    Lobster roll was very good. Twin stuffed lobster tails were marginal, a bit dry. The carrots served with the meal were terrible, dry and tasteless. The french fries were wonderful, crisp and nice potato flavor.

    The Arctic Char was excellent and the service also was great. Lori knows us and does a great job serving a consistent well prepared meal at a reasonable price.

    It had been several years since I last dined at Legal, and I have to say that my most recent visit ensures that I won't be back any time soon. The service was fine, as was the ambiance. However, the prices have gone way up, the fish was largely sourced from abroad even though we're 20 minutes from Gloucester, and the food overall tastes like the new owners are trying to squeeze every last cent of profit from the chain by trading on its good name before they inevitably fold and auction off the remaining assets at a fire sale. Legal used to be reliably delicious, if slightly on the pricier side, but now it's more expensive than ever and without the good food to match.

    Had an early family dinner to celebrate my child’s first dance recital. Every staff member we encountered was highly attentive. Food was excellent & our server was fabulous. Highly recommend.

    Ever since Roger sold the business we have found that the food at Legals to be hit or miss. Before when he owned it the food was always consistently good and prepared well. Now, you never know how it will go. We ordered the calamari and found it to be on the greasy side. The calamari was a bit mushy as well. My shrimp cocktail was excellent as was my husband’s Cioppino. The Caesar salad was excellent. My granddaughter was happy with her steak tips. They were cooked as she requested. Broccoli was over cooked. One of my biggest complaints is with their presentation. We know this isn’t a high end place but how you place the food on the plate is important. Our server was great. She was very accommodating and friendly and very attentive. We don’t dine at Legals as often as we use to due to their inconsistencies which is a shame. But when we do go we always go to their Peabody, Ma location as the service there is consistently good.

    I am generally a huge fan of Legal Seafood and have been for many years. My recent dining experience in Peabody was not up to the quality I have come to expect from Legal. First off, I will say our server was excellent. Attentive but not overbearing- probably the best part of the night. I had been looking to order the Legal Fish Chowder, a long time staple, but saw it is no longer on the menu which was very disappointing. I did order the Thai Peanut Salad with tuna. The salad had a very rough chop of cabbage and red pepper and not much else. The crispy rice noodles were extremely thick and chewy. The dressing had very little peanut flavor. I ordered the tuna rare, which it was- it was barely seared. There was absolutely no flavor to the very thick piece of fish. The wine was delicious but so grossly overpriced. One 9 ounce pour was the same price as a whole bottle. The overall pricing was very high for what we received.
