl that you were expected to pull out with your hands, crack and extract the small amount of meat yourself. Since the claw itself was covered in tomato broth, this was really messy and nearly impossible to pull off. Please, just take the lobster meat out and place it in the bowl with the other seafood!!
A very pretty restaurant (even though it is attached to a "mall". The food was quite good-fresh fish-and service was acceptable (not spectacular, just OK). The side dishes were also very good.
This is a place to go when you are in the area, want fresh fish or seafood and don't wish to travel far. The restaurant is very pretty but don't expect 5 star service here.
As always, easy to book via Open Table. We generally venture to Legal C Bar in Lynnfield since its closer but have always enjoyed the Legal at the Mall. The waitress Sat night was one of the best we have had in the past few years.
Always a great "fish" experience....love that sushi is included on the menu. My wife and I have never been disappointed at Legal Sea Foods.
Always enjoy the freshest seafood served with seasonal sides. Service is always pleasant and efficient. We usually have a consistently quality experience at Legal Sea Food. Love the Anna's baked cod.
It is always a great experience dining at Legal Seafoods!
My Aunt and her husband were visiting from Dallas. The first stop when the do visit is Legal's. They both ordered huge lobsters and enjoyed every bit of the best seafood around. She also ordered a gallon of chowder to be sent to her home. Legal's is the place for seafood bar-none!
Food was cold , Luke warm at best all 4 dishes ! waitress dropped a fork on my mother and didn’t apologize
Always high quality!
The staff were good and the meal tasted good but they used MSG. My wife is sensitive to it. We have never had a problem with msg at Legal Seafood before, but it was definitely in the food that evening.
We both very much don’t like the fact we have to go out of the mail to get into the restaurant. It’s ridiculous and I’ll think twice next time Legal is suggested.
The food here is always consistently good. Everything arrived promptly and was delicious. The service was excellent as well.
Sushi rice was dry...did not enjoy the sushi at all. Remainder of food and drink was excellent!
We love legal seafood and eat there quite often. Fish always fresh and perfecly cooked
Food is consistently very good and the service was excellent.
Food was good. The Caesar salad is huge. But I had a dirty knife, they brought the wrong chowder then had to be reminded that I was waiting for the correct chowder, and they had to be reminded to bring the bread. The manager needs to step up her training of staff. Two people, one drink each, no dessert, with tip $90. So not inexpensive. Service should be better at that price.
